That Diablo Thing For Phones… Also For PCs

Does anyone remember that one event where a bunch of Blizzard blokes tried to push a Diablo game for phones as the next big thing and reacted to the fierce negative reaction by asking “Do You Not Have Phones?!”
Well, fret not, boys and girls. Diablo Immortal will be coming to PCs.
You know, in case you don’t have a phone.
I am not a Diablo player. I may have played the first game ages ago, but that’s about the extent of my exposure to the series. I do recall watching a video of the event in question showcasing the highlights (or lowlights, if you prefer) of the reveal. I almost feel sorry for the devs who have to try and sell this mobile game to this audience comprising mostly PC Master Race hardcore types, who were having none of it. On the other hand, you’re basically shooting yourselves in the foot when you have an audience on hand expecting an announcement on the next major entry in their beloved franchise… and the best you could come up with is a mobile phone game that nobody in that room wanted to play.
That said, the fact that Immortal is getting a PC port despite claims to the contrary should feel like vindication for that PC Master Race, who are no doubt treating this like a victory. I, on the other hand, will anticipate the reactions to said PC release, because this is either going to be vindication for the snafu or if this is vengeance on Blizzard’s part by giving their core audience a shoddy PC port of a phone game. That, kids, is where the real fireworks are bound to happen.
Either way, it’s going to be an interesting ride until release day.

AEW Dynamite (April 27th, 2022): First Time. Only Time.

RAW celebrated 20 years of Randy Orton with the usual opening segment where a bunch of people come in and talk… and then they book a multi-man for the main event despite not liking tag-teams because how many fucking people do you gotta pay? At least the match ended with a happy ending and the crowd went home happy… or so I’ve been told.
Anyway, I just finished watching the Dynamite show a short while ago… man, what a great show that was.

Man Sues Apple For Not Including Charger With Phone And Wins

Source: https://www.insider.com/iphone-charger-apple-pay-brazilian-man-1000-not-including-adapter-2022-4?amp

Apple got rid of their phone charger to save money, Brazilian man sues Apple and gets a thousand dollars or whatever the Brazilian equivalent is. Good for that man. Rechargeable electronic products not including charging implements as part of their package is a bullshit practice. Saving the environment? My ass. Saving your money? That’s the ticket.
Is this move going to hurt Apple in the long run? Of course not. A thousand bucks is peanuts to those guys. And I don’t think they’re going to start including chargers overnight; not when you have a world of morons who are more than willing to feed into their predatory business practices. Let me tell you something; nobody gives a shit about the environment when they try to justify selling two seperate boxes containing pieces that should only use one. This is a money saving move on Apple’s part. And I’m sure they make a pretty profit.
One small chink isn’t going to do anything, but what if this sets a precedence for the future? Wishful thinking? Perhaps, but the bottom line is INCLUDE A FUCKING CHARGER, YOU FUCKING CRETINS!

ECW The Night The Line Was Crossed (February 1994)

Eastern Championship Wrestling held a show on February 5, 1994 – a night that would be dubbed “The Night The Line Was Crossed.” I don’t know what line was crossed that night, but I do know that this show was home to the promotion’s first three-way dance between reigning ECW Champion Shane Douglas, living legend Terry Funk, and the crazy man Sabu.

So, this is the Eastern Championship Wrestling days of ECW, which means a dimly lit bingo hall and a Joey Styles that has yet to be fully formed. Todd Gordon was still the owner and the one to greet us on this show, letting us know that ECW is not for everyone. And then we follow that with Mr. Hughes squashing some dude in quick fashion, which is no different from any other squash match I’ve seen since the dawn of time. Not for everyone, indeed, Mr. Gordon.

More after the break… or the line, if you dare cross it… that’s so lame…

Mega Man Maker Level: DTM26 – UPC Headquarters

“RockmanCop” storms into UPC Headquarters to eliminate corrupt UPC executive officer Rick Bones. Unfortunately, for Rick, there is no Directive 4 to save him… he does have a pair of scissors… and it is rainy outside.
Loosely based on the final level of Robocop for NES, in case the change in music and the poorly conceived summary doesn’t tip you off… and yes, the front gate is defended to the core, but once you get past that, it’s smooth sailing.

The Cold Embrace Of Dark

It’s almost five in the morning and just as I’m starting to fall asleep, the sun is about to come up.

Amazingly, it still feels pretty cold in here. Probably the humidity. Heating’s helped a bit.
It seems like I’m making up for lost sleep during the week with the early bedtimes, but as soon as Friday night hits, I’m up until the very start of dawn. Strangely, it’s during these late hours that I feel more relaxed. Peace and quiet often comes from this time… and yet it’s also when I make the most noise.
Nothing to wake the neighbors; I’ve heard worse behind their walls. The wails of dogs and the banging of the bodies… nothing violent. A sign of loneliness for the former; pure, unconstrained passion for the latter.
Funny how, during the day, I’m going through the motions, but as day turns to night and the background noise dies out, I feel the most invigorated. It’s been like this for a while now… this settling into the new norm.
Part of me misses the old days, while the other is fine with what’s there.
Another part… that’s a work in progress.
As is everything in life.

The Deforestation Of Hyrule: An Adventure Of Link

Well, it’s Earth Day, kids. Celebrate our wonderful planet by reading this Zelda fanfic about Link cutting down trees and plantlife with his sword and suffering the consequences. It’s the first piece of fanfic that I’ve written… mostly as a lark.
