Review #1376 – Ghost Hunter (Atari 8-Bit)

Spooky season begins with Pac-Man At Home.

“But we already have Pac-Man at home.”

Shut up.

Also… yes, it’s another one of these accursed AI thumbnails that Youtube’s Inspiration tab provided before its retirement. But I whitened the fellow’s hair and added in a screenshot as well as the usual material. Last time we’ll use one of those. Next time, we steal images off Google Search as per usual.

Review #1364 – Mario Bros. (Atari 8-Bit)

It’s the Mario Bros. Nintendo didn’t want you to know about… because it’s not on a Nintendo system and they’d rather you just buy their version instead… fair enough, I suppose.

This is the XE version, which differs from the old 5200 version. It’s also the better version of the two, though considering it’s made years later, that’s probably rather obvious.

Review #1363 – Food Fight (Atari 8-Bit)

A bit of a delay in this one because I forgot to upload the video this morning before I left and I didn’t bring a laptop. Oops. Anyway, it’s another Atari 50 mine and on top of that, it’s mostly recycled bits from a prior review… which helps because said review helped in filling some gaps for this one.

Review #1343 – Centipede (Atari 8-Bit)

You would think that a game ported over to more powerful hardware would provide a more accurate conversion of an arcade classic that the technologically inferior Atari VCS… but alas…

WordPress saw fit to remind me that today marks the 16th anniversary of my opening up a WordPress account… back when I considered using it as yet another side thing before it was briefly abandoned. Who would have thought the day would come when I would jump full bore onto this rocket ship of sorts? Still, a hell of a reminder.

Review #1340 – HyperBlast (Atari 8-Bit)

It’s about time that we started mining this Antstream service for potential video fodder and sure enough, if this had been developed in Montreal, the developers would be accused of not having French in their company name.

Fortunately, English Software is a UK outfit that nobody outside of the UK computer gaming scene from the 80s would have ever heard of. They’re safe for the moment.
