Hey, Moses. Where's My Car? GOOLLLDDBBEEEERRRRRGGGGG!!!!!!!!

You know, I noticed something strange on RAW when I was watching Sid’s return (seen below if nobody took down the video). Sid looks noticeably… smaller than last we saw him. And watching his WWE.com interview, Sid sounded noticeably… coherent. What happened to Sid that made him sane?

Maybe Goldberg should crush another car… just in case.

Restoration Process – 20 PerCent

With work taking time, restoring the old archive has been slow. At the very least, I can comfort myself with the fact that the majority of the commentaries are done (only missing one old commentary due to missing raw files and some playthrough commentaries). I’ve also started on restoring old vintage videos (some not even released) and the wrestling game matches. Some might even make it to YouTube.

In the meantime, I’m slowly uploading the remaining reviews onto the Dailymotion page. And come Canada Day, the 100th review will be posted on both channels on the same day… at the same time? Probably not.

Random Thoughts On… TGWTG's Special

…or rather the lack of a special. Apparently, it’s still be worked on, but I find it rather odd that it isn’t ready yet, since in the past couple years, their anniversary special would either be released already or in progress by this time of year. Mind you, I found their prior attempts at epics to be dismal (and made a couple reviews out of it) but if they’re taking the extra time to make it actually something resembling good and something that the casual fan or outsider could enjoy, then that’s probably a good thing. While there are some things they can’t fix – if the performances themselves are shit, there’s not much they can do about that – the extra time allotted could be used to make the most of what they could.

In any case, I really hope that the TGWTG people can put out a product that can be enjoyed by as much as of an audience as possible. There’s no point in making a film for the fans because the sad truth is that the majority of die-hard fans will like whatever shit that site produces. And that’s not an insult or low blow. That’s the goddamn truth. So building a product with such a limited (in more ways than one) audience seems short-sighted and foolish in my view.
I have said this before and I’ll say it again; Doug, don’t fuck this up.

On that note… Spoony is apparently gone from TGWTG.

Surprised to hear about this. Don’t know if anything happened and I don’t want to speculate… but yeah. Didn’t see that coming.

Best of luck, Noah.

Restoration Process 11 PerCent

Finished redoing the early set of reviews. Began work on restoring some commentary videos. The commentaries are pretty easy to restore in this case; a couple of them are simply merged versions of previously 2-part commentary videos and the rest are more or less intact. The only issue is that the rendering takes quite a bit of time to pull off, which means I have to keep busy on other things. So we’ll see.

In the meantime, I’ve slowly begun work on more reviews for a future event. More on that later down the road.

RA2:SE review… ??? LULZ1

I mentioned in a previous blog post that my hard drive containing my video archive crashed and I have been rebuilding these rendered videos using the raw Vegas files. Unfortunately, due to my earlier inexperience and mismanagement of files, I lost a couple reviews. One of them was Rebel Assault II, the 2010 review. I was originally going to do a rebuild of the file, but I think it would be partly interesting to put together a “special edition” of the review. This would include re-ripped footage, re-edits, and possibly a redub.

The re-edit MIGHT be seen online. We’ll see.

TNA Finally Did It…

They produced an episode of Impact Wrestling that was actually entertaining, with good storylines, good wrestling, and actually piqued my interest for next week’s show. Not only that, but it was a substantially better show than RAW was… not say much considering RAW was one of those putrid three-hour shows… but still, this is a stark improvement over the past year’s rubbish and if they keep putting out programming like this, I might be more inclined to follow them and give it a go.

(2020 Update: A pity that the show was so good, I couldn’t be bothered to provide any details on why it was a good show. I may have consumed something that altered my thought patterns, but then again, stranger things have happened.)
