AEW Dynamite (June 10th, 2020): Stuff Happens And That’s Okay.

For whatever reason, I feel compelled to talk about this latest edition of Dynamite… which means whatever was supposed to be up today and tomorrow will be pushed back to the weekend.

AEW Double Or Nothing 2020

So I didn’t watch the show live… but after hearing how much of a wonderful show this was, I ended up getting the replay about a week or so later and I’m kinda glad I did…? I guess…

So yes, this is AEW’s second Double Or Nothing PPV, originally to eminate from Las Vegas before Corona forced them to move to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville with some of the wrestlers playing the role of fans; pretty much the only place they’ve been doing Dynamite as of late. Highlighting the show are the crowning of a new TNT champion, a hard hitting Wotld title bout straight out of Combat Zone Wrestling (but tamer), and the Stadium Stampede.

I’m excited to revisit this again, so let’s do it.

Breaking The Week Down…

Quick notes of sorts…

– The SMB2 and SMB3 reviews will be up Thursday and Friday respectively. From there, expect the next few weeks after to be nothing but Tuesday and Friday reviews from then on.

– This week’s PPV Musings will be the AEW Double Or Nothing show from a few weeks ago and then next week will be the February 1997 In Your House PPV. For the four people wondering, I have not watched the Takeover show from yesterday.

– There will be no daily post tomorrow. The focus will be more on trying to build some stability to the website.

Continual downtime for another month or so and the lack of desire to go anywhere beyond basic essentials means spending more time working on the blog, including much needed work that I’ve held off for years and must get around to putting together.

Laughing And Crying

eGadget Article begins with “PC gamers have to wait a little bit longer to enjoy titles like Battlefield and the Star Wars Battlefront franchise.”

I respond with “There are people who enjoy those games?”

I laughed… and then I read the rest of the article.

So EA Access, a subscription service thing, is making its way to Steam… which means more DRM (EA Access) on top of DRM (Steam) bullshit. And that’s why the only EA stuff I play is from twenty plus years ago.

WWF In Your House #12 – It’s Time (December 1996 PPV)

The final IYH show from 1996 and then we’ll talk Double Or Nothing next week… unless you want me to comment on the Shittiest Wrestling Match Evar or something.

Fun Fact: The title of this In Your House event, It’s Time, originates from Vader’s catchphrase “It’s Time! It’s VADER TIME!” This was supposed to be his headline event, but… you know… PLAN CHANGED and so we got Sid instead.

Thanks, Shawn.
