Review #067 – Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Super NES)

Later tonight, the remainder of Breakdown!
Tomorrow, Power Rangers CD and the beginning of Eighth Coin!

*Yeah, this is a Dailymotion video upload. YouTube will get this later this week, but for the Dailymotion crowd and this blog, I’m uploading all the Power Rangers reviews I’ve got thus far.

VIDEO – Does This Woman Eat The Skulls Of Children To Survive?

The question is in reference to an old Rangerboard meme regarding Tracy Lynn Cruz (she who played the Yellow Chick in latter-half Turbo and entire In Space) and her seemingly ageless appearances in which she needs to feed off skulls of children in order to maintain such youthfulness. Tracy didn’t answer the question because it sounds stupid… but then again, who could blame her? It’s such a stupid question to begin with…

Then again, you knew it had to happen sooner or later… just like this one time when someone asked Austin St. John about his alleged gay porno career that he never had so shut the fuck up, son. Jason will fuck you up, motherfucker. You hear me?

JASON WILL FUCK YOU UP, SON.

Power Rangers SUPAH SAMARAI!

Old news, but Nick is set to start airing the new season of Power Rangers Samurai in a week or two. But it isn’t just Power Rangers Samurai, but rather Power Rangers SUPER Samurai… because they’re super, you know… why not stick with plain old Samurai? Adding Super in there… I don’t know, it sounds less like a title for a new season and more like a title for a new Super Nintendo release… SUPER Samurai… meh.

I guess I better catch up and start watching me some vanilla Samurai. Good thing it’s on Netflix Canada.
SUPAH SAMARAI… yeah, how does the theme song work there?

Netflix Canada gets Power Rangers… some of it.

So a couple months ago, I signed up to Netflix and for the most part, I like what I see… however, I was a tad disappointed that there was no sign of Power Rangers on the Canadian side of things, since Netflix in the US has most, if not all, of the seasons on their side… Power Rangers on Netflix is the only reason why I bothered with the service to begin with… but at the very least, I’m getting some use from it. For example, they have the theatrical versions of the first and sixth Star Trek feature films, thus eliminating any need or urge to get the recent DVD compilations which contain these things. So I’m getting some use out of Netflix…

Then I fire up my new Western Digital TV Live Streaming device and enter Netflix and what do I find? A nice dose of Power Rangers… not all eighteen seasons, but the classic stuff; all of Mighty Morphin, the Alien Rangers storyarc, and all of Zeo. They also put the recent Samurai season, along with the three specials… which is good, since I now have the means to watch Samurai.

So yeah… thanks, Netflix Canada.

199 vs 40

Interesting premise they got going on there… the entirety of Super Sentai and the entirety of Kamen Riders in one film? Not quite sure how they’re going to handle such a large cast of characters, but I can see why this might enticing to some folks.

Just remember, kids. Regardless of how good or how shitty it was in your mind, only one thing can be said with absolute truth…

 Power Rangers did it first.
