21 Years Ago In TNA #22 – Aw, Shit… It’s Vince Russo… (a.k.a. THE END FOR ME… November 20th, 2002)

21 Years Ago In TNA… Vince Russo made his return to television.

And this is where I dropped the show.

When I started this project back in June, there were three possible exit points that I had considered ending this on. The first being after sampling the first five episodes on YouTube, which were free. The second exit point would’ve been right around the two-week period where I could’ve found something else to do instead, but opted to continue this TNA journey for better or worse. However, this third and final exit point is a sure thing; the debut of Vince Russo on TNA was the last stop. Whether the show is good or not – and spoiler: the show wasn’t very good – this is the last edition of my journey to NWA-TNA from 21 years ago. I’m done.

And so I invite you to join me with on this final edition of 21 Years Ago In TNA… because there isn’t going to be another one… ever. The next TNA show I’m doing is probably gonna be the new one in January, which means I’m gonna need a new banner.

Let’s blow this thing and go home.

21 Years Ago In TNA #21 – What’s That Tingling Sensation? (November 13th, 2002)

Hey, did you hear? Bryan Alvarez threw in the towel on NWA-TNA.

Maybe I should have done the same… but fuck me, we’re in this for another week… but next week? That’s when this ride comes to an end. One more week and this journey will be over. I’m jumping off this bandwagon and moving on to greener pastures.

This show had no chance of convincing me to keep going. No matter how good it got, no matter how much promise it bore, it was never going to sell me on further shows beyond this point. It simply isn’t going to happen. I remember some of those shows being really, really bad and quite frankly, I have no desire to revisit those shows any time soon.

This show has no chance of changing my mind. After next week’s show, this experiment comes to an end. There’s plenty of other decent TNA shows that I could have been watching with this Impact Plus subscription; why am I wasting it on this crap? Hell, there are some good TNA PPVs being uploaded onto their YouTube channel that I could watch FOR FREE… and yet instead of watching those shows, I’m watching this shitpile. After next week’s show, no more.

With that having been said, this week’s edition of NWA-TNA isn’t terrible. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it good, but it wasn’t completely awful. For the most part, it was largely boring and forgettable.

21 Years Ago In TNA #20 – It’s Panda-Monium In The Asylum (November 6th, 2002)

So my understanding is that this is the point (or close to it) where Panda Energy has taken majority interest in TNA, thus insuring that it was last for years and years and years and years and years to come… somewhere in Washington, Shoulders Torelli shed a tear. In any event, there’s money coming in so that means we can focus on having some decent shows to entice people in buying this shit on a weekly basis.
And for what it’s worth, this show wasn’t too bad.

State Of The Blog – November 2023

For anyone who missed last night’s incredible October 32nd House show, you missed the important announcement that I had last night, so go check it out around 30 minutes in and decide if it’s bigger than Tony Khan’s important announcement of tickets going on sale for a show taking place next year. I think I may have delivered the more newsworthy announcement, quite frankly.

I had a bowel movement. There’s the announcement. Moving on.

This week’s video offerings are going to be relatively slim pickings. Most of the reviews are random stuff and in the can, so I can focus on the big things in December and beyond. The TNA project ends this month and presumably that means I can go back and finish the WWF 2000 PPV musings that I have left on the table.

New DTM-Cast at the end of the month… not much else. Maybe a live stream or two.
