A new Mega Man cartoon from Man of Action… a potential Mega Man feature film from Fox… but no NEW Mega Man game from Capcom?
For shame.

Go figure… so how long before WWE gives Superfly the Benoit/Hogan treatment?
Uploaded this onto Dailymotion back in October 2014 and never got around to posting this on Youtube until recently because… well, I’ll let the opening blurb explain. Coincidentally, I took the time to post some thoughts on IG’s recent “Opening Up” video and… well, again, I’ll let the video speak for itself. Otherwise, enjoy some rubbish commentary over rubbish wrestling video game schlock.

One wonders if the pilot was competent and didn’t let Troi drive the shuttle, Tasha Yar would still be alive… Just saying.
A sudden burst of curiosity this morning prompted to check out the Facebook page for that “MMPR In Name Only” Fan Film thing that caused a huge ruckus a year or so back. No real rhyme or reason; I just wanted to see if they had finally, at long last, released their first episode that has been hyped and hooplahed since the dawn of time.
And much to my surprise* and awe*, the page was updated with a couple test shots… Their first episode, that they’ve been promising since forever, has yet to see the light of day.
I don’t know about you… but methinks the folks who donated money to this thing should probably press further into the matter because this looks fishy. I mean, look, fellas. When I made the crack about Lionsgate putting out their own trilogy of MMPR films by the time your first episode came out in the year 2024, I WAS SPEAKING METAPHORICALLY!
This is why I’m generally weary of crowdfunding efforts.
*Not really, but work with me here.

How long before the Hammer gets the Hogan treatment?
What are your thoughts on the possibility of John Cena winning his 16th World Title and how big of a deal it would be?
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if Cena ends up getting another world title reign or two because one way or another, it’s going to happen. Whether it takes place at Summerslam or whenever, it is going to happen and it wouldn’t be the worst thing ever. Some people might be miffed at the idea of Cena tying or possibly breaking Ric Flair’s record for World Title reigns (official records and Ric himself said it was 16, so that’s what I’m going with), but I’ve always believed that if anyone were to break that record, I’d rather it be Cena than Triple H.
How big of a deal would it be? Nowhere as big of a deal as WWE would make it out to be if it happened, because a World title win nowadays isn’t that big a deal. Especially since there was a long stretch of time where it was very easy to get World title reigns. And that’s something that’s been lost; is that the World Title is supposed to be the Ultimate prize, the holy grail, the crown… and it’s just degraded to a prop whose sole purpose is to move the story forward. And unfortunately, there hasn’t been a time where the title felt important since Daniel Bryan won it back in Mania 30. Because when he won it, it felt like a big deal because he treated it as such and you’re able to buy into it.
John Cena wins the title at a ladder match and it’s like… meh. Brock Lesnar beats John Cena in an overrated performance that everyone calls dominant and awesome, but is more like dull and boring. But, he has name value, so there’s this pretense that he’ll bring that importance to the World Title, but really is just to fuck off at his farms for the rest of the year until they need him for random appearance that isn’t Wrestlemania. And while Seth Rollins cashing in was a high point in that main event, what happened afterwards felt otherwise. But I don’t want to rag on that. Cena possibly win a couple World Titles? Wouldn’t surprise me. Would it be that big a deal? Not a chance. Because if Brock ending the Streak didn’t feel like a big deal, why would this?

Snipped this from someone’s Tumblr somewhere, who apparently snipped this from some site citing Collider as a source, so the legitimacy of this information is somewhat questionable… but if this is a real deal… yeah, this is really depressing.
Is there any reason why we absolutely need to give these characters drab, disturbing backstories? I can understand, maybe, one or two to keep things interesting, but ALL OF THEM? Is there any reason why we can’t (for once) have a movie featuring superpowered teens have a bit of levity to it? These character bios feels like every other worthless teen-angst wankfest that are bereft of anything resembling charm or creativity, almost as if they looked to shitty “fan films” that have gone down paths that in no way fit the material you’re trying to make a movie out of.
Look, the new Fantastic Four movie tried to re-imagine everything from the original comic and IT SUCKED BADLY. Critics blasted it, moviegoers are ignoring it like the plague… why repeat the same mistake with this movie? Are we really looking forward to the day when the movie comes out, people watch it, and then will go, “Yeah, I liked the first movie better.”
This depresses me greatly.
And, just to get it out of the way, I know the original show’s characters were relatively paper-thin in personalities. Yes, I’d want something a little more developed than what the show offered. But this doesn’t feel “more developed” or anything. It feels like a bunch of character traits concocted from a randomizer and tossed together without rhyme or reason. It feels… meh.
Well…

Because why make crappy new games when you remake and fuck up your old ones? I mean, seriously… how badly have things gotten when the few games most people are looking forward to remakes of the old ones? And how much will disappointment set in when, beneath the shiny graphics and “remastering” of stuff, the game turns out to play like absolute shit and why did they remake a classic, etc. etc. etc.?
Good for them that they’re doing it, I guess… but shit, what’s the point?
