Nintendo Knobs The Cloud – News At 11…ish

Source: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/04/uh-oh-it-looks-like-select-switch-2-games-wont-support-cloud-saves

“I love the cloud. It’s wonderful,” he lied.

Okay, truth be told, cloud has been useful for somethings. It helps me keep all my text files in one place across my various computers, it keeps my saves safe for Nintendo Switch games whenever my memory card goes corrupt and I have to get a new one. Steam Cloud… is a spotty proposition, but then again, Steam was mostly played when Cloud was seen as the enemy.

So Nintendo Switch 2 is apparently not going to support the Cloud. I’m wondering if it’s because there’s a new Cloud set-up specifically for that platform or because Nintendo… is gonna Nintendo or something, whatever that means. I already have concerns about this thing regarding the spotty backwards compatibility no being quite as hopeful as initially thought, but now you’re telling me that my Switch 1 saves might not be valid for Switch 2?

I’m not going to predict dread or anything… unless you can’t play Metroid Dread on Switch 2. Then I’ll be pissed.

Now, of course, all of this could mean nothing… but doom and gloom speculation is what drives clicks on the Intermanets, so fuck it, let’s get in on that action because I’ve got nothing else to talk about today. It’s not like anything else is going on this weekend…

Oh… right…

Yeah, well… we’ll get to that eventually…

A Good Friday

Been a couple days since I’ve come home.

I’ve been mostly doing stuff around the house.

I’ve been cuddling my pup that I haven’t seen in over a week.

I’ve got a Dracula Blu-Ray that’s waiting to be played.

And I’ve got gimmicks to play with.

Later today, I step outside to see how that goes.

And then I got a dresser to build.

They call it Good Friday.

I think it applies today.

AEW Dynamite (April 16th, 2025) – Springin’ Breaking’

So we’ve got ourselves a special episode of Dynamite last night… and you know what? This was worth getting out of the hospital to watch… I’ll need to update the banner one of these days, but I can safely say that for the first time in a long time, I enjoyed an episode of Dynamite from top to bottom without much cause for complaint.

Well… almost.

This episode is special, for it is the 289th episode of Dynamite, which surpasses the 288 episode run of WCW Monday Nitro on the Turner networks. Regardless of what you think of the show’s quality as of late – and I’ve had more than my fair share of issues – that is quite the accomplishment and AEW should be applauded for reaching this point. There’s a part of me that wishes AEW chose a better venue – possibly the Mall Of America if that still exists or Club La Vela – but that’s okay. The current arena set-up looks pretty sweet, too. And there’s always the breaking of WCW Saturday Night’s 1992-2000 run in about 198 episodes.

WWE Payback 2020

I said I needed a palette cleanser… I’m not sure that this qualifies, but hey, it’s a WWE PPV from the Thunderdome. And quite a notable one, for it is the first PPV main event for the returning Roman Reigns, who would make waves on the go-home edition of Smackdown by aligning himself with the former advocate of Brock Lesnar and future wiseman, Paul Heyman.

That’s right, kids. This is where the Tribal Chief legend begins… and it’s at the cost of one big stupid dummy and a fiend in a silly mask.

Enough talk. Let’s dive in for… more talk.

Chapter 394,939 Of I Stopped Caring About Marvel Ages Ago (But Andor Is Good)

I’m going to spare you the usual rhetoric about how my interest in the Marvel movie stuff ended with Endgame. I’ve said that bit countless times and I don’t think I’m going to do much by repeating what’s been said before. I keep an eye on things, but nothing that outright piques my interest. Even the new Daredevil series – which I’ve heard good things about – didn’t really bat an eye.

However, someone sent me a digital gift card for Disney Plus recently as a “get well soon” gift. And look, I’m not going to lie. I’m still not a fan of the Disney Plus interface… but I’ll make use of it if someone is going to foot the bill in this case.

So rather than watch any of the new Marvel stuff, I’ve been rewatching old episodes of Home Improvement, the Tim Allen comedy series from the 90s. It was fun revisiting that show.

My brother also suggested that I’d give Andor a shot… and I caught the first three episodes of the show… and I actually enjoyed it… honestly, doing a prequel series to a Star Wars side story where the entire cast of that movie dies at the end (sorry if I spoiled the movie for everybody) seems like a bit of a silly thing, but goddamned if I wasn’t hooked on this show. Part of it has to do with the fact that, much like Rogue One, it doesn’t really on the usual Jedi/Sith stuff. This is more grounded stuff, depicting life under the Empire’s rule.

Three episodes in and this is a damned fine show… and not even by the lowly Star Wars standards of the modern product. I mean this is REALLY good stuff. So good that I’m almost tempted to give Rogue One another watch one of these days… now if that isn’t high praise, then I don’t know what is.

Hospite Stay 4

The latest Youtube Post…

“Hello there… a quick update of sorts…
Assuming nothing else comes up, I should be heading home sometime this week.
I’m still on the mend and it’ll be a while before things get up and running ’round these parts…
But the worst has come and gone… now begins the healing process.
Will update soon…
Later…”

Yeah, so… a rather uneventful weekend… a few check-ups, a few blood tests, but if nothing else, I’ll be treated externally and should be headed home some time this week.

Someone figured that I wasn’t eating their veg and maybe I shouldn’t be sticking around… can’t say I blame them.

I’ll be perfectly fair here; the staff at the hospital has been nothing but pleasant. Sometimes, they get a bad rap because of a piss-poor excuse for a public health system and yeah, I may have been a bit… reactive in a prior post… but they’ve kept good care of me both physically and mentally, they’ve been largely friendly and helpful, largely complementary, and while I might not always be the easiest patient to deal with, I will never find myself at a point where I would slag on the people working here for being uncaring pricks. They just work for a system that is largely run by uncaring pricks.

Someone At TNA Is Smart…

Source: https://itrwrestling.com/news/nixed-wwe-plans-for-joe-hendry-revealed/

Apparently, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry was supposed to appear on WWE television so he could feud with THE MIZ and then take a pinfall loss… and then someone at TNA (someone named Ariel Shnerner) said no because they didn’t want their reigning WORLD CHAMPION to lose to THE MIZ.

That TNA executive deserves a raise for protecting the integrity of their World title.

Hey, remember when WWF-contracted wrestler TAZZZ defeated WCW-contracted wrestler Mike Awesome for the ECW World title at a random ECW house show and then appeared on Smackdown as the ECW World Champion where he took a pinfall loss to Triple H? Because Pepperidge Farm sure as shit does.

And look, I’m sure Joe would have been happy with the added exposure of being on MONDAY NIGHT RAW with the TNA World Title on his shoulder… but even he would have to balk at sacrificing the integrity of that title (for whatever that’s worth these days) to show up on RAW and lose to THE MIZ.

It only goes to show that even in the much-ballyhooed Paul Levesque era that you all worship on a pedestal, there comes the occasional dumbass attack that produces stupid ideas like this.
