About That Enzo Rap

So former WWE Superstar, non-rapist fellow, and all-around nusance Enzo Amore released a rap video and… I didn’t listen to it.

I’m not a rap guy; I like some rap when it has a good beat to it, but I generally don’t care for it. So when someone like a former WWE guy who was already grating on the ears when he was a featured player on TV decides to cut a rap song, I’m not going to show much interest either.

While I did not listen to the song, I did see the video – the mute function is a beautiful thing, after all. And when I say that I “saw” the video, I mean to say that I skipped through a whole bunch of it, which apparently featured a fat guy, a coffin, and Enzo flipping off the viewer. Suddenly, that ad-blocking gimmick on my computer makes me thankful I’m sending cents his way because of this stupid thing.

In any event, if that’s what he wants to do now, then all the best to him and hope he does well regardless of what direction he takes his future endeavors.

So long as he doesn’t take any more sick bumps in a rasslin wring. Lord Cyrus might not like that.

SFB Picks Up

This Star Fleet Battles campaign that I’ve been playing with my brother since the tail end of last year has been stalled for the past couple months. Partly because of my recent injury that left me at home and partly due to other stuff coming up. I was home for a month and big brother was home for a month. And in that time, we’ve played probably one game… which is really, really sad.

But it looks like things are eventually going to pick up. Forty-three turns in and I’m looking to start work on my first Starbase. Just as well because the number of space or planet-bound installations (comprising mostly construction yards, base stations, and early-era docks) is miniscule compared to the 100+ starships and freighters I have to play with.

Also, we found ourselves some white hex sheets and are in the process of converting everything from graph paper to hex spaces. Turns out it’s not that complex of a system, but moving things around is a bit trickier in some regards.

Anyway, this was a completely random posting in what may very well be a series of them today.

WWE No Mercy 2003

When I watched WWE Vengeance 2003 some time ago, I was pleasantly surprised by how good that show was. After sitting through a number of RAW-exclusive PPVs that were the absolute drizzling shits, Smackdown’s first PPV was something of a palette cleanser and that lifted my spirits a bit. Sure, Smackdown had its share of bad angles, but its first PPV outing gave me hope that maybe things weren’t ALL bad.

And then I watched that year’s No Mercy PPV… and those hopes were dashed almost instantly.

Don't Call It A Comeback

Tomorrow, Atari SA launches its IndieGoGo pre-order campaign for its mysterious Ataribox VCS system. And if there is one thing that I am hoping will come out of this initial campaign, it’s that it answers this one simple question that can only be summed up in the best way possible.

“What the fuck are you trying to sell me, Atari?”

I’ve been holding off on the Rambles video on Ataribox for the simple reason that I wanted to wait until the campaign kicks off (or gets shitcanned again, whichever comes first) and perhaps reveal something a little more substantial about this upcoming project that has been a lot of hype over a whole lot of nothing. To say that there is nothing to get excited about over Ataribox would be stating the obvious and to compare Ataribox to other failed ventures such as the Ouya or the Gamestick would be beating a dead horse; a genre that Atari SA knows all too well, having done just that with the Atari brand since the dawn of time.

Nonetheless, I remain somewhat curious to see whether this thing will be worth the hype. Initial impressions based on what little info was made available was not very encouraging and any sort of ridicule that this has garnered is (sadly) well deserved, but maybe the next info drop will yield something more substantial that would present this Ataribox project as a potential alternative to the currently stagnant video game console scene rather than another in a long line of failed microconsole gimmicks that people are hoping would be viable because it has a familiar brand behind it.

Anyway, we’ll see what happens tomorrow and maybe I’ll make a video about it. Or maybe I’ll just put the dog to sleep.

About That Curse Of The Moon Thing…

Might as well get it out of the way… yes, I have played it. I’ve sampled what little I could and I wouldn’t mind making THAT into a House Show thing in lieu of the Mega Maker stuff. Hell, give me a couple more months and I might have enough material for a review thing to fill a day in October… more on that (much) later, I suppose.

However, we’ll see if any of that comes to fruition. By this time, as this post is getting “published” or whatever, the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will be unlocked and chances are I’ll be spending quite a bit of time on that one unless the game hits me with SecuRom or whatever bullshit DRM that comes packaged with it. Shit DRM is the main reason why my play time with Sonic Mania (an excellent game, by the way) has been very limited.

On the bright side, we got the spring cleaning shit on Steam out of the way, so that’s something.

Anyway, gotta run.

Later.

For The Record…

As of today, I have yet to see the Solo movie. I have mixed thoughts on the matter and I’ve even seen a couple pictures of supposedly empty theatres showing the film. It might be a while, but I’d imagine sooner or later, I’ll catch a weekend viewing somewhere down the line… assuming big brother is up for it, of course.

That having been said, that logo in the recent review was going to happen regardless of whether the movie was good or bad… and I may very well keep it for any Star Wars-related fails in the future.
