(Yeah, so I wrote this back in 2015 and posted it a year later, but rewatching the show recently and in context with everything else, I felt this needed a bit of an update, so here we are.)
This is a PPV from 1997 that I’ve only seen bits and pieces of on YouTube and was able to track down a copy of the full show just recently. For those requiring a bit of context, this was about a month removed from Wrestlemania 13, where Undertaker won the WWF Championship, Bret Hart and Steve Austin had their bloody submission match that would change the course of their careers forever, and we had this Rocky Melvin fellow defend his IC title amist a sea of “Rocky Sucks” chants. Should be fun, I guess.

So Stone Cold Steve Austin won the Royal Rumble under somewhat dubious circumstances and that necessitated what the WWF dubbed a “Final Four” match; a four-way elimination match that where one can be eliminated via pinfall, submission, and throw over the top rope onto the ground. Then Shawn Michaels vacated the WWF title because he lost his smile or something… and now the winner of the match would be crowed the new WWF Champion.
Quite the set-up, folks. Let’s see how this goes.

I’ll be honest; I had no intention of watching this show. But hey, if the main event failed to live up to the hype and I didn’t watch it, I wouldn’t have been able to use the banner above… so I saw the show for some reason and did an audio thing afterwards, so much of what’s here has already been mentioned there… but for the sake of the archives, I suppose…
Besides, there is a shitty match in this PPV.
So I didn’t watch the show live… but after hearing how much of a wonderful show this was, I ended up getting the replay about a week or so later and I’m kinda glad I did…? I guess…
So yes, this is AEW’s second Double Or Nothing PPV, originally to eminate from Las Vegas before Corona forced them to move to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville with some of the wrestlers playing the role of fans; pretty much the only place they’ve been doing Dynamite as of late. Highlighting the show are the crowning of a new TNT champion, a hard hitting Wotld title bout straight out of Combat Zone Wrestling (but tamer), and the Stadium Stampede.
I’m excited to revisit this again, so let’s do it.
The final IYH show from 1996 and then we’ll talk Double Or Nothing next week… unless you want me to comment on the Shittiest Wrestling Match Evar or something.
Fun Fact: The title of this In Your House event, It’s Time, originates from Vader’s catchphrase “It’s Time! It’s VADER TIME!” This was supposed to be his headline event, but… you know… PLAN CHANGED and so we got Sid instead.

Yeah, so… I watched this show… and then I did a recording on this show… and now here’s a write-up on this show… which hasn’t changed much from the recording on Monday. For context, the main event was a filmed segment where both men and women fought through Titan Towers – WWE’s old headquarters – to reach the roof where the two briefcases reside.
I wasn’t a big fan of this show, but to be fair, it was a fairly short show, ending after two and a half hours of action. So that’s less bad stuff to deal with, but is it really all that bad?
(If you don’t mind something old and re-purposed, here’s something that was posted in 2015 and reposted in 2020. That way, we can continue the string of IYH PPV musings uninterrupted!)
It’s another in a long line of two-hour throwaway In Your House PPVs that nobody in their right mind should care about, except this time it’s in CANADA. This is one month after King Of The Ring, where Austin 3:16 was born, Mankind drew first blood (not literally) against the Undertaker, and Ahmed Johnson won the IC title… oh and Shawn Michaels was there too, for some reason.
