A PPV tonight you say? Fuck if I knew that…
Anywhoo, last night was WWE’s Elimination PPV… oh, I mean Elimination Chamber PPV… sorry, but I just went by what Johnny Ace called it. After all, this guy’s the Executive VP of Talent Relations… despite having no actual talent aside from kissing ass. Anyway, time to shoot out some random thoughts. Should be pretty simple stuff, really.
I’ve yet to watch this year’s Royal Rumble, but a friend had promised he’d send me a copy of the show this week. He did, however, send me last month’s TLC PPV, so there’s that. So I decided to share some musings with this PPV that most of you have probably already seen. This isn’t an up-and-up report or anything; just random observations and musings on the show, similar to how I approach the RAW Bytes, so to speak.
A down-and-dirty recap of last night’s PPV… maybe I should be more timely with potential picks, but whatever…
A little late for predictions… but I can give you quick results and my quick reactions in italics.
World Tag-Team Champions Air Boom defeated Miz and R-Truth via disqualification.
Meh… I’ve got no complaints. Adds to the whole CON-Spiracy theory Killings has going on.
Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes defeated Ted Dibiase to retain the title.
Don’t watch Smackdown enough to care…
United States Champion Dolph Ziggler defeated John Morrison, Jack Swagger, and Alex Riley to retain the title.
No big surprise here. Dolph is actually growing on me now… I kinda sorta like him now.
Mark Henry defeated Randy Orton to win the World Heavyweight Championship…
Hey, look. Mark Henry is a world champion! Actually, you know what? All joking aside, hats off to him. The guy’s been around for fifteen years, he’s been put through some ridiculous situations, and he’s persevered through it all. Not to mention that this is actually the first time where he actually felt like a legitimate monster and could viably be a worthwhile champion. So, yeah. Congrats, Mark Henry. You deserved it.
Divas Champion Kelly Kelly defeated Beth Phoenix to retain the title…
Meh…
John Cena overcomes the odds yet again and can go fuck himself.
Yeah, exactly. There goes another potential main event talent. Fuck you, Cena.
HHH defeated CM Punk following five-hundred people getting involved in the match.
This match sucked. Plain and simple. Fuck you, McSon-in-Law.
Night of Champions… pretty meh. Might need a second viewing, but… meh.
WRESTLEMANIA 27
Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GE
April 3, 2011
Quick simple notes written shortly after viewing. I don’t recall if this was posted on the blog at the time, but in any case… here it is (again?)
So here are my predictions for TNA’s Against All Odds PPV that is taking place tonight and boy, do I have very little to say on each match, soooo….
Wait a minute… it’s already over? Well, so much for that.
Can I ask you folks something? Why is it that whenever I get a TNA PPV for viewing, it’s almost always the BAD shows? It’s never one of those rare instances where TNA puts out something resembling a quality PPV, but it’s always a show that not only hurts my brain to watch, but also hurts the ol’ wallet. Can I not watch a fucking good PPV from TNA for once? Is it at all possible? I mean, sure, WWE tends to put out some stinkers, but at least the PPVs are largely good and I don’t often complain about the booking unless it’s giving John Worthless more TV time despite getting…
Never mind, dude. We’re past that now.
Anyway, let’s get this over with…
So here are some brief thoughts on the TNA Genesis PPV that took place a short while ago. Not much else to say in this regard except what’s behind the page break, although I will say right off the bat that I largely regret watching this show.
