I Tap Out

So you have this historic Women’s Money In The bank ladder match on your $9.99 WWE Network PPV event. Give it this nice little video package pushing the supposed Women’s Revolution gimmick that you’re trying to convince people is a real thing… and then you end the match by having a chinless dude climb the ladder, grab the briefcase, and toss it to one of the women and she “wins” the match. Ooh, controversy! Conversation!

So what do you do when you have this situation? Easy; you book the exact same for next week’s episode of Smackdown. The same match, the same stipulation… only this time, it’s on FREE TV.

On top of that, you remember that Naomi vs. Lana match from the PPV? Apparently, people “loved” that match so much that we’re getting a rematch next week… ON FREE TV!

Yeah, I am done, kids. This whole thing broke my brain.

Some More Thoughts On That Women’s Ladder Match

Last Sunday was the place where WWE held its first Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match featuring five of Smackdown’s best women and the winner of the the first-ever Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match… is James Ellsworth… who is not an active participant in this match and also not a woman.

Did WWE hire back Vince Russo or something? Because this sounds like the sort of thing he’d write.

Buff Bagwell Announces Retirement. People Ask "Who?"

Source: http://www.sescoops.com/buff-bagwell-announces-retirement-tour/

I kid, of course. People are probably asking “I thought Buff Bagwell retired years ago.”

But nope, he’s been active on the indy scene for a few years since the last time he was a big deal on television, which was long, long ago. I could research to say when that was, but this is just a quick blurb more than anything.

Regardless, all the best to Buff and here’s to a happy post-career life.

Let’s Talk About The Ratings, Bro

In a break from the norm where we usually spell out doom and gloom for TNA Impact Wrestling – though, make no mistake; we’re well prepared for that occasion should the need arises – I’d figured it would be fun if we spell out doom and gloom for World Wrestling Entertainment instead. And man, if there was ever a time where such talk is worth taking really seriously, this would be it.

Watched RAW and SMACKDOWN for the first time in a long time.

Might as well gather five points from each show…

First off, some RAW notes:

1 – That segment with Alexa Bliss and the whole “This Is Your Life” bit was absolute shit. Bad acting, bad dialogue, and Bayley is made to look like a chump again. Good lord, this was pretty shit.

2 – Enzo’s been attacked… gee, I wonder who it did. (Hint: It’s Cig Bass.)

3 – Kurt Angle’s in trouble because of a phone call… is this how they’re bringing Stephanie back? Because if that’s the case, it looks like I’m one and done.

4 – Miz vs. Ambrose for the IC title… didn’t I already see this shit on Smackdown? (And it was done better there too.)

5 – The big multi-man thing isn’t working for me. Not to mention the prize that awaits the winner (getting suplexed by the beast from Steroid City) is kinda shit.

So, no go for RAW.

As far as Smackdown goes…

1 – Baron Corbin bragging about beating Sami Zayn in a segment hosted by a guy who has beaten Sami Zayn for years is nothing worth bragging about.

2 – A multi-woman contest gets thrown out the window to make way for the ladies to have a Money In The Bank match to call their own. Gee, didn’t see that coming. (Totally saw that coming…)

3 – Oh joy, it’s New Day vs. Usos… again, didn’t I see this shit on RAW already?

4 – Randy Orton cuts his usual droning promo while WWE Champion Jinder Mahinder appears on screen to gloat or something. Meh.

And that’s about all I got… oh wait, missing one point.

5 – Dolph Ziggler beating AJ Styles… because I guess I’m supposed to care about Dolph Ziggler all of a sudden.

There. Now I’m done.
