Random Thoughts On… Wii Mini
For anyone who may or may not know, Nintendo recently announced the release (in Canada only at the moment) of the Wii-Mini Console, essentially a budget version of their original Wii console which costs about a hundred bucks, lacks Gamecube support, lacks Internet access, and looks to be a top-loading game console.
Honestly? This isn’t something I’d be interested; I’m perfectly content with my 2008 Wii that has Internet access (that I use for WiiWare and Virtual Console) and Gamecube support (that I never use), but I could certainly see this as a nice little budget alternative for those wanting to get into gaming. Of course, the fact that there are no more Wii games coming out means that it’s basically a system dead on arrival, considering the mass majority of Wii games are… let’s just say, anything but memorable. There’re some gems, some decent titles, but a mass lot of games that isn’t worth the time and money.
Then again, you could probably say that about any gaming console.
Wii Is Now A "Retro" Console
Original Article: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/11/20/nintendo-not-developing-wii-titles.aspx
Not surprising that Nintendo isn’t going to be developing any more Wii titles, considering they have a brand spanking new console on the market right now. I’m pretty sure they’ll still sell the things for another year or two and it’s a nice, cheaper alternative for those looking for a new console. So I guess the Wii is now a “retro” game machine.
I wonder if I should mod it now or later…
Linda McMahon Campaign Checks Bounce

Yeah, I didn’t realize Paul Heyman was Linda’s campaign manager.
The Thing About Splinter’s Funnies

Splinter makes a funny in the first TMNT movie by introducing Cowabunga to the Turtles’ vocabulary… and also having a pizza fall on his head; that kinda counts, too.
And then he makes a funny in the second TMNT movie by making the Turtles do ten flips after they make the headlines in a newspaper and gets mentioned in a news report (Go Ninja Go Ninja GO! I made another funny!)
And then in the third movie, he wears a lampshade on his head… just like Elvis in Blue Hawaii. He never called it a funny, so I guess it doesn’t count and that’s why the movie turned out the way that it did.
But then along comes that CGI Turtles movie from a few years back and not once did Splinter make a funny. He didn’t have some silly headwear to put on his head. What the hell, movie? Why would you refuse Maki on one of his final film performances to let him do a Splinter funny? That movie could’ve used more funnies, you know.
Anyway, that was a random thought I had. Here’s hoping there are Splinter funnies in the upcoming movie… though given who’s behind it, I’d imagine the only funnies I’d be getting are fart jokes.
Sin Neh Pad. Shmeh Neh Pad.
Was roaming around the Best Buy yesterday afternoon when I saw these Cinepad tablets on sale for about a hundred bucks. I had almost contemplated picking one of these up since they were cheap… but common sense got the better of me and ended up not buying one. All things considered, I haven’t had much use for a tablet, I’ve got plenty of other portable devices to keep me busy when on the road, and considering I’m nowhere close to getting any roaming WiFi service for anything… a tablet without Internet access is rather useless.
Too bad this ability to overcome sudden urges couldn’t apply to other things… oh well.
CM Punk. Champ For A Year… And I Don’t Care…
It was a year ago that CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio to win his second (third? forth? I lost count) WWE Championship and that reign continues to this day… and yet I feel somewhat ambivalent about it. You’d think that it would be a cause for celebration that a genuine fan favorite not only got a run with the top belt in the company, but is still champ after a whole year… but honestly, what has that run amounted to? Playing second fiddle to whatever shit main event John Cena has against Big Show and Johnny Ace?
I was hoping this heel run would be a step up and his reign would start feeling like more of a big deal, but honestly, I have a feeling that we’re living on borrowed time. You know Rock is roaming around there somewhere and, well, we need SOMETHING to merit going back on that “Once In A Lifetime” deal that nobody with a functioning half-brain bought for a single second. Hope I’m wrong, but more than likely, I am not.
Now piss off and let me get back to my Fruity Pebbles.
Review #143 – V.I.P. (PSX)
About that AVGN trailer?
I am working on a combination commentary/vlog thing on my thoughts regarding the AVGN trailer. I’m also experimenting with outputting some semblance of HD output here in order to give this thing a proper looky… don’t plan on switching to HD anytime soon (no point on my end considering the usual content I put out) but every so often it wouldn’t be an impossibility… provided this first try works.
