Welp, it’s March… stuff happens on March, doesn’t it?
VIDEO SCHEDULE
New weekly (or is it weakly) Sunday Gimmick Tables will hit throughout the month of March and admittedly, it’s mostly lightweight, unexciting stuff that I was curious about, made a bunch of quick videos over, and turned into content to be published on a weekly basis. The real “meaty” stuff will probably hit once the ATARIBOX video hits… which will happen in April.
In the meantime, we begin the countdown to 1300 this month, which includes two long-delayed Dominus reviews, a retro revival of an LJN title, and a bunch of N64 vids, including an apparently long awaited review of a bonafide N64 wrestling classic. The only one of the AKI games released ’round these parts that we haven’t sampled.
Oh, and there’s another Tetris review as well… because of course, there is.

WRESTLING MUSINGS
1996 happens to be a leap year… which means that in order to maintain the gimmick of musing on Nitro shows from 30 years ago to the day, they will now be posted on Wednesdays rather than the usual Thursdays. With no PPV Musings on the horizon any time soon, I don’t think that’ll be much of an issue. Again, the plan is to keep this going until the Scott Hall debut in May. After that, we’ll see where we go from there.
As far as anything else is concerned, still AWOL on a Netflix subscription, so no Elimination Chamber show for me. Still debating on Mania for the moment, but so far… nothing is working for me, brutha.
SOMEHOW, WRITTEN REVIEWS RETURN
Technically speaking, they returned with The Late Shift Is A Bad Movie Based On A Good Book that was posted last Tuesday, but the point is that every Tuesday, for the next little while, there will be a written review of something up and about. The next couple ones will cover a couple comic books and then there’s a book review coming up. As it turns out, I’ve done quite a bit of reading and I have some thoughts on the things I’ve read. Could I have posted some of these earlier to keep them more relevant? Possibly… but why get lost in the shuffle when everyone else is doing the same thing at the same time? So that’s one regular feature going forward; every Tuesday is a new written review of some type.
It’s not exactly a grand return to form or anything like that… but it’s a start. And the idea is to gradually introduce some regular (or even semi-regular) features here and there along the way rather than have it all be done in one shot and the wad is blown after a couple weeks.
BACKGROUND FIXES AND UPDATES
This past month has been mostly doing some work on the functionality portion of the blog that has been needing work for a while; specifically adding specific pages for easier access to the larger body of works instead of having to manual scan through posts. DTM Rambles now has a page that will be as regularly updated as the series. AEW PPV Musings now has a dedicated page so that you can easily find what you’re looking for, with the eventual goal to give all the PPVs their own dedicated pages – with WWE naturally being the last of the bunch to come along since they are so many. Streamlined the review pages somewhat so there’s less tabs. That means scrolling down considerable pages to find the review you want in a specific year, although I’ll try and add slugs to help navigate things more easily. And there’s general legacy posts being restored.
At the moment, I’m in the process of creating all new thumbnails for the video reviews and hopefully that means resuming the remastering project that begins with the 2012 stuff. It’ll be a long process and hopefully by year’s end, everything will be hunky dory.
Some people may have noticed (or not) the disappearance of the old PR Fanfics that made sporadic returns these past couple months. Yeah, I made those posts private for the moment. I want to hold off on bringing those back into the fold until the rest of the goods are just about ready to go… along with something else I have in mind. For those interested in old attempts at poorly written fanfiction, stay tuned is all I will say.
