Oh, hum…

Interesting little something I noticed while I was visiting the local EB Games/Gamestop thing; they had a whole stash of copies of Metroid: Other M for $9.99. I didn’t get an exact count, but there could have been more than a dozen copies on the shelf. Unloved.

I guess giving Samus a personality that repelled gamers is the kiss of death for your franchise… I’d feel bad for all the shelf space it was occupying that could’ve been filled with games that were worth a damn. Too bad I didn’t have a camera on me.

$9.99… I’m almost tempted to pick up a copy… but decided on a Baconator combo from Wendy’s.

They make good burgers.

Good night.

RAW (May 28th, 2012) – Taptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptap……

You hear that sound? That is me tapping after sitting through another tepidly worthless episode of RAW.

Just as I begin thinking that there is no way that these shows can progressively get worse, they manage an even worse show. And you would think a show without lame John Cena promos would be a step up, but they manage to kill that chance at freshness with stale Big Slow promos, a stale Big Slow push, a lame plug for a video game that is still months away from release, and more soul-siphoning boredom from Johnny Ace. Not even the solid CM Punk/Daniel Bryan Danielson match could save this stinker.

That does it for me. I’m already been flaking on this show in recent months, but this takes the cake.

I guess I’m sticking with YouTube and DVDs.

TNA sues WWE… oh boy!

A frivolous lawsuit from TNA aimed at WWE? Oh boy! I wonder if Uncle Eric had a hand in that!

The first of many, I suppose… but whatever.

(2024 Update: Funny how 12 years after this frivolous lawsuit that went nowhere and was completely forgotten about, TNA would have some semblance of a working relationship with WWE. “Only in wrestling” as some would say.)

Congrats To TNA Champion Booby Roode

According to TNA, as of last night, reigning champion Bobby Roode is currently the longest-reigning TNA World Champion in the company’s history after his taped title defense against AJ Styles in what was a phenomenal match-up… of course, since the show was taped, it goes without saying that it would be a shoe-in for Roode’s reign being the longest.

I was able to nab a few moments of Impact last night, but I have to admit that the show was a hell of a lot better than the last time I saw it… and that was ages ago, seemingly. Even with Hulk Hogan’s mugging, Garret Bischoff’s suckage, and the re-debut of Sting to the surprise of fuck all, I thought it was a pretty solid showing of Impact Wrestling. Perhaps it’s due to the Open Fight Night thing they had going on last night and I do hope they stick with that for a good while, because the concept is sound and it has potential.

By far, TNA has managed a much better product than RAW did this week and had enough of a showing to live up to its “Wrestling Matters” tagline. If anything, this makes me hopeful that the live showings will turn out well.

Nice work, Dixie. You win this round… this time.
