Behold! The Movie Red Ranger’s New Power Sword!

So spent yesterday at the Cosmodome in Laval, a exhibition of SPACE. Had some models of past rockets and satellites and it even had a virtual simulator where you could partake in an actual space mission (within the span of an hour). That was pretty cool, actually. There was also a section where folks could try out some of the training tools that you’d normally find at Space Camp. Didn’t get the chance to try them out, but that’s something to look forward to in the future. All in all, a fine way to spend a Sunday.
As such, I haven’t caught the Bound For Glory PPV that TNA put out… yes, TNA was able to put out a PPV last night… and I didn’t see it. From my understanding in reading the results, however, nothing of note really happened on that show that was worth watching, so I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to catch the replay… or even give TNA the time of day, anytime soon.
Anyway, I’m off.
How many comp tickets will they give away this year?!
Here’s the press release:
WWE announced that the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, will host Royal Rumble 2017 on Sunday, January 29, 2017. This marks the return of Royal Rumble to the Alamodome for the first time since 1997.
Maybe this year, they’ll actually sell the place out instead of giving a shitton of free tickets to try and get a full house.
Royal Rumble is one of WWE’s biggest pay-per-views of the year and officially kicks off The Road to WrestleMania. The event will be highlighted by a 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble Match featuring WWE Superstars from both Raw and SmackDown LIVE, where the winner will receive a title opportunity to headline WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida on April 2, 2017.
Tickets for Royal Rumble 2017 will be available starting Friday, October 14, at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT through all Ticketmaster outlets, http://www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. All tickets are subject to service charges and facility fees.
The Alamodome previously hosted the 1997 Royal Rumble, where more than 60,000 fans (only 45,000+ paid) witnessed WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin win the Royal Rumble Match and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels win the WWE Championship
Match is alright.

For those lazy to click the link, Raw got its lowest audience since October 1996 during the WWF’s weak sauce years of getting its ass kicked by the nWo. I suppose someone might blame it on putting the belt on the Quebecois asti tabarnac… but really, who’s surprised by this? For a company that claims to tell stories, they haven’t told any interesting ones as of late.
With last night’s title win, AJ Styles is often being credited as being the first guy to have held the TNA, IWGP, and WWE championships, making him something of a Triple Crown champ. Quite an impressive showing all things considered, but did you know that AJ Styles also held the NWA World title during TNA’s Asylum years?
Because TNA didn’t actually have a World title to call their own until 2007, so they just used the NWA belt and AJ’s held that a couple times. So realistically, he should be considered a Grand Slam champion before having held the NWA, TNA, IWGP, and WWE World titles.
Just a thought.
Following up on yesterday’s impromptu episode of DTM Rambles, I ended up spending somewhere within the neighborhood of three hours on my newly acquired Mega Man X3 video game, where I found myself relearning where everything was and eventually defeating the initial eight Maverick hunters. I assure you, however, that a good bulk of that time was spent on grinding for health to fill whatever subtanks I had acquired. Still, I had forgotten how tough this game was. Not just in regards to the bosses, but also in the fact that nearly every enemy in the game shoots at you.
Can’t say I didn’t have fun, though. Damn thing cost an arm and a leg (those are slowly regenerating, however, so no worries), but I can’t say it wasn’t worth it. Maybe I can get around to do that marathon of Mega Man X reviews somewhere down the line… as soon as I finish off the main classic titles.
Oh… and for those who care, CM Punk had his debut UFC match last night and was brutalized for about two minutes. I haven’t seen the match itself – will do so some time this week – but from what I’ve heard, I didn’t miss much. However, if I could offer this one slight nugget of positivity, Punk lasted longer than Brock Lesnar did in his debut UFC match. About a minute longer. So in some odd ball way, CM Punk’s UFC career is off to a great start!

Feeling a bit under the weather today… nothing special going on.
