Review #1326 – Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers 2 (NES)

The end of the Disney Afternoon week on the channel, the universe, and the most mind-blowing revelation since Baby Yoda getting punched in the face. And just because I feel like it, you’re getting this one early in the morning. All hail the once and future Squirrel Kings.

Review #1325 – Ducktales 2 (NES)

Which is the graver injustice? That this sequel is better than the original game that people actually like or that Scrooge McDuck plagiarized all of Darkwing Duck’s best bits? I wish I could say “all this and more,” but really, all I do is talk about the game and the rest is saved for your imagination… such as it is.

Review #1323 – Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers (NES)

We continue our descent into Disney Afternoon madness with another game that was long overdue to be knocked off the proverbial bucket list.

If you’re wondering why the usual Rescue Rangers theme isn’t playing you into the video, blame the mouse. Hence, the more CID-friendly Squirrel King theme.

Review #1322 – Ducktales (NES)

Five days of NES Disney Afternoon kicks off with that game people likes. Had to some last minute changes due to the dreaded Copyright ID gimmick; apparently, you can’t have 8-bit rendition of old cartoon themes playing in your opening schtick. So what should have had familiar childhood memories for most of the audience has become stock themes from the aforementioned games.

Funny how I didn’t have this issue with Darkwing Duck last year… maybe the mouse finally caught up?

Also… Warning: Controversial take contained within.

Review #1291 – City Connection (NES)

The game so awesome it got a video game company named after it… and just for shits and giggles, I’ve even included a mild tribute to a long defunct personality of sorts that has been a frequent subject matter of this webzone years ago. Hope he’s doing well these days.

Honestly, I think this review needed to happen sooner than later and I was surprised that I had never touched this one back in the day considering it was the game being covered.

For those who want to watch the video commentary, you can do so here.

Review #1272 – Doodle World (NES)

It’s the first of many Antstream-fueled review fodder uploads and if nothing else, I’ll be mining this shit for all its worth… whatever that ends up entailing in the long run, that is.

Anyway, you’ve probably seen sample video of this thing last week via Extra Bits. Now here’s the review portion of the program.

Review #1269 – Where’s Waldo? (NES)

Wait just a minute, King. This isn’t Portrait Of Ruin. What the hell is this?

Well, I wish that I could say that it’s a swerve and you all fell for it, but no, technical issues prompted me to put the kibosh on the Dominus leftovers and replace them with some dirty and quick. Hence, Part 1 of this endeavor, which covers every wannabe angry reviewer’s low-hanging fruit once they saw ericmansuper’s original video from 19 years ago… I could have held this off for another year and marked as a 20th anniversary celebration, but no, VEGAS has to take a fart during the editing process. Thanks, Shanoa.

Anyway, this one’s a late night special. Another one’s coming later today.
