Listen, I don’t want to come across as someone who poo-poos everything Charlotte does because I don’t have the supposed “hate boner” that some other folks seem to have with her… even though they’ve long since given up on giving her more title belts than her daddy… and I do wish Ashley all the best in her new endeavor.
But at the same time… I’ve seen podcasts from Cody Rhodes, AJ Styles, Mark McCool, and even – for the briefest of instances before my ears cried out in utter agony – Stephanie McMahon. These are kinda, sorta dull, produced under the watchful eye of WWE broadcast parameters, so you only get the WWE-approved material and not anything that people would want to actually hear these people talk about. It wouldn’t surprise me that people would watch a Cody podcast these days and forget that he was one of the founding fathers of AEW because it never gets mentioned.
Apparently, the numbers aren’t there, but I guess we need content for that Radio WWE thing that was announced a couple months back starring the Busted Open shills… which they’ve always been LONG before this WWE deal came about, so it’s not like I’m suddenly picking on them. But at the same time, if they produced anything WORTH talking about, I probably would have said something to.
That having been, big kudos to Dwayne Johnson for the touching tribute to PAC and the best wishes to Tony Khan and crew. Whatever you want to say about the man’s business moves and whatever the case may be, never let it be said that he isn’t a genuinely kind-hearted soul because that man has heart more than anything. For the WWE brass to be miffed at one of their board members mentioning the unmentionable… fuck off and grow a pair, will you? Dwayne did something nice, regardless of who the guy was working for, and that earns some respect points.
