Ghostbusting 2.0
Been sitting on this for a while… and well, here’s my five cents on the matter.
So let me preface this by saying that as far as the first two Ghostbusters films are concerned, I kinda like ’em. They’re not films that I would hold on any high pedestal like most older folks would, but they’re funny films, they’re quotable, they’ve got memorable moments and characters, they’re well made films with some wonderful visual effects, all the usual buzzwords you’d associate with much beloved classics of the era. And of course, there’s the timeless catchy wonderfully 80s theme song by the legendary Ray Parker Jr. Suffice it to say, Ghostbusters is a cherished franchise by those who grew up during its prime years, some clearly more devoted than others.

EGM #100’s Top 100 Games Of All Time – An Extended Lookback
November 1997 saw esteemed video game magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly release their one hundredth issue. And to celebrate the occasion, they concocted a Top 100 list comprising their favorite games and calling them “the best of all time.” But are they really that?
A bit of context is needed; this list was put back in 1997. That’s almost two decades ago and many other games have come along that deserve to lay claim to “the best of all time.” However, I was around in 1997. I know games back in 1997 and I still have some notes about whether I feel this list held water. This is more of a fun lookback than any “critical” observation. Who knows? I might pull out that 200th issue of EGM one of these days and do a similar feature with their 200 greatest games list, which deviates quite a bit from this particular list.
Originally, I had this broken apart into four parts. Those parts are assembled into one longform post. In addition, I’ve updated a couple thoughts here and there.

There Was A WWE Show Tonight? I Forgot…

Yeah, apparently there was a WWE show tonight and I didn’t catch it. And the funny thing was I didn’t even know about this until literally five minutes ago when a buddy called and told me about the show. I told him that I didn’t see the show, I forgot about the show, and that I was too busy playing No Mercy instead.
His reply was a solemn “You didn’t miss much.”
I guess somewhere down the line, I’ll give it a watch… but at the moment, I’m not feeling it.
Review #457 – THE SOFTWARE TOOLWORKS' Star Wars Chess (Sega CD)
Stephy Never Friendly
It’s never going to happen.
Every time I see her “smile”, it always seems forced and disingenuous, as if she’s allergic to the very concept of smiling and being friendly.
Thanks For The Memories, Bryan…
With word that Daniel Bryan Danielson is retiring, I offer two videos for viewing in celebration of an amazing career.
First up, my montage video of Bryan kicking John Cena’s head in. It remains my most viewed video (and almost immediately nailed for Content ID, thus assuring I wouldn’t be doing these often.
An old match from 2007, future WWE World champion Daniel Bryan Danielson takes on future NXT champion Prince Devitt a.k.a. Finn Balor in a tournament match for the then-vacant NWA World Heavyweight Championship that would eventually be won by future WWE trainer Adam Pearce.
Thanks for the memories, Bryan. Thanks for the memories and thanks for the last genuine feelgood moment in WWE.
About Shatner Not Being In The Next Trek
For those bitching about the lack of Shatner in Star Trek Beyond, my feelings can summed up in this familiar yet cliched picture:

Yeah, is this what Trekkies are going to obsess over every time there’s a new Trek movie coming out? I swear this is like a tradition for people to bitch and moan about Shatner not being in the latest Trek movie that takes place in a completely different reality from the prime films and thus there is no viable reason to shove Shatner in there. In fact, I’m pretty certain that the instant we start getting details on the upcoming Star Trek show, people are gonna starting asking about when Shatner is gonna show up.
Look, you want Shatner in a new Trek movie? I’ve got the perfect idea.
Seeing as Beyond is aping Trek 3 in destroying the Enterprise (groan), I would suggest that Trek 4 is about Kirk and Spock looking for humpback whales. And if we eventually get a Trek 5, Kirk can ask what God needs with a starship and then Shatner shows up to provide the answer. There’s your Shatner cameo. You’re welcome.
Now fuck off and get me my coffee.
And let the movie stand on its own… for once.
WTFTNA
So let me see if I get this right…
Derrick Bateman loses the TNA World title to Matt Hardy in a three-way match on a major TNA Pay-Per-View event and later files an “injunction” that forces Matt Hardy to vacate said title. TNA decides to hold a “World Title Series” comprising months of taped matches with no rhyme or reason, with the whole thing eventually won by Derrick Bateman, who wins the title for the second time. Bateman then loses the title to Matt Hardy the following episode when Brodus Clay turned on him and joined Matt Hardy and that New York Giants girl to form a new heel stable.
In other words, the past few months of TNA programming was completely and utterly worthless. And then people wonder why nobody is watching TNA these days.
Speaking of which, how’s Global Force doing these days?
