How has your 2026 been so far? Mine has been… a thing that happened.
If you’re expecting much in the way of actual content… well, there’re video reviews, Nitro musings, and maybe a couple other things. This past month has (mostly) been dedicated to some minor tweaks and fixed in the background that have been LONG overdue and with most of that (almost) out of the way, I can start on prepping some new material for the future.
Further details after the break, but TLDR version for you folks in a hurry; expect more stuff to come along in March.
VIDEO SCHEDULE AND OTHER NOTES
The first couple weeks will cover some more Valis games before diving into a brief run of Atari 8-Bit titles and rounding out the month of February with a look at the localized Rushing Beat trilogy of SNES brawlers. Extra Bits will continue its weekly Tuesday potpourri, beginning with Tuesday’s compilation of Power Rangers Time Force reviews and possibly something a little extra the week after.
Other than that, there’s two live streams coming up later this month. One on the 21st where I play Zeruda No Densetsu (Famicom LOZ) and on the 28th where I play… something else. Gimmick Tables will hit some time in March and may be a bi-weekly thing. Other stuff being worked on, promise.

WRESTLING MUSINGS UPDATE
No, I have not watched the Royal Rumble yesterday. Honestly didn’t even know it was a thing until a short while ago when I went online and saw all the reports on the thing. Apparently, I didn’t miss a bloody thing and so I’m not that inclined to watch it anytime soon… especially since that would require a Netflix subscription that I do not have at the moment. That said, there’s a Bite commentary coming up that will discuss my mindset with modern wrestling if you need something related to wrestling of today… which I am NOT watching.
In the meantime, Nitro musings will continue on Thursday, but will be moving to Wednesdays next month since 1996 was a leap year and 2026 is not… there’s a gimmick with these things where I’m looking at Nitro episodes from 30 years ago and to keep it going on Thursday would kill the gimmick… a gimmick, mind you, that will come to an end in May when Scott Hall makes his eventual appearance.
Not quite sure where we’ll go beyond that. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there, I suppose.
CONTACT PAGE ADDED
I’ve added a new Introductory Page to the Home tab as well as a Contact page. So anyone who wants to submit questions to the DTM Mailbag can use this and they’ll likely be answered there.
OTHER FEATURES WHEN, CIVVIE DTM?
Like I said in the opening blurb before the break, give me another month on that before we start having “regular” features on this blog. Hell, most of the time was spent on behind the scenes fixes like proper pages to look up shit. For example, re-organizing the reviews pages so you have multiple years to scan through rather than going year by year because menu navigation was becoming a bit cumbersome. And just recently, I just started work on pages for the various PPV Musings so you can go from there instead of scrolling through endless pages of stuff, bogging down browser resources as a result. Less sexy but functional is what I’m aiming for here. Hopefully, by year’s end, there’ll be less navigating pointless bullshit and more navigating…
That said, Bite commentaries have begun to be a monthly thing ’round these parts. There’ll be some occasional written review drops here and there, including one on that Late Shift movie covering the first Tonight Show fiasco. By March, there’ll be a clearer picture on where things are at feature-wise, but there’s a lot of work to do beforehand and there’s still the matter of backlog material to bring back.
On that note…
BACKLOG REPORT
Quite a considerable amount of vintage material has been restored, including some “taboo” material and such.
The remainder of the 2011 video reviews have been “refreshed” on Youtube with new numbered title cards as well as some minor edits to fix some long-standing quibbles on my end. Logically, I should start re-upping the 2012 stuff, but then I decided to finish off the 2016 stuff, which are mostly easy edits in that all they need is a new (numbered) title card. So that will be the focus next week… and maybe give all the other reviews that are sticking around proper thumbnails so that if people decide to comment on this crap, I’ll be able to figure out WHAT they’re commenting on.
All the movie and book reviews of years past have been restored and given spiffy new banners. Comic reviews and a couple other written bits and bobs are next on the list of written review restorations, although these may already be done by the time you’re reading this or at least close to it. At last count, I’m probably a couple away from knocking that off the list before I can start prepping new stuff for the future.
Some vintage posts from yesteryear – a couple long-winded posts about AVGN 100 and a poorly-aged discussion about line reads – have been added back to the line up, which you can find under Written Commentaries and Gaming Personalities. Also, I’ve taken the liberty of restoring some of the old Grumble, Grumble entries from back in the day, which were the precursors to the Video Commentary series that would come along later and make these things redundant. A significant change made to these is the removal of the Grumble, Grumble label; these can also be found under Gaming Personalities and Written Commentaries. It’s been years and honestly, you don’t need that label anymore now. I might bring it back for something else somewhere down the road, but eh, whatever.
Also brought back to “life” as it were was the series of old PPV Predictions that I used to do in the old Webstation days over the course of a decade before I eventually just stopped, complete with results added in after the fact if the posts still had them. I thought about dividing these into separate posts (the original predictions page and a results page), but ultimately decided it was too much work for something that very few people were actually going to go back and read.
Finally, I’ve added a DTM’s Fiction tab where you can scroll through all my attempts at fiction both original and fanficcy. Yes, that means you can eventually find my earlier Power Rangers fanfics from the early 2000s. The formatting is a bit whacked, but it’s presented in a semi-readable format. I actually did make an effort in “remastering” these things a couple years ago, but I misplaced the files somewhere. The search continues… and maybe a proper page when all this shit is up and running. Have fun with my past failings.
All in all, I’d say January has given us a pretty good start and looking a little farther ahead, the lightweight February is going to be a benefit on both the video and written front, especially since March is going to be seeing some pretty significant material on the horizon… even moreso now thanks to some last minute glitches that have (thankfully) been largely resolved.
