Fun With Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Genesis) – Special Stages

A video showcasing all seven special stages in Sonic 2. Just the special stages and my successful completion of said special stages… for whatever that’s worth these days, let’s be honest. Not bad for something made from a space age polymer plastic for years of family fun.

Though, my pet didn’t love it too.

This is the Genesis/Mega Drive version, not the nicer, smoother mobile version or the subsequent Sonic Origins version. One of these days, we’ll get to those for giggles, but not anytime soon.

Review #1200 – Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Genesis)

Yes, it took us five hundred and eighteen reviews to get to Sonic 2. By this point, we might cover Sonic 3 in six years.

Also, I considered making this a mystery review and not reveal the game outright, but people these days are genuinely stupid and would accuse me of clickbait… to which I say it’s only bait if you took it.

Did That Kid Keep His Promise?

You probably all know the “urban legend” as it were of Sir Alec Guinness (the man who played Obi-Wan in old Star Wars) ran into a kid who told him that he saw Star Wars over 100 times and wanted an autograph… to which Guinness replied that he would give him one if the kid promised him that he would never watch Star Wars ever again.

According to his autobiography, A Positively Final Appearance, the kid would end up crying and the mother would scold Sir Alec for saying something so mean to a young child. However, this Buzzfeed thing, written by that same kid, told a different story in that he was happy to make that promise and for the most part, kept his word.

Your take as to which story is accurate, but remember one thing; sometimes, people embellish things to make them seem more than what they are. Also, how many kids saw Star Wars over a hundred times back in the day? He probably made a bunch of them promise him never to watch Star Wars again to varying degrees of success.

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement Announced

Well, they’re working on another one. Due out in 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series Whatever. No Switch version of either or, though.

Too early to tell where we’re going here. I’m happy to see that they’re doing another one, but whether it turns out to be any good… we’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?

HOME MOVIES – 2025-06-17 ÎLES-DE-BOUCHERVILLE NATIONAL PARK

Had last Tuesday off and decided to take a trip to the national park on Ile Charon. Filmed some footage and talked some bits – these will be cut up into clips for the review openings – but for those who came from Friday’s review, the thing you’re looking for is at the end of the video… though I do appreciate if you sat through the whole thing.

Iron What Now?

Tout d’abord, je tiens à souhaiter à tous mes voisins francophones un joyeux national du Québec. Profitez de vos festivals pendant que je reste à la maison à regarder des vidéos Youtube en anglais.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way…

I got an e-mail reminder from someone that some show called Ironheart is set to debut today. My first reaction is “What the hell is an Ironheart?” The only thing that I know of with that name is that it’s a title of a Japanese superheroine porn movie that came out years ago. I never saw it myself, but I’ve heard good things. Anyway, I don’t give it another thought.

Then I frequent some comic site somewhere – name withheld to protect the guilty – and they mention something called Ironheart that’s based on a comic that apparently nobody likes… and it’s a Marvel thing. Again, I draw a complete blank.

Then I give it a little bit of thought and it hits me… oh, right, Ironheart. That thing where little black girl makes her own Iron Man suit and… apparently, nobody likes the character, but they still insist on pushing her as the next big thing. And so she gets the MCU treatment because… little black girl makes an Iron Man suit and… I don’t know.

From what I understand, this was in the can and ready to go for a couple years, but they only just put this out now because David Zazlov isn’t running Marvel and so we don’t shelf projects as tax write-offs.

So they’re debuting this series and I’m like… “Why haven’t I heard of this thing?” Granted, I’m not following this MCU stuff as deeply as most people, if at all, but usually whenever there’s a new Marvel thing coming up, it at least gets mentioned or you’d get a few trailers out of it… but all I’ve was able to find was one trailer. And look, I’ve seen the trailer. I didn’t care for it. Therefore, I’m not re-subbing to Disney+ for this one show. (I just got done watching the second season of Andor, which was largely excellent. And then the sub died right after. Fine by me.)

Whoever sent me the reminder about Ironheart… thanks for reminding me of the porn parody film. That’s my biggest takeaway from this whole deal.

P.S. – I may have figured out why I missed the Ironheart trailer… because it came out on the same day that DC Studios put out their new Superman trailer. Needless to say, I was more hyped for Superman and forgot about… what’s her face again?

Besides, Superman has a dog.

That’s a good boy.

Later.
