WCW Halloween Havoc 1993

So we have another Halloween Havoc PPV one year later, featuring the Spin The Wheel Make The Wheel concept. So let’s have a look at that before we dive into the NXT iteration… soon enough, I suppose.

Oh yeah, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the wonderful little opening mini-movie featuring a bunch of kids going to a creepy house and being greeted by a really creepy Tony Schiavone, who pulls off his face to reveal a much hairier face to scare off the kids. I’m amazed that in all the years of modern face technology, nobody bothered to replace the fake wolf mask thing with Tony Schiavone’s face circa 2020. Wouldn’t THAT be a hoot.

Anyway, on with the show…

WCW Halloween Havoc 1992

So… in preparation for this week’s NXT show – featuring another edition of Spin The Wheel Make the Deal – I decided to revisit the WCW show responsible for its infamous reputation and that is Halloween Havoc 1992. Tomorrow, we’ll be look at the 1993 edition that also featured the second ever STWMTD match before the concept was shelved forever and never seen again until a couple times when WWE would bring it back as RAW Roulette or whatever they used to call it.

Anyway, onwards with the show, as it were.

RAW After Mania (April 4th, 2005) – The Reign of McSon-In-Law Is BWAH-HAH-HAH GOOD ONE PAL!

So… Batista beat McSon-In-Law for the World title.

Despite this, he and McSon-In-Law would headline TWO MORE PPVs in 2005 before Batista was eventually shipped off to Smackdown. This is evident when the guy starting the show is NOT your new World Champion, but rather McSon-In-Law. In fact, the only time your NEW WORLD CHAMPION shows up on TV is in a main event match with Randy Orton that ends up going nowhere. In fact, I barely remember the match.

Yeah, this was another show where nothing of note happened and everything was quickly forgotten in a blur. There’s a thing with Steve Austin in it, there’s a pretty entertaining Edge vs. CB match in there, and a really short Trish Stratus match with whatsherface… but that’s about it and I’ve had to struggle with this knowledge.

A meh outing… not feeling these shows.

Bad Gas Derails Plans, So Here’s Some Havoc

Stomach issues, sadly, derailed any work to be done on the blog, so it’s light slimmings. On the one hand, this allows the Youtube side of things to catch up in regards to the video content. On the other hand, no new videos this week on the blog beyond, maybe one or two picks along the way.

However, those who missed my PPV Musings for whatever reason will be happy to learn that two new ones will be posted this week. Neither are current PPVs as I haven’t seen either one from this weekend, but they are old WCW shows relating to a certain gimmick that will be making a comeback on this week’s edition of NXT. So look forward to that eventually.

Other than that, everything is up in the air. If something comes up, it’ll be up… but videos have been curtailed yet again.

I swear the doughnut isn’t at fault. I recorded that video two weeks ago.

RAW After Mania (March 15th, 2004) – We Don’t Talk About This One

So… the night before this show was Wrestlemania 20… featuring a main event World title match that we don’t talk about anymore… because it features someone of dubious reputation and stuff.

But honestly, this was a nothing show. There was a really good segment between McSon-In-Law and [REDACTED] to open the show, a bunch of nothing happening stuff in between that would’ve meant more if I were watching these weekly, and a solid tag-team main between [REDACTED] and HBK going over Evolution.

I say “We Don’t Talk About This One” in the title bar because it’s the night after Mania 20 and the night [REDACTED] won the title in an emotional end to the show that I can’t watch anymore, but the truth is there’s nothing to talk about and that’s why we don’t talk about this one.

Maybe next year’s show will be better.
