The YES! Stall…

I suppose we should be happy that Daniel Bryan Danielson is champion at all, but I’m sort of getting vibes of that one guy’s one-year title reign that ended up being an afterthought compared to whatever stupid shit John Cena is doing or whatever stupid shit HHH is doing. Hey, I’m glad the Shield is getting a chance to shine with the big boys, but I just wished they spent as much effort pushing their WORLD FUCKING CHAMPION as they did… well, anything else they think is worth a damn.

There’s a fairly good chance that come Summerslam or whatever, Brock Lesnar is most likely getting his go around with the belts. And at the rate they’re booking their champion to look like a goof, it’s more than likely the match, much like the “shocking” match with Undertaker, is going to blow chunks. Why not give Bryan the same kind of title reign that Bret Hart got before he became a bitter whiner? You know, the kind where he would defend his titles against all comers, show off his stuff, and at the very least, keep the people still on board happy? It’ll at least give Bryan something to do and perhaps give him a bit more credibility in that eventual showdown with Lesnar.
I don’t know… just a thought.

Thoughts On… Eric Young As TNA World Champ

Note: Originally written last Sunday.

I want to nibble on TNA booking Eric Young to win their World Champion on the same week that saw Daniel Bryan Danielson get his Wrestlemania moment and win the WWE Heavyweight Championship. I was going to do this in a video log format, but I’m not really going to bother because there’s really not much to say and what I do have to say doesn’t need any mincing of words, so I’ll just say it.

And On This Day, A Warrior Passes… To Parts Unknown

I had a hard time picking an appropriate picture for a proper tribute – let alone the words – so here’s a picture of an Ultimate Warrior plush doll in its place, looking every bit as intense as the man it’s based on.

Warrior, born James Hellwig, was a man with a complicated legacy. He played a popular character on television, gained a sizable fanbase, and then when he left the wrestling spotlight, he went on a public speaking career that has produced its share of controversies. No doubt there will be just as many of people who remember his wild rants and polarizing viewpoints as much as those who remember his storied wrestling career. Both halves coming together producing what was a unique individual.

Either way you look at it, there will never be another Ultimate Warrior.

Godspeed, Warrior.

Macho Man Spurred Again! Grrr…. or something.

http://tbo.com/news/wwe-hall-of-fame-against-spurns-macho-man-20140331/

Another year gone by, another year where somebody is moaning about the Macho Man not being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. And, no doubt, another year where people will argue that Lanny Poffo doesn’t deserve to be inducted. To which I say, “Why not? We already have guys like Drew Carey, Bob Uecker, and William Perry who did considerably less in the Hall of Fame? Why not induct the guy who, at the very least, got a DQ victory over Hulk Hogan?”

Really, I’d expect David Arquette to be inducted into the HOF before Randy Savage.

Funny…

I find it oddly amusing (or bemusing) that the “Razor Ramon” character portrayed by Scott Hall is getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and yet Scott Hall himself is not. I wonder if they’re going to bring back the fake Razor to accept the induction in place of Hall.

Still, congratulations to “Razor” for the impending induction. Now all we need to do is induct “Vinnie Vegas” into the Hall of Fame and we’re all set.

DVD Review – The Self-Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior (2005 DVD Review)

The Ultimate Warrior is a bit of an interesting character. Inside the squared circle, he was one of the most colorful and dynamic wrestlers you’d find in the WWF atmosphere. Regardless of what you thought of him as a wrestler, a promo guy, or character, you can’t deny.

However, outside the squared circle, Warrior was a bit of an asshole who seemed to have a hatred for anything or anyone who didn’t worship the ground he walked on. He had controversial opinions that drew the ire of colleges and colleagues, burn bridges on a whim, and had an absolute disdain for Vince McMahon and his circle of stooges to the point where both were involved in lawsuits up the wazoo.

So for WWE to induct the Ultimate Warrior into the Hall of Fame is as much of a surprise to me as anyone, especially to those who knew of the rather turbulent relationship between the two sides over the years. All of a sudden, both sides are happily

Therefore, to celebrate the occasion, we’ll be taking a look at The Self-Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior, a DVD release from 2005-ish where everyone shits on Warrior, back when it was cool to shit on Warrior because he was such a cunt.

Oy. I Knew I Heard That Idea Somewhere.

I came across this post while looking through the archives. For those who are lazy, let me repost the blurb that I wrote back in May 2012.

Someone commented somewhere that he hoped that Hogan would go back to WWE because WWE is boring… yes, because a broken-down 60-year-old man is the answer to WWE’s woes. Miraculously, I resisted the urge to call him a fucking idiot right then and there.

Less than two years later, Hulk Hogan has returned to host Wrestlemania XXX… and presumably, that’s all he’ll be doing. It’s not like WWE would be stupid enough to have him win the title in a 2-minute squash once Bore-Tista wins it.

By the way, if that happens, I want my royalty checks.

CM Punk Took A Leak

According to various wrestling news sources, CM Punk was reportedly spotted walking into the bathroom where he apparently releaved his bodily wastes. No further comment was made in this regard, but one anonymous tipster was heard to have said, “You fucking sites have nothing better to report on these days, don’t ya?”

Further details to follow…

By the way, while digging through the blog archives, I came across this archived transcript of CM Punk’s rant regarding a (storyline) walkout back in 2011. You read that and then you look back at what happened back in January… hmm. Make of that what you will.

BOOK REVIEW – WWE’s Big Apple Takedown (2006)

The cover of this book depicts former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson wielding a gun while wearing a suggestive outfit with an awkward smile on her face, much like a lot of these promo pics where superstars and divas are told to smile in the most unnatural, unrealistic way possible. You look at this cover and you’re wondering why anyone would want to read this in public?
