WCW/nWo Uncensored ’98

Yeah, I saw this one back in the day… I don’t remember much about it, but I doubt it’ll be as entertaining as that one show where Eric Bischoff beat Vince McMahon via countout in a make-believe street fight or something.

Anyway, while March saw the Austin era begin at Wrestlemania, WCW fans had this show to look forward to… well, let’s jump into it.

Didn’t Watch Survivor Series…

So I didn’t catch last night’s Survivor Series PPV… but in reading the results to the show – this latest edition of “brand supremacy” or whatever they call it to get a bunch of people in red and blue shirts to fight each other because… reasons… apparently, all the matches were won by RAW. So… why bother wasting my time with this shit?

Though I’ve heard good things about Brock vs. Bryan, so maybe I’ll just check that match out… but don’t expect me to do a full write-up or anything for the whole show because that ain’t happening.

Ordered The Book… Got It Sooner Than Expected

Ordered a copy of this a couple days ago and came in sooner than I thought it would. Praise the glorious patrons of Amazon Prime for timely shipping times.

I’ve never had one of these things before (the publisher has made a bunch of these apparently), so I don’t know the general gist of what to expect beyond a bunch of pictures and some behind the scenes tidbits.

For those wondering, it’s got a few design sketches, some screenshots, some behind the scenes photos for the MMPR years, and lots of promotional imagery that we’ve seen plenty of times over the years. It’s not the deepest historical retrospective and it’s not quite the “tell-all” or “down and dirty” reference book that will reveal anything that hasn’t already been said before, but for a general overview on the history of the franchise and some choice design material to see how it came, it’s a cool little thing to check out that’s meaty enough to give each entry in the franchise a little bit to shine.

This is my bedtime read, by the way.
