I find it oddly amusing (or bemusing) that the “Razor Ramon” character portrayed by Scott Hall is getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and yet Scott Hall himself is not. I wonder if they’re going to bring back the fake Razor to accept the induction in place of Hall.
Still, congratulations to “Razor” for the impending induction. Now all we need to do is induct “Vinnie Vegas” into the Hall of Fame and we’re all set.
And… I didn’t laugh. I wasn’t in the slightest bit amused… I just sat there, watching, waiting for greatness to come along and… nothing. In fairness, I can’t blame Rolfe because, try as he might, he couldn’t bring anything to the table about Big Rigs that hasn’t been touched on before. Big Rigs, much like that game he’s making a movie, has been beaten to death so many times and by so many people (myself included) that you pretty much know everything there is to know about the game. And by the time the NERD finally gets to the game, his approach is somewhat underwhelming because he’s essentially retreading what others have harked on and mocked.
That’s kind of the thing that gets me more than anything with the guy; when he gets to a game that’s been touched on so many times by all the inspired and second-rate angry folks, what does he have to offer on these things that hasn’t been done by anybody else and in some cases, done better? In regards to Big Rigs, two videos come to mind that I found to be better; one of them is Armake21’s old “Games That Suck: Big Rigs” video and the other is the hilariously short video review by Alex Navarro. Check those out if you have the chance.
(2020 Update: This video hurt my brain… and now I’m sharing the pain.)
I’m watching the James & Mike video where they’re playing the Super Mario Wacky Worlds prototype game and… guys, you do realize that is an UNFINISHED prototype. As in NOT FINISHED. There is a reason why it was never released for sale during the CDi’s active years… BECAUSE IT WASN’T FINISHED AND IT WAS CANNED. You cannot play and bitch about the thing as if it was a FULL GAME. This video was almost Boresian in its conception.
