It’s the fiftieth gimmick table… and aside from a beenie boo, a dog in a box, and a couple DVD cases, not much else happens. A fitting milestone.

Sunday Gimmick Tables post on occasional Sunday afternoons and showcasing some sort of gimmick. Despite the title, not every gimmick is displayed on a table.
Sunday Gimmick Table #49 – Atari Flashback 2 (2005) Tomfoolery
An almost hour long video of me playing the follow-up Atari Flashback 2 console from 2005 – the one that more properly replicates Atari 2600 functionality before the eventual emulator boxes from ATGames became a thing. This one was in the can for months and doesn’t go as deep into the weeds as the original Flashback lookback – it’s more general messing around with the games and such. Nonetheless, I felt compelled to add some direct feed video so that you can properly gauge how some of these games turned out.
Most of the games included on the set can be found on your various Atari compilations (Atari Flashback, Atari Vault, Atari 50, etc.) and thus there’s no need for a deep dive into each game.
Sunday Gimmick Table #48 – Revisiting The Atari Flashback (2004) Console
Been wanting to do this one for a while and, well, better late than never, I suppose. Despite having done this before, I felt it worth revisiting the old Flashback unit, especially now that I have the means to compare each of the twenty games featured to their original versions (via vintage carts and compilation sets).
You can watch the old lookback here, but I feel this does a better job of comparing and contrasting the various games.
Sunday Gimmick Table #47 – C U Cena? Cuz I Sure Can’t.
Welp… they made a John Cena figure you can’t see… or touch… or feel… or confirm its very existence. A real piece of work this one LOL.
Sunday Gimmick Table #46 – Tongxinyi Fun Games Unforgettable Childhood
The Dollar Store three dollar value pack video.
Sunday Gimmick Table #45 – Artikl Wireless “Retro” Keyboard
If you’re going to slap the word “retro” on your gimmick keyboard, it would be nice if it played the part instead of just being marketing bollocks.
Sunday Gimmick Table #44 – WWE Steel Cage Challenge MSI Plug N Play Unit
Another classic NES game has been released onto the masses… oh wait, it’s just a MSI re-release of an old crummy WWF game with a couple edits to the roster and some glaring omissions that make an already bad game even worse. What a way to celebrate 25 years of utter mediocrity.
Sunday Gimmick Table #43 – Orico HD Enclosure That Looks Like A Cassette
It’s a hard drive enclosure that looks like a vintage cassette tape… but does it play like one? The answer is no, of course not, why are you asking silly questions? Anyway, in this video, I add a hard drive into the thing and check if it works.
Sunday Gimmick Table #42 – Revisiting The Miracle X Famiclone
Call it a “season finale” if you wish. I call it an extended break until October. Either way, what better way to end this current stretch than to revisit an old piece of hardware and try some new stuff with it?
Sunday Gimmick Table #41 – Famicom 8-in-1 Multicart (QQ-9097)
This is where the well runs a bit dry, yes?
