R.I.P. Adam West

Heard the sad news that Adam West – the deep-voiced actor perhaps best known for his role as Batman in the 1960s television show of the same name – recently passed away of leukemia. Mr. West’s role as Batman is one that most people (myself included) associate him with and while that has been a source of a career stall for a period, his appearances in Family Guy has given audiences a newfound appreciation for the man.

My heartfelt wishes and condolences to the West family and friends.

WWE Extreme Rules 2017

Yep, so it’s that night of the year where WWE supposedly goes extreme, but really, the only thing extreme about this show was the massive migraine I suffered after watching it. Said migraine may or may not have anything to do with this show, but more than likely not.

Extreme Rules is slowly becoming the modern day WWE equivalent of the old WCW Uncensored PPV, where it’s supposed to be a night that’s unsanctioned and outside the boundaries of good taste, but is really just an excuse to have a bunch of goofy gimmick matches on the card that couldn’t be deemed worthy of turning into their own individual PPV. And that’s certainly the case here.

Here’s a fun drinking game for you folks in honor of Rip Rogers’ Twitter diatribe; every time someone takes a …………………………….dive, take a shot. Have fun.

Let’s Talk About The Ratings, Bro

In a break from the norm where we usually spell out doom and gloom for TNA Impact Wrestling – though, make no mistake; we’re well prepared for that occasion should the need arises – I’d figured it would be fun if we spell out doom and gloom for World Wrestling Entertainment instead. And man, if there was ever a time where such talk is worth taking really seriously, this would be it.

Watched RAW and SMACKDOWN for the first time in a long time.

Might as well gather five points from each show…

First off, some RAW notes:

1 – That segment with Alexa Bliss and the whole “This Is Your Life” bit was absolute shit. Bad acting, bad dialogue, and Bayley is made to look like a chump again. Good lord, this was pretty shit.

2 – Enzo’s been attacked… gee, I wonder who it did. (Hint: It’s Cig Bass.)

3 – Kurt Angle’s in trouble because of a phone call… is this how they’re bringing Stephanie back? Because if that’s the case, it looks like I’m one and done.

4 – Miz vs. Ambrose for the IC title… didn’t I already see this shit on Smackdown? (And it was done better there too.)

5 – The big multi-man thing isn’t working for me. Not to mention the prize that awaits the winner (getting suplexed by the beast from Steroid City) is kinda shit.

So, no go for RAW.

As far as Smackdown goes…

1 – Baron Corbin bragging about beating Sami Zayn in a segment hosted by a guy who has beaten Sami Zayn for years is nothing worth bragging about.

2 – A multi-woman contest gets thrown out the window to make way for the ladies to have a Money In The Bank match to call their own. Gee, didn’t see that coming. (Totally saw that coming…)

3 – Oh joy, it’s New Day vs. Usos… again, didn’t I see this shit on RAW already?

4 – Randy Orton cuts his usual droning promo while WWE Champion Jinder Mahinder appears on screen to gloat or something. Meh.

And that’s about all I got… oh wait, missing one point.

5 – Dolph Ziggler beating AJ Styles… because I guess I’m supposed to care about Dolph Ziggler all of a sudden.

There. Now I’m done.
