A Friend Saw The Bores Movie

Some folks might have heard of Pursuit Of The Paranormal, the Chris Bores movie where he talks to the dead. I haven’t seen it – no real intention in doing so – but my friend has. Sent me a quick e-mail sharing his thoughts. I replied back to him, asking if he would consider contributing to a guest review for the Review Archive. No answer yet, but I’m sure he won’t resist.

By the way, here’s the e-mail in question;

Saw the Bores “movie”… Sean got it for me as a birthday gift… oh joy, I love me some Bores.

For a 90-minute conversation with the dead, it sure comes up short… only a little over 50 minutes tops. Why call it a movie if it isn’t long enough to be one? It’d be like sticking four wheels onto a box and calling it a car.

As far as the “movie” goes, it’s just another ghost hunting thing where they look around the place, “talk” to a ghost using meters and stuff, and conclude that they’re not sure if ghosts exist. Yeah, this was worth investing your life savings in putting together. Typical Bores quality stuff that isn’t up to snuff.

I’d say wait until he uploads this to YouTube in a year or so. Don’t waste your money…

Retron 5 Head David Hu Interviewed By Retroware TV

http://retrowaretv.com/retron-5-interview/

There’s a nice little interview at Retroware TV with Hyperkin Marketing Director David Hu regarding the upcoming Retron 5 system, an Android-powered clone console which emulates functionality for NES, Super NES (and their Famicom and Super Famicom equivalents, respectively), Genesis/Mega Drive, and the Game Boy line. It’s actually a nice little read.

The Retron 5 is due out December 10 with a suggested price of $99.

WinAmp Goes To Sleep After Fifteen Years… No More Llama Ass-Whipping

http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/20/5126666/winamp-media-player-shutting-down-after-over-15-years

Sad to hear about WinAmp closing its doors. I’m proud to say that WinAmp was my MP3 player of choice for the entire time I’ve tinkered with computers, which is to say a long amount of time. Even when you have other media players such as iTunes, WinAmp was the one I always went back to; its simple yet unintrusive set-up and quick loadings were big selling points for me and the player itself was small and unassuming so that it didn’t unnecessarily fill the screen with worthless crap unless you wanted that crap there.

I’ve downloaded the latest (and possibly final) version of Winamp as a keepsake, but also as an enduring relic of a program I’ve used for countless years and will continue to use for countless years.

Godspeed, Winamp. And continue to whip that llama’s ass in the afterlife.

The Nerd Reviews His Own Games…

MERDE! Again With The Motherfucking Borg!

That sums up my thoughts on the concept… the episode itself, on the other hand, wasn’t too bad… even if it was a less-than-subtle advertisement at his own game(s) (or perhaps a subtle potshot at another “irate” individual whose own iOS game was recently removed?)
