Hiatus From Wrestling-Related Posts

So, given all the bad wrestling press and all the bad people that have been exposed as a result, I’m thinking that I need a break from all this wrestling stuff. So for the next month or so – barring the eventual WWE 2K18 review posting to Youtube – I will refrain from posting anything related to wrestling. No PPVs, no AEW, or anything in between. I’m just not into that sort of thing anymore.

Maybe in August… but for now, I’ll fill the time with other stuff.

WWF In Your House #13 – Final Four (February 1997)

So Stone Cold Steve Austin won the Royal Rumble under somewhat dubious circumstances and that necessitated what the WWF dubbed a “Final Four” match; a four-way elimination match that where one can be eliminated via pinfall, submission, and throw over the top rope onto the ground. Then Shawn Michaels vacated the WWF title because he lost his smile or something… and now the winner of the match would be crowed the new WWF Champion.

Quite the set-up, folks. Let’s see how this goes.

A Moment

As most who have followed the wrestling news as of late knows, there’s been a recent trend of individuals coming out with their own horror stories of sorts regarding their peers acting in somewhat inappropriate fashion. Some of these individuals are folks that people held with some regard until it turns out that behind the scenes, those folks turned out to be somewhat less than stellar human beings. Turns out that one of these folks, who shall remain nameless, has been somewhat outed as a particularly depraved individual.

That individual has been a part of a couple posts on this here blog.

Now, for what it’s worth, the individual in question has not been a prominent subject matter on this here blog; he was involved in a couple shows that I offered musings on. And while I did give some thought to remove any mention of him, I ultimately decided against it because the last thing I want is to feed the whole “cancel culture” bullshit that’s been going on in recent years. On the other hand, I don’t want to showcase stuff that put this guy in a positive light.

So here’s what I’ll do; from now until September, the two posts in question – the ALL IN musings and the Impact musings featuring this individual as a featured attraction – will be taken off the grid. By the time September rolls around, they’ll be reposted unaltered, but with a bit of a warning for folks who’d rather not read about this individual.

AEW Dynamite (June 17th, 2020): Two Hours Of Fun Stuff… And Billy Gunn

Pretty much what it says on the tin… and you know what? I’m starting to get used to these Dynamite shows with these fake fans and being stuck in Daily’s Place for the foreseeable future, because the atmosphere on these shows have been akin to a small, passionate indy promotion than something that is manufactured and phony. I’d imagine once real fans are allowed in the arenas, it’ll make for a more rabid feel, but for now, these feel closest to the old shows as you can get.

Sadly, Florida is run by buffoons… which is a euphemism for some other word I’d use, but I’m trying to be nice here because AEW is run by nice people… until it’s revealed that it isn’t several years down the line. I hate this fucking planet.

But I digress… on with the show.
