RAW After Mania (April 21st, 2025) – Well, It’s A Raw After Mania Alright…

Well, some twelve hours after the Ramblemania post went up, you’re getting the RAW After Mania musings, because that’s also a thing we do around here. Also, this is Night Four of the Buy One Get One Free All You Can Eat Extravaganza that’s set to conclude tomorrow with NXT, which I will not be watching.

Anyway, I’ll save the proper show musings for after the break to avoid spoiling days-old programming for those who haven’t seen it yet. Though, for what it’s worth, just watch Night 2 and wait until they upload the main event of Night 1 to Youtube.

Ramblemania 41

“If you think the grass is so green on the other side, be my guest. Go ahead. Leave. Main event night four of a buy-one-get-one-free extravaganza and then get released faster than you last in the sack.”
CM Punk, AEW Dynamite – January 5th, 2022

You know… sometimes, it doesn’t take a whole lot of thought.

When word broke that CM Punk was finally getting his Wrestlemania main event, that line immediately popped to mind and the banner for this event soon followed. It just comes together on its own without needing to break my head over these things… and look, I’m not going to begrudge Punk. This was something he wanted and I’m glad that he’s getting that chance as well as the fat paycheck that comes with it. At the same time… how do I not go along with that?

I’m sure some folks will be riled up. Others will more likely not give a shit.

In any event, Wrestlemania took place this past weekend and I suppose I should be thankful that I was able to watch this at home instead of a hospital bed. Admittedly, I wasn’t too excited for this one. You had the main events to look forward to, but everything felt like stuff booked to fill time. Still, it’s that time where everyone puts on their absolute best and… well, we’ll see if they actually went ahead and did that.

Minor Traffic Violations At Wrestlemania XLI

Some traffic related incidents occurred at last night’s Wrestlemania 41 event… and before anyone asks, the Ramblemania post will be up this coming Wednesday and yes, it’ll cover both nights. There will also be a RAW After Mania posted later that day.

Anyway…

Stone Cold Steve Austin drives an ATV down a ramp and hits a barricade that startles a fan at ringside. Apparently, the fan was unharmed, but none too happy about the incident. Do I smell a lawsuit? Who knows? Maybe WWE offers the fan a makegood package or something as an apology for the incident.

This was clearly an accident and Austin probably slipped or something. Obviously, they’ll need to be more careful next time.

And then after a show, a fan was hit by a tour bus as it was headed towards the WWE press media thing. If the fan was running after the bus, that’s probably on them. And if the fan was just standing there… that’s also on them because they should know better than to stand in the way of a tour bus that’s in a hurry.

This was clearly an act of stupidity on the part of the fan and hopefully, they have learned to fuck off out of the way of incoming traffic.

Have a safe Easter Monday, kids.

Not A Fantastic Trailer

I’ve seen the new Fantastic Four trailer… I don’t feel like embedding it here.

To be honest, I’m not really feeling this one. The performances feel a bit flat, the special effects are not all that great, the new Silver Surfer looks worse than the old Silver Surfer from the old movies, and there’s no chemistry among the cast, which paints a grim picture when this is supposed to be one big happy family.

I don’t know… can I just go back to the old movies? Maybe get in touch with Roger Corman’s estate and get his version of FF available to the masses? I mean, if you want me to say something positive, it’s not Fan Four Stick from 2015, but that’s a very, VERY low bar to surpass.

It’s a bit of a shame too, because I actually do dig the retro-futuristic vibe of the world they’re living in, I like how we’re going into this at a point where the Fantastic Four are already hailed as heroes and this is basically their toughest challenge yet.  There’s just enough there that I actually want to find something to look forward to with this one… but at the same time, after two trailers, I come away less enthusiastic about this film than I was before. And that’s without diving into some of the creative choices behind certain aspects or some of the press stuff that has people in a fit, which… look, I generally don’t care about that stuff. All I care about is a movie that’s entertaining and if I get that much, I’m satisfied.

So, yeah… I’m not ready to throw the towel on this yet. At best, this is looking to be “straight to DVD” for me, but maybe a final trailer is what I need to really be excited for this thing. It’d be nice to be excited for a Marvel movie; I haven’t been that way for a while.

I don’t know… we’ll see, I suppose.

Easter Musings And Other Updates

First off, a happy Easter to those who celebrate. I’ve just finished my morning doses and I’m prepping for a turkey dinner with the family later in the day that has me a bit anxious, but… we’ll see how that goes.

For the moment, I’ve been feeling fine. I’ve been largely experimenting with what I can and cannot eat, mostly in terms of what gives me bad bowel movements and what does not. For the most part, I haven’t had the serious pains or bouts of diarrhea that had been a thing for the past few months, but I’m not ruling out that possibility. What I’ve got is a temporary fix that can get my life back on track… and yet sometimes, I wonder if it’s actually worth the effort.

Forget that last part. I’m thinking the quiet part loud there.

Beyond that, not much else going on. I’ve managed to finish rendering a couple video reviews that should be going up some time this week. I’m also uploading an old review from years ago that somehow never made it to the Youtube channel for some reason, so those folks are getting a bit of a bonus. There’s even a brand-spanking new edit of another old review that really, really needed it.

I was planning on watching Wrestlemania 41 Part 2 later tonight, but considering that Part 1 was largely a slog to sit through, I’m debating whether I should hold off until Monday morning, since I’m going to be off for the next couple weeks to recover from my recent episode. In any event, there will be a new Ramblemania this coming Wednesday and possibly a RAW After Mania musings since that’s also a thing that we do regularly around here.

That’s your Sunday sermon, as it were.

Later.
