So last month, I posted a screen cap of former WWE/WCW/TNA creative person, alleged hated person, and hack writer Vince Russo flashing a piece of paper showing off his list of criteria for what he considers a wrestling mark. I mentioned that I would eventually post my answers and here we are… several weeks later.

Why did I take so long to follow up on this? I had better things to do in life.

But in any event, the moment only one person has been waiting for… how much of a mark am I according to Vince Russo’s list of criteria? The answers await after the break.

Weathered

It’s been a while since I did a health update… and there’s a reason for that… there’s nothing new to say.

I’ve been doing monthly treatments for my bowels; an infusion through the veins of some drug whose name I can’t recall, but it’s been doing wonders in some ways and aggravating in others. I haven’t felt much pain unless I ate something that didn’t agree with me, but my stools have become a bit less solid, as it were. It also doesn’t help that I’ve had some stressful periods that have hindered recovery at times.

Still, it’s not so bad. Other than a few sour periods, it’s been business as usual. Going about my usual activities, I’ve been getting some stuff done, my appetite has gotten better, and I’ve been able to take some walks without getting exceedingly tired. I’ve had more good days than I’ve had bad, but there are times when it feels like things are regressing.

IDW To Finish The Final Mirage Volume With TMNT Journeys

Once upon a time, Peter Laird and Jim Lawson began writing Volume 4 of the TMNT comic book – skipping the much-maligned Image Comics run that is Volume 3. Due to a variety of factors including the sale of the TMNT property to Viacom, Volume 4 only lasted about 30+ issues before it was eventually abandoned.

Well, it looks like IDW is going to pull the same shit they did with Volume 3 – where they reprinted the entire run before poaching the original creatives to produce a proper finale for this thing – but this time with Volume 4, a series that also had its share of mixed reactions.

Admittedly, I wasn’t a huge fan of the book. Maybe it was the slow pacing, the slow output of issues during the latter period, or maybe just the overall general direction… but it never grabbed me as much as some of the older stuff did. If anything, I found myself enjoying the relaunched Tales Of The TMNT series more; those were self-contained stories that did whatever and covered whatever, but you had some genuinely fun stuff in there that more than made up for the dull pacing of the main book… even if you had to put up with the harsh political slant of the letter pages, which I generally avoid because those things almost never age well.

Still, seeing this get a reprint and possibly a proper conclusion is somewhat exciting. Maybe giving this another shot decades after its initial inception will change my perception of this run… or maybe it won’t. But then again, I didn’t completely hate Volume 3 back in the day and actually did look forward to that coming to a conclusion, so… fuck, who knows?

Still Pushing OG Switch… Also Spaceballs

It’s been a week or so since the debut of Switch 2 and… I haven’t gotten one yet.

Those who know me or frequented this blog knows that I had intended on waiting. Granted, I did put myself up for a pre-order slot in case the early showcase of launch fare impressed me enough to actually jump the gun… but what was there… didn’t sell me on the console at launch. Pricing also didn’t help matters; if it’s not the consoles, then the games themselves. Thanks, but no thanks.

In any event, I’ve still got more than enough stuff on Switch to play. There’s a backlog of stuff that I really need to start burning through, I’ve got plenty of Mario Maker stuff that I’d like to get cleared up, and really, there’s more than enough mileage left in the old bugger that I have a feeling there’s going to more stuff coming. I may end up getting another Switch if those go down in price… probably one of those OLED units with the nice screen.

I can wait on Switch 2. Hopefully, a price drop will occur, but right now, I’ve got enough stuff to keep me entertained.

In other news, they’re making another Spaceballs movie… due in 2027.

Finally, a real Star Wars movie to look forward to.

AEW Dynamite (June 11th, 2025) – Half A Spectacular

Hey, look… an AEW Dynamite musings.

No way in hell am I sitting through FOUR HOURS of wrestling programming in a row in the middle of the week no matter who’s booking this thing, so you’re just getting the Dynamite portion of this summer spectacular or whatever they called it… which is fine by me, because I’m told that the Collision portion of the program is where things fall off a cliff. I guess I’ll take their word for it, but anyway… a brief summation of what I’ve seen.

We open with a Will Ospreay/Swerve Strickland match that ends in a 30-minute time limit draw, which then brings out the Death Television Riders to beat up Swerve and Ospreay eats a tacked Superkick for good measure. The match was your usual Ospreay goodness/hackiness… whatever floats your boat. This is followed by MJF mocking the fomer Sin Cara before the Hurt Business come out to beat a bunch of guys in a six-man, which was a thing that happened. At this point, it’s just the Hurt Business beating the shit out of dudes, which is fine. But this thing with MJF? Doesn’t work for me, brother. I think we’re at the point where MJF feels like someone you add to an act that’s hot and you want to kill it.

And so this is followed by Hangman getting ambushed by the DT Riders or whoever and Moxley cutting a quick promo before some guys come out to run off the DTRs. After a forgettable women’s match – no, seriously, I know someone made a return and it’s their first match back, but considering how talent gets signed and showcased for a couple weeks before shoved into the back of the corner, it’s not worth getting back. And finally, the show ends with a contract signing between Kenny and Okada, with Okada seemingly associated with Don Callis because… sure, why not?

By the way, Kenny, Ken Shamrock called. He said he wants his fake blood capsules back.

Look, the one thing you can’t say is that they’re not building towards this All In show in Texas. I wouldn’t call it a great show because a lot of the stuff on here is just “meh”, but it’s putting in the work to get people interested in this show.
