Anyone know what's going with MMPRINO?

It seems as though their last Facebook post has then encouraging discussion on Austin St. John’s return to the world of the living. Any news as to where their generico stuff is going? Is it cancelled? Did it get taken down? Are they even working on the bloody thing? Are they waiting for the reboot to come out in a couple years so that they can take credit for it?

I’d check, but I’m far too lazy.

The Movement Is Done…

In the end, it was a broken neck that ended the dream… Well, it had to happen sooner or later.

People are probably upset about this turn of events and might even think the past year of pushing the guy to the top seems like a waste, but at the end of the day, I’m not displeased with how things turned out. The guy got to beat John Cena clean, got to headline PPV main events, managed to get the crowd behind him, and eventually got the one Wrestlemania moment that made it all worthwhile. All of these things, you cannot take away from Bryan Danielson no matter how hard you tried.

It was a good story with its ups and downs. A shit ending due to real life circumstances, but a nice feelgood story from an organization that produces so few of them these days.

Best of luck in your recovery, Bryan. And here’s hoping you come back stronger and better than ever.

TNA Draws Little…

From a Lords Of Pain posting, a fan photo of a TNA Wrestling event in Bowie, Maryland, where they played to a crowd of up to 300 paying fans at a minor league stadium. To give some context, the average minor league baseball game would draw at least three times that number. I don’t want to speak ill of TNA (mostly to avoid attracting that kind of fan), but for a decade-old wrestling organization with national television exposure and having been home to some major names to draw this paltry an attendance is pretty pathetic and pretty telling of TNA’s woes at the moment.

Of course, ask any TNA fan or office worker about this sort of thing and they will insist that EVERYTHING IS FINE.

Yeah… right…

TNA's Plastic Beard Vs. WWE's Hairy Fake Beard

http://www.wrestlecrap.com/sbt/someone-bought-this-fake-beard-battle-tna-eric-young-vs-wwe-daniel-bryan/

People like to bitch about WWE’s stupid antics, but when TNA does the cheaper, bargain-basement version of it, it’s a-okay, right?

Or is it supposed to be the other way around? I am the confused.

Never Went Back….

You know, I don’t know if I’ve ever said this before, but I’ll say it here.

I never went back to the 1987 animated series since they last aired episodes in the early-90s.
The other day, I went by the HMV store and they had all the TMNT seasons for about ten bucks a season. Compared to how much they used to cost, I thought that was a hell of a deal. And I figured that for about a hundred bucks plus tax, I could own the entire series and revisit some childhood memories. This was the thing that made me a Turtles fan for a time. This was my introduction to that whole franchise and laid the groundwork for my faltering fanhood. It started with this and I had the opportunity to see this show for the first time in years.
And so, I didn’t buy any of the seasons. Not one.
Here’s the thing… whenever I go back to an older show that I used to enjoy, I watch it for the first time in years and it ended up being a lot worse than I remember it being. Nostalgia can color your perception of something and when it came to watching older stuff and realizing how poorly some (or all) of it has aged, it left me a bit shakened.
80s Turtles was goofy, without question. And while I remember enjoying the show to the bitter end, there’s always the possibility that the whole thing is colored and I might not enjoy the show today. Maybe I held off buying the seasons to hold on to those cherished memories… or something to that extent.
It’s not all bad, though. I own the original trilogy of TMNT films on DVD and they still hold up relatively well (well, the first two, at least). The video games are still fun to play. And reading through some of the old TMNT Adventures issues from Archie Comics, those things are still compelling stories told within the framework of the goofier incarnation of turtles.
Maybe some day, I’ll go back to that old series and see if it holds up.
But not today.

No More Shield.

Here’s the important bits of RAW; Bootista quits (again), Daniel Bryan to defend title against Kane at MiTB PPV event or else the title is up for grabs in the gimmick match, why does the other Bella Twin still have a job, and Seth Rollins goes bad because McSonInLaw had a Plan B that was pulled out of his ass. Sure, why not?

On the bright side, there is some semblance of logical progression here and the Rollins turn is actually intriguing, especially since it comes off one day after the Shield’s clean sweep over Evolution. And what’s more is that, if they play their cards right, there’s actually logic behind this move; Rollins being the guy who does the high-risk antics and then being offered an easier life could be the big influence here. I could go into a spiel of how there’s a potential for the creative monkeys to screw this up – and make no mistake, such a possibility exists – but so far, this particular storyline is coming along nicely.
More of this, please.

The Lovehog's New Web Domain Where He Can Make Excuses Without Consequence

Lewis “Linkara” Lovehog (or however you usually spell his damn name) has just unveiled his new website.

http://atopthefourthwall.com/

Say what you will about his actual review content – I personally don’t care for them – but the site does look really nice at the very least. And at least now Lewis can relish in the fact that he has the ability to ban people from not kissing his ass or accusing him of making excuses for never uploading any History of Power Rangers episodes.

Best of luck with the new site, Lewis. And let me just say, on a final note; STOP MAKING EXCUSES, GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS AND GIT TO THE NEW HOPR PEOPLE CARE ABOUT.

Marvel Announces The Temporary Sabbatical Of Wolverine

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/04/25/marvel-announces-the-death-of-wolverine

Old news, but I just came across it now. And… look, death means nothing in comics. I know this. You know this. Everyone knows this. So why do you keep falling for it?
He’ll be back in two years when it’s time to start promoting the next X-Men feature film or something.

Note To Ralphie

Explain to me how a team manages to lose a 4-1 lead in the second period. Explain that to me. Good thing they managed another comeback, but for fuck’s sake, how do you lose wind of that far off a lead? And while we’re on the subject, where’s my coffee?

And yes, I am indeed posting this on the blog. You’re more likely to catch it here.
