It’s back…
AWA Superclash III
The American Wrestling Association was on its last legs.
Superclash III is perhaps best known for two things; for being the AWA’s one and only attempt at a pay-per-view event that drew dismal numbers and also for the title unification match between AWA champion Jerry “The King” Lawler and WCCW champion Kerry Von Erich. That match has been featured on a number of DVD compilations – most notably the Spectacular Legacy of the AWA set that is worth checking out if you can find a copy – but I’ve never seen the full show until recently, with the show being readily available on the WWE Network.
This event was a joint venture between Verne Gagne’s AWA, Jerry Jarrett’s CWA based in Memphis, and the Von Erich’s World Class promotion. Several years later, the CWA and WCCW would be merged into the USWA and AWA would go out of business… so, I’m guessing the show didn’t turn out so well.
And if you need an even less subtle hit, this is being posted on a day where I follow an annual tradition of reviewing a bad game. Said review is coming later today for those who care.
But enough about that. Let’s get on with the show!

We need more shooters on the ol’ PC Engine. There are clearly not enough of these fucking things.
Walter Blunt To Reprise Role As Former Starfleet Captain

Captain Picard has seen better days, I’m afraid.
“It’s not going to be the same Jean-Luc Picard,” says Sir Patrick Stewart on returning to the role he made famous a quarter-century ago. “He may no longer be a captain in this new series. And how can you blame him? He went from being Captain of the Enterprise to Facepalming Legend to Family Guy fodder and even suffered through the Emoji movie. It’s going to be an interesting series, regardless.”
Of course, that’s not the series we’re going to get… but hey, at least it’s post-Nemesis for those who care about that sort of thing.
Review #598 – Mega Man Anniversary Collection (Xbox)
What a lovely boon for Xbox owners… I would have preferred the old MM cartoon over the new one, but it’s better than nothing.
No pun intended, I promise you.

Silly Doodle – Technical Issues… They Are An @$$hole

Due to technical issues, I’m pushing back video releases to a couple days. In the meantime, here’s a quick doodle of a dog giving her thoughts on the next epic.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection Follow-Up: Works Fine On My End (So Far)
In a follow-up to a previous post, I eventually downloaded and installed the recently released Mega Man X Legacy Collection compilations from Steam and gave them what can be described as a rather quick playthrough each of the games. And while I’m sure everyone’s experience is going to be different based on their set-ups, I found the collections to work just fine. Performance-wise, I didn’t seem to encounter any of the problems that others have come across.
Mind you, I’ve been playing it on the default screen settings in windowed mode and chances are these issues may pop up on higher resolutions, but since the chances of me playing fullscreen are slim to none since I use windowed views to capture footage, this hasn’t proven to be a massive issue… yet.
In any event, the collections work fine. There are quibbles to be had as far as the package is concerned, but in terms of performance, I’ve yet to encounter any major issues. Now whether this merits a video or not is an entirely different story, but… let’s not cross that road just yet.
