Amazingly, the one Namco game added to the Atari 8-Bit pile of Atari 50 somehow eluded coverage ’round these parts since… well, the last time I touched these fucking things, so… let’s rectify that and go home.

Review #1359 – Before She’s Gone (Switch)
Keep the little girl from dying by pointing out the things that can potentially kill her in this exciting point-and-click adventure game. The final game in our Five Dollar Gift Card saga that I completely forgot about.

And then, there’s Saturday’s live show, which featured a playthrough of the game. We’ll come up with a clever pitch later…
Review #1358 – Metal Force (Famicom)
Diving back into the realm of unlicensed bootleg fare… except this one is actually quite good. In fact, I am genuinely surprised by how well Metal Force held up. This almost could pass for something out of the Tengen camp… almost.
Review #1357 – Target: Renegade (NES)
British developers attempt to make a gritty sequel to a redressed version of a beloved Japanese arcade classic. They fail… miserably… at least on NES.
Review #1356 – Renegade (NES)
Going from the terrible to the less than terrible was probably for the best and honestly, I didn’t think Renegade was as bad as I expected it to be… or maybe my dread for the next game on our list was such that it bled over to this title.
Either way, the redress of the Kunio Kun that Kunio’ed it Kun is spotlighted here and I wonder why I even bother.
Review #1355 – My Hero (Master System)
Traditionally, Review A Bad Game Day – a relic of the old 1MoreCastle site that I adopted for myself – would land on August 8th… but that’s on a Saturday and I’ve better things to do on a Saturday than waste it on today’s offering. A prime example of something that doesn’t always go well on a card.
We didn’t end the week on Super Boy, which turned out better towards the back end of that series, but we do end on a bad game, so it all works out.
Review #1354 – Super Boy 4 (Master System)
It took us four games, but Super Boy finally graces Sega Mark III proper and the quality is a step up. Whether that means a good game is… oh, come on, you should know better by now.
Good news is that they stopped making Super Boy games. Bad news is we’ve still got one more bad Master System game to look at tomorrow, but at least, it’s licensed by Sega… man, and I was worried I’d have nothing for Review A Bad Game week here.
Review #1353 – Super Boy III (Master System-ish)
Calling this a “Sega Master System” game is a misnomer because this entry is a strictly SG-1000 release… which would technically make this the first time we’re reviewing a game from Sega’s older console that never made it to American soil… but much like Akumajo Dracula on Sharp X68000, it’s on a console that I am never going to touch again and I am playing this on a Master System gimmick anyway, so whatever, who cares? The game still sucks… or does it?
Review #1352 – Super Boy II (Master System)
Hey, kids. Remember that Super Boy game we played yesterday? Well, here it is, again, because sure, why not?
Review #1351 – Super Boy I (Master System)
Yes, we’re tackling the infamous Super Boy series on Master System… or so they tell us. And yes, we’re doing the entire series this week. Joy.
