The Cold Embrace Of Dark

It’s almost five in the morning and just as I’m starting to fall asleep, the sun is about to come up.

Amazingly, it still feels pretty cold in here. Probably the humidity. Heating’s helped a bit.
It seems like I’m making up for lost sleep during the week with the early bedtimes, but as soon as Friday night hits, I’m up until the very start of dawn. Strangely, it’s during these late hours that I feel more relaxed. Peace and quiet often comes from this time… and yet it’s also when I make the most noise.
Nothing to wake the neighbors; I’ve heard worse behind their walls. The wails of dogs and the banging of the bodies… nothing violent. A sign of loneliness for the former; pure, unconstrained passion for the latter.
Funny how, during the day, I’m going through the motions, but as day turns to night and the background noise dies out, I feel the most invigorated. It’s been like this for a while now… this settling into the new norm.
Part of me misses the old days, while the other is fine with what’s there.
Another part… that’s a work in progress.
As is everything in life.

Old Tommy Interview Ages Poorly (And It's Not JDF!)

Source: https://www.videogameschronicle.com/features/interviews/intellivision-amico/

Came across this old interview that Tommy Tallarico did when he was still the head of Intellivision. Naturally, he was talking about the Amico and bringing up points about family and such. One thing I noticed he did was slag on Stadia and Atari. With Stadia, he brought up that Google had a multi-million dollar campaign that failed to get people interested in Stadia… of course, it should be mentioned that Stadia was a largely worthless piece of shit, but we’ll let that slide.
He also brought Atari’s various attempts to bring Ataribox to life, calling out their stumbling efforts at crowdfunding and pointing out that Amico has more pre-orders than Ataribox. I’ll admit that Ataribox got off to a rough start and we all mocked the thing as it kept getting delayed and news about people leaving the project got out. But here’s the thing; Ataribox did eventually make its way into the hands of those who ordered the thing. It may not be the new hot thing on store shelves, but there are videos of people actually in possession of the machine and have showcased the machine to be fully functional PC boxes.
Amico, on the other hand? All that’s come out is an unboxing video to show that it exists and talks that it might not even see the light of day because Intellivision doesn’t have any money and could be on the verge of bankruptcy. It seems almost humorous that years ago, everyone thought Atari was the big joke and Amico was going to be the more likely to materialize.
Not trying to rail on Tommy or anything; I just find it funny that he would bring up shit about Atari and Stadia and yet both products are out on the market while Amico’s future is uncertain. Hopefully, things turn around for them and they’ll get Amico out sooner or later.

The TNG Cast To Reunite In Season 3 Of Blunt Talk: The Next Generation

Source: https://blog.trekcore.com/2022/04/star-trek-picard-beams-up-entire-next-generation-cast-for-season-3/

The question now is not whether these beloved characters will somehow get ruined or killed or both, nor is it whether this talk of a “proper send-off” is eventually countered with the response that we already had a “proper send-off” called All Good Things… Nor is it wondering why you’re building up hype for the following season when you’re not even done with the current one. I’m sure all these are vital questions but they’re not the most important question.,

The question now is whether Worf will look like Worf.

That is the question that pre-occupies our people, Captain Kirk. We need breathing room!

Earth, Hitler, 1938…

I beg your pardon?

*shrugs*

As far as Wesley not being included, well, he is included… in the after show.

And I, for one, am more than pleased to see him stay there.

Shill Sheaton indeed.

Breath Of The Wild Sequel Delayed To 2023

Source: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/03/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-2-delayed-to-spring-2023

Unsurprising move that the sequel to Breath Of The Wild is being delayed another year. Might as well port of some of those Wii U HD remakes onto the console that people are clamoring for because I don’t think the Switch has enough Zelda games on there. Hell, give us the 3DS ports of the N64 games while you’re at it… or the Game Boy stuff… give Switch as much Zelda stuff as possible because we don’t have enough on there at the moment.

Sonic Movie Producers Jumping Gun To Produce A Sonic Universe

Source: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/03/sonic-movie-producer-talks-about-creating-a-sonic-cinematic-universe

So word has it that the people behind the Sonic movies are in the midsts of constructing their own little Sonic Cinematic Universe… because nothing in movies can be just a series; we have to have a whole UNIVERSE of movies. Can we not wait until this movie makes money before we start thinking about making spin-offs and shit like that?
Why is it that every brain fart idea people have when making a movie is that they’re going to follow it up with a whole UNIVERSE of movies? Can’t we just focus on making good movies? Because when you focus on making good movies, you get GOOD MOVIES THAT PEOPLE WILL PAY TO SEE. Make nothing but movies for the sake of making a universe and you get shit like The Mummy, which bombed so badly any and all plans that Universe had for a Dark Universe went down the shitter where they belong.
But you know what? Let’s forget all that. Let’s build a Sonic universe without knowing if the second film makes money first… fortunately, I don’t think we’d have to worry about that because I’ve heard good things about the sequel. The attitude that comes with is what irks me.

Steiner Bros. Going To The WWE Hall Of Fame

Well, it’s appropriate that Hell froze over today because it’s fucking cold out. I wonder if Big Poppa Pump found that physical Hall Of Fame that he says don’t exist. Actually, I’m wondering if we can finally change Bron Breakker’s name to something Steiner-esque.

Seth's Path To Wrestlemania In This Link

Send this link over to Seth Rollins if he wants a sure fire path to Wrestlemania.

It worked for John Cena and he even got a match with the Undertaker.
There are days when I wish I hadn’t retired the WTF label on this blog because what a stupid storyline this is. If I didn’t have a path to Mania, I’d stay the fuck home.

Quick Note On Big E and Scott Hall

We unfortunately have to start the week with a couple donwers.
Last Friday on Smackdown, Big E suffered a horrendous neck injury, taking an overhead suplex and landing right on his head – they say broken neck, which is a bit of a misnomer because a broken neck means you’re dead, but he has a couple fractured discs in his vertebrae and fortunately he doesn’t need surgery, but his prospects for an in-ring future is uncertain because one of those discs is the C1 and when that breaks, you’re dead. So, tough break for the dude. I wish him a speedy recover, I hope for the best. I saw the clip, that sucked, and look, hoping for the best with Big E.
Around that same, Scott Hall was on life support following three heart attacks due to hip surgery having gone wrong and last word, according to Kevin Nash, is that he’ll be taken off life support once the family gets together. So, that’s also sad and I can offer thoughts and prayers to the rest of the family and friends of Scott Hall, who was a man of many demons, but also a man with a great mind for the business, as well as one of the most enduring stars of wrestling’s hottest period. Godspeed, Mr. Hall, and thanks for the memories.
Nothing else to say at this point. Later.

TMNT Cowabunga Collection – An Actual Thing From Konami In 2022

So, this is a thing, apparently…. and it’s supposedly due out in 2022 in both physical and digital formats. Someone ought to let Konami know that 2022 is the present year we live in.
Other than that, an excellent announcement of a package that, quite frankly, I never thought was ever going to be a thing. And it appears to be the whole classic TMNT package; both arcade titles, four NES games, four 16-bit titles, and the Game Boy trilogy with various Japanese counterparts and some quality of life enhancements.
Don’t scoff about “multiple versions” of the same game; the NES port of the arcade game (TMNT2) is a different beast from the arcade original, the SNES port of Turtles In Time has more stuff than the arcade version, and the three games to bare the name Tournament Fighters are completely unique to the consoles they were released onto. Suffice it to say, you’re gonna get some value out of this collection, even if the asking price is a little higher than past collections.
Still, I’m actually looking forward to this one a little more than that Shredder’s Revenge game that DotEmu is working on. I’ll definitely be picking this up and for those wondering, yes, I have reviews of various TMNT games that I’ll try and spotlight over the course of several days.
