Return Of Acclaim… Again…

Source: https://hardcoregamer.com/return-of-acclaim/

Apparently, some folks (including WWE Hall Of Famer, TNA Co-Founder, and AEW producer Jeff Jarrett) are involved in the revival of Acclaim Entertainment, which went bankrupt back in 2004. I suppose some folks are going to be excited by this, but what’s the point? Most of Acclaim’s most popular properties are currently under new ownership and licensing isn’t as cheap as it used to be.

There was an attempt to bring back the Acclaim label in the late-2000s, but this was focused on online gaming and didn’t last long. I’m curious to see where this new take on Acclaim goes from here and whether there’s any old Acclaim properties that haven’t been bought out by anyone else… who knows? Maybe they can make a new Destination Earthstar or something. That may be enough to bring back Classic Game Room for another round before falling back into obscurity due to low viewership numbers.

Aww… now I’m sad again.

For Anyone Who Cares… New Doctor Who Begins Next Month

Source: https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/doctor-who-season-two-date-b2702782.html

For anyone who still watches the show, the next season/series/whatever of Doctor Who will begin on April 12th, despite rumors that the series was set to air later this year. Included in this post is the recently released trailer, so you can decide for yourself if it’s something to look forward to.

If there is a physical release of the previous season that I can pick up for dirt cheap, I’ll probably go for that in an effort to catch up. As it is right now, I have no desire to sign up to Disney+ because I have no interest in subscribing to more than one streaming service at a time. Right now, I’m sticking with Netflix because of the WWE deal and that might last up until Wrestlemania comes and goes. After that, though… we’ll see… but it won’t be Disney+ or anything like that.

WWE Blood Money III – Super Showdown 2019

The Phenom Versus The Phenom!
The Deadman Versus DA MAN!
The UNDERTAKER Versus GOLDBERG!
Both men PAST THEIR PRIME!
What could possibly go right?!

Yep, we’re looking at another WWE Blood Money show from Saudi Arabia because I hate watching good wrestling PPVs. This not only has the double whammy of not only being a WWE show from Saudi Arabia pre-COVID, but also being a WWE from 2019, which was when the product was the absolute drizzling shits. So yeah, we’re in for a fun time here.

I mean, we COULD be talking about what happened this past weekend in Toronto… I hear a big LEGENDARY event took place and my only reaction was… “Took them long enough.” So instead, we’re doing a bunch of pre-COVID WWE Blood Money shows from the benevolent and progressive kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is the only wrestling content you’re getting this month. (I promise we’ll do the Chamber first thing in April.)

Anyway, let’s bitch about some crappy WWE shows before we can start talking about some good ones.

DON’T Bring Back Shatner

So word has gotten around that William Shatner is interested in reprising his classic role of Captain James T. Kirk. He’s expressed as much at a recent convention appearance and is supposedly in talks with a writer with a good story idea.

I’m sure some fans will be salivating at the opportunity to have Shatner come back for one last hurrah as Kirk… possibly follow up on a breadcrumb of a bad idea that was left during that last season of Picard… I, on the other hand, have no interest in seeing Shatner make one last hurrah.

I had no interest when he was making this kind of noise fifteen years ago when the first JJ Abrams Trek was making the rounds… and he was much more spry back in the day.

More than that, however, what’s the point of bringing back Shatner at this point?

“Hey, Captain Kirk. I’m Section 31 gal as played by whoever we can get. We brought you back to life because we need your help in dealing with something that could have serious ramifications throughout the Federation… um, yes, it involves a SuperWeapon of some kind… um, yes, it involves someone you may have dealt with in the past and is probably looking for revenge of some kind… yes, I’m sure there will be some emotional comprises that will be made along the way and… um, Captain? Are you still awake, Kirk? KirK?! KIRK!!!!!”

Yeah… thanks, but no thanks.

Some folks made a little fanfilm film of Kirk undergoing his last days. That was actually nice and pleasant. That’s a good note for Kirk to go out on. Go watch that, instead.

I end this post on two beeps.

Took Them Long Enough…

So apparently, something big happened in Toronto last night. Something the world never saw coming but were clamoring for this to happen since the dawn of time. I didn’t witness the event, I only heard about it just a few short minutes ago after I woke up, I thought about it for a bit, and said, “Took them long enough.”

And then I went back to bed.

In case anyone missed the State Of The Blog yesterday, I was going to avoid posting anything about wrestling this month outside of the scheduled PPV Musings, which means I’m not going deeper into this until April. I think, by that point, we’ll have a clearer picture on where things are going, but for now, just enjoy the ride.

State Of The Blog – March 2025

Another month has come and gone… it’s time for another State Of The Blog posting. We’ll get to the heavy meat and potatoes of the updates after the break, but I do want to offer a bit of a warning beforehand because I feel like I need to give you folks a heads-up on things.

So, without going too deep into things, I’ve been getting some tests done to check out some health concerns. It’s nothing that I would deem serious at the moment, but they have been more of a hindrance over the past couple days as it relates to daily life activities. I’m getting stuff checked out, I’m doing fine for the most part, and for the moment, I’m able to do most of the things I usually do, but it is putting a damper on certain things that I want to do. Hence the lack of live streams and other things that I was hoping to get done in time for March.

That said, there is quite a bit of stuff to look forward to, especially if you like reading. I don’t know…
