FOX Wants Legitimacy On Smackdown… And They Ask For Cold Ronda…

The last time Ronda was in anything resembling a “legit” combat match, she ate fist and took a year off. So if Ronda loses on Smackdown, she has to be off for a year or else there is no legitimacy to be had and it’s just another fake wrestling angle.

Smackdown moves to FOX in October 2019.

Smackdown (Nov. 13th, 2018) – Daniel Bryan Danielson Is Champion Again…

Not going into super heavy detail for this one, but I just wanted to address a couple key points here and be on my way. Yes, I’m a little late to the party, but what else is new?

WWE Heck In A Cell 2018

So there were three Network shows that took place in the past two months. One was playing in the background and I ended up watching first (as evidenced by the subsequent posting made). The other took place just this past weekend and I ended up not watching due to lack of interest. And then the other show is the subject of today’s post.

In any event, I completely forgot about the Hell In A Cell show until a couple weeks ago, so here we are. I’ve heard some good things about this show as well as some bad things, but the only reason I even bothered to watch this is spelled out for you in the banner for this post. That having been, this is being posted after two other events have already taken place and I will try NOT to elude to events I have yet to see… but sometimes, you know, I just can’t help myself.

Ronda Rousey To Be Inducted Into UFC Hall Of Fame

And she doesn’t look happy about it…

I don’t see a death glare; I see a glare of someone who doesn’t want to be here.

Maybe this WWE thing will have her learn how to do more facial expressions beyond just this blank stare of nothingness.

Still, good for her. She deserves the honor, I suppose.

Not an MMA guy, so I wouldn’t know.

Welp.

Ramblemania 34

Hey, look at this. A timely Ramblemania! Well… almost timely.

So here’s the deal; this is a show where I had gotten little interest in and then slowly but surely, my interest piqued… mostly when a guy who hasn’t wrestled in three years is about to wrestle for the first time since the last time wrestle, but some of the other stuff were kind of intriguing and there were some interesting match-ups that I was really looking forward to.

Did it live up? Eh… let’s find out.

RAW (April 2nd, 2018) – Easter Monday Means Two-Thirds Of RAW For Me

So, first off, hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter weekend or Passover weekend or just plain ol’ long weekend if you have any of those.

Since I had (well, have) a long weekend off, that meant I was home to watch Raw for the first time in what seemed like forever. While I originally had other plans, said plans were cancelled at the last minute and I found myself with plenty of spare time to spare. So I started tuning in to RAW about an hour in, which meant I missed the opening segment with Cold Ronda, the Queen of Ear Rape, Jason Jordan’s Dad, and Gonad the Barbarian… and when I say missed, I really meant “dodged a bullet.”

Fortunately, the rest of the show fared better… which isn’t really saying much. In any event, here are about five-ish notable points about my Raw viewing experience in no particular order.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2018

Fun fact: Not counting Survivor Series and Royal Rumble, this is the third straight WWE B-show that I’ve used the sleeping cat for a header. Another fun fact is that this is the first time I’ve sat down to watch a WWE B-show since Hell In A Cell left a sour taste in my mouth. Turns out I had a bit of free time and needed some background noise.

So I suppose the first noteworthy positive of having signed Ronda Rousey and advertising her on this show is that I’m watching a WWE B-level PPV for the first time in months. I assure you that has less to do with “Cold Ronda” and more to do with how WWE is going to pull off their “history making” seven man Elimination Chamber match.

Also, the women are getting an elimination chamber match. That’s also “history making” too, right?

Make note of this, folks. This is probably the last stretch of WWE B-shows that I’m going to watch before the ill-conceived notion of dual-branded ten hour B-shows come to fruition once Wrestlemania has come and gone. That means more multi-person matches and less reasons to actually give a shit about anything that’s going on. If nothing else, I’m hoping the creative ups their game… but that’s basically a fool’s hope at this point.

Anyway, on with the show…

Royal Ramble 2018

Yeah, this is going up a bit late and to be fair, that’s sort of the plan here.

I didn’t have a whole lot to say about the Rumble. The most I did was a brief results write-up and mentioned a more complete musings will be posted the following year. Well, it turns out you only needed to wait a month or so, but better late than never, I suppose.

Anyway, on with the late show…

Yeah, About That Rousey Fight…

Was it truly a shock that she lost? Not really; it was bound to happen sooner or later… though I would’ve expected it to be later. But was it as big of a deal as everyone made it out to be? Again, not really. Ronda got humbled the old-country way. And when the eventual rematch comes around, it’ll probably be treated as a big deal and you’ll see if Ronda can get her win back or just get another beating.

As for me… well, no fucks were given the day Ronda Rousey lost… I was too busy playing TIE Fighter to care.
