See No Kane II (VIDEO SPECIAL)

Kane vs. Kane. Nerd vs. Bores. And some minor commentary bits.

Haven’t done one of these in a while. Clearly out of practice.

It’s not a house show; it’s an old-school video special. More of a remake than a proper “sequel” to anything in particular. There might be something extra at the end of the narrative bit, but that’s about it, really.

DTM House Show – Classicvania And The Evil Art Of Emulation (May 18th, 2019)

There’s no Mega Man Maker run today… instead, we’re sampling the wonderfully barebones Castlevania Anniversary Collection which includes an art book and a translated Kid Dracula. Recorded late night in a vain attempt to fall asleep. Maybe I should’ve played something more boring.

A shorter review of sorts will be posted on Friday.

Earthworm Jim 1+2 Compo Cart From… YOWIE WOWIE!

Source: https://store.iam8bit.com/products/earthworm-jim-1-2-25th-anniversary-edition

Those whacky iam8bit guys are at it again. This time, they’re releasing a limited run of an Earthworm Jim multicart thing for the Super NES containing the first two games and issued in either udder pink or cow-print cart shells for the incredible low price of $134.99 USD. Yowie Wowie! That’s a bargain!*

* It’s not a bargain.

For those who want original carts, they’re both relatively cheap loose for twenty bucks a pop in either SNES or Genesis varieties. You can also bring up other versions, but they’re not relevant to today’s latest braindead offer. It’s one thing to issue repros of really rare or obscure stuff that’s hard to get, but Jim is the farthest thing from “hard to get.”

If this is what modern physical media has come down to, then it needs to die a death and never come back. When people want to buy physical media for the sake of PLAYING THEM and not having to DOWNLOAD anything EXTRA, then I’ll start giving a shit again.

Ey Eee Dubya on Tee Enn Tee

So that’s it. TNT is back in the wrestling business, AEW has a TV deal of sorts, and Jamie Kellner is nowhere to be found. No real details on when the show will begin, what it will entail, and anything concrete, but give them credit. Four months in existence, they got a pretty sweet gig.

Now I don’t know what happens next, but hopefully, they will do well.

Holy Grail: The Search for WWE’s Most Infamous Lost Match (Bret Hart vs Tom Magee 1986)

Today was supposed to be a write-up on TNA’s own version of an ECW reunion from 2010, but this is much more important since it’s the long lost Bret Hart/Tom Magee match that is supposed to be this wondrous lost match that has been talked about and yet never seen.

This year’s Starrcast will have Bret Hart and Tom Magee get together on stage and talk about this match, but WWE, being the petty promotion that they are, decided to beat them to the punch and produce this thing. In this case, I’m not going to complain, but I’ve been interesting in seeing this match ever since it became more of a thing in recent years… and having it on the Network is the best way to do it.

Bit The Bullet, Gave 2K (Some) Money

So I finally bit the bullet and bought that WWE 2K19 game off Steam… primarily because I could grab the deluxe version for forty bucks and be none the wiser.

Look, here’s the thing. The first couple WWE 2K games I bought because they came out months late and only cost about 50-60 bucks for the full release plus all DLC. Then after a while, it fell into the same practice as the console releases and it was just too much for me. Money is a thing, especially for a game that I might not see myself get too much mileage out of unless there’s something I like.

In any event, whenever I get the chance, I’ll probably give it a shot. Don’t expect anything to come of this from a “content” standpoint. Sometimes, I do things for a lark and that doesn’t always translate to consumable digital entertainment.

As for the Holy Grail special… yeah, I’ve seen it. Thoughts on it tomorrow.

A Word About [REDACTED]

2025 Prescript
The following post was written in regards to the controversy and allegations surrounding Youtuber Jared “ProJared” Knabenbauer. Months after this post was made, Jared would post a video disproving a lot of what was said about him up to that point, which renders this post invalid as it was based on what has since been proven to be false information. I never did a follow-up post because I generally don’t touch on this sort of stuff, but in hindsight, I wish that I had because, again, this post was written when all the facts weren’t available or misrepresented.

Regardless, I’ve decided to keep this post up as is save for this opening statement because the fact is I’ve said these things and there’s no point in trying to hide it, but none of what is said here reflects my current thoughts on Jared, who continues to do his thing on Youtube. Maybe some day, I’ll give him another shot or two.

Da Man Versus Da Phenom… In Dat Country We're Not Supposed To Talk About

Source: https://www.f4wonline.com/wwe-news/wwe-announces-goldberg-vs-undertaker-saudi-arabia-283666

So, from what I’ve gathered, WWE has been doing whatever they could to get people to care about their Saudi shows aside from the somewhat controversial nature of the shows… you know, the stuff about women not being allowed to compete or that one time when WWE went ahead with their second Saudi show despite the murder of that one journalist.

The first time around, it was a fifty-man Royal Rumble event that was won by Straw the Braunyman. The second time around, Shawn Michaels wrestled with three old guys while Shane McMahon won a World Cup Tournament To Determine The Best In The World… fun fact: I have still yet to watch that show. And now, for the third go-around, dubbed the Super Showdown, Saudis can look forward to the dream match that was teased at a Royal Rumble years ago.

Bill Goldberg going one-on-one with the Undertaker… what’re the chances that the entrances last longer than the match itself? Also on tap for the show is Triple H going one-on-one with Randy Orton… again… as well as a FIFTY-MAN BATTLE ROYAL.

Oh yeah… I’m really excited for this thing…

Actually, no… no, I’m not.
