Bores Has Special Editions of Breakout and Night Driver

The title of this post says it all. That explains how he was able to play those games with the standard Atari joystick, rather than the paddle controllers that you’re supposed to be playing with.

Context: Chris Bores’ latest edition of his long-running, long-waiting History of Video Games was recently put up, covering Atari games from 1978 to 1980 in relatively quick fashion. How quick? The whole episode was roughly five minutes long and a good chunk of it was dedicated to some rather poor sketches and unfunny gags. In addition, there are some minor errors, such as playing paddle games with the standard joystick, as well as showing footage of the arcade Space Invaders and passing it off as the VCS version.

There’s also a notable lack of attention to the dates in which certain things took place; Nolan Bushnell’s exit from Atari was in 1978, but this fact isn’t mentioned until the end of the episode as though it took place in 1980. However, Bores does make an effort in bringing up the fact that Bushnell founded Chuck E. Cheese. Because breakfast is ruined or something.

Look, I’ll be honest, here. This latest episode did very little for me. Even though the run time is roughly five minutes, it was probably the longest five minutes I ever sat through. It felt as though the very essence was being sucked away as the seconds withered away. But hey, look on the bright side! It’s not another lazy AVGN Clip Collection.

Then again, that’s not saying a whole lot, is it?

World Of Nintendo LOVES Its Bat Guano… Forever

So I found myself visiting the World Of Nintendo website and out of mock curiosity, I checked out their reviews for the SNES Bat Guano Forever game that I reviewed months ago. There were two reviews that were positive for some reason.

One reviewer gave it an 8.7 out of 10, saying that “It is a pretty good game, not my fav. or least fav. It’s a so-so, basically just regular. I’m glad I own it anyway, it passes time and, as I said, is good for about 1 hour at a time. My advice is that you rent it first, don’t just buy it, because there is a fair chance that you won’t like it even though you probably will.”

No, pal. I didn’t like it. And I never will.

The other reviewer gave it a lower but still way to high 7 out of 10, citing that the game is”better than the first two in the Batman series for the Super NES. However, a lot could have been done to improve it. The buttons to use weapons could have been simplified, or there could have been a menu to activate different weapons, as with other games like the Mega Man series.”

So apparently, this game is better than Batman Returns, a genuinely good game from Konami that somehow got a six out of ten. Right…

To be fair, both reviews acknowledge the flaws of the game, but still, an 8.7 and 7 for an outright terrible game? Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

Strangely enough, there aren’t any reviews for the Game Boy version. I guess there are some lines even World of Nintendo won’t touch, eh?

All the hot, talented ladies that are changing the scene” are not in this newest video game and might not even be made into DLC… but hey, you can still play as the Bellas.

Yeah, so… Viva #LOLDivasRevolution!

TNA Impact Cancelled… Again…

Source: http://www.inquisitr.com/2426561/tna-news-destination-america-confirms-impact-wrestling-will-be-cancelled-effective-in-january-2016/

Well, after months of being denied, contested, and encouraging ramblings from Vic Vemon for some reason, it’s been confirmed that Destination America will no longer be airing TNA Impact Wrestling beyond 2015. Once the show goes off the air at the end of the year, TNA will – again – be off the airwaves, lest they could find another television network that could pity them… or something. Because how else can you really justify picking up a television show that was tossed off the network for two consecutive years?

This is going to be a tough time for TNA, its talents, its employees, and its fans… and I’d imagine things are going to be more difficult in the ensuring months to try and get another TV deal given how much of a stink the brand has developed in recent times. With their major stars possibly leaving the company, their international deals dwindling, and their house shows doing less than stellar numbers, one has to wonder about TNA and how long they could survive.

Hopefully, Destination America will give TNA a more dignified exit than Spike did the year prior, but… man, that’s going to suck either way.

Best of luck to TNA. Despite their recent woes, I hope everything goes well with them.

That Crazy Woman Even Chef Ramsay Couldn’t Help Finally Shuts Its Doors.

Source: http://everything-pr.com/amys-baking-company/260545/

You may recall a couple years ago an episode of the U.S. edition of Kitchen Nightmares where Gordon Ramsay visited Amy’s Baking Company, an actual restaurant run by a crazy couple who wouldn’t listen to reason and would attack anyone with the slightest hint of negativity levied towards them. It doesn’t help that one side of the couple, Amy, is so batshit insane and out of her mind that she turns the clock on feminism back five hundred years and disproved the age-old, antiquated, and sexist adage that “women should stay in the kitchen.”

Well, after all the bad press, that restaurant has finally shut its doors and good riddance.

Unfortunately, Amy continues to run her mouth and spew her venom at anyone who cares.

Oh well… couldn’t happen to nicer people.

But on the bright side, maybe Amy could apply for a job at WWE.

After all, we’ve got a #LOLDivasRevolution to sink.

Alright! New AVGN… oh wait, it’s just a clip collection.

No doubt what some AVGN fans (want to) believe James Rolfe thinks of them. See? I can do stupid meme images too.

I think the comments on the YouTube video in question – another one of “those arguments” see – is what inspired this post… and mind you, it’s something that’s been on the back of my mind in case this particular brand of video rears its ugly head again… but in any event…

Yeah… for those wanting a new AVGN episode for whatever reason, you’ll have to settle for another lazily put together Top 10 list. Cryptic gaming moments is the theme this time around and… it’s an AVGN Clip Collection video. Lazily put together to appease those wanting new AVGN and forcing to settle for something that takes even less time to put together than an Irate Gamer video about Skylanders. Sure, nobody wants to see endless videos about Skylanders from a guy with a somewhat spotty and dubious YouTube career… but even those videos have more effort put into it than these Clip Collections do.

I’ve got two takes on this.

Viva La #LOLDivasRevolution!

A wrestlinginc.com poll in which 42% believed Baby Flair would beat Cena’s Funbags on RAW.

That 42% must feel pretty stupid now, don’t they?

So there were people clamoring for Ric Flair’s Baby Girl and John Cena’s Funbags to main event RAW in order to supposedly “legitimize” the #LOLDivasRevolution. Because that’s the ticket that would push women’s wrestling to the forefront and bring it the respect it truly deserves.

Well, the match just happened… and of course, Baby Flair pins the wrong Bella. The decision is reversed. So now this match, which didn’t need to happen other than to sucker stupid people who thought they were actually going to have an honest to goodness title, ended on a Dusty Finish.

So what this means is that Charlotte now looks like another joke in the Divas division that I have no reason to care about, the most undeserving Divas Champion of all time gets to break a record for the sole purpose of sticking it to the former record-holder’s husband who left the company on bad terms, and this whole #LOLDivasRevolution is pretty much exposed as the absolute joke that it really is.

Why so shocked?

Sure, Charlotte might win the title on Sunday, but why should I care? Instead of pulling off a win, she pulled a Lex Luger.

Well… I guess there’s time for an extended piss break, after all.

Apparently My #LOLDivasRevolution Thing Is On Reddit…

https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/3ksagn/another_perspective_of_the_divasrevolution/

Because sure… why not?

Hey, for that something that was intended to be part of an audio project and not as a written post (hence the lack of proper format), that’s rather surprising… and a bit disturbing. Go figure.

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children.”
