Happy spooky month, kids.
First new update to the blog is the introduction of a new State Of The Blog header banner that actually covers the entire column of the post as opposed to just a sliver of it. Please look forward to future banner updates that will see the new sizing take place. Will we replace all the old banners? Not really, but new posts will be have banners that are appropriately sized for this blog and not merely be relics of what came before.
With that said, there’s some ground to cover, so let’s get it over with and move on with our sad lives.
VIDEO SCHEDULE (Card Subject To Change)
Yeah, I skipped out on Monday due to personal reasons… but hopefully, the hype package has you hyped and if not… oh well. So there’s a couple Jag reviws this week, followed by a couple weeks of random stuff, followed by a week long marathon of daily reviews counting down to 1250, which I’ve already stated in the past was going to be Hell’s Kitchen for Wii (the review is already in the can) and then we finish off the month of the Deominus of Castlevania games… nobody is going to get that.
Other than that, if time permits, there will be a live show here and there. I’m still in the process of finishing off the Gimmick Tables as soon as I get some proper lighting working, but know that there is some fun stuff coming up as we lead up to the fiftieth gimmick table (likely in December). From there, we’ll see what happens.
WRESTLING MUSINGS UPDATE
So, for what it’s worth, the WCW Nitro posts will continue to be a thing for the next few months. I had these written months ago when I was binging on Nitros for the short time I was bed ridden and so far, I’ve up to April 1996 written up, so this will last us a good while. That’s pretty much going to be the wrestling content on this page for the foreseeable future, as I haven’t had the urge to pull up any old PPVs to watch and I’ve also not been keeping up with modern wrestling in months. They tell me it’s getting good, but I’ve been happy watching old WCW shit on Youtube. Sometimes, I’ll even dive into the WWE Vault. That’s providing me with more than enough wrestling output to fulfill that itch just fine.
So we’ll see where we got from here.
OTHER BLOG NOTES
May as well get some miscellaneous notes out of the way, but they’re major updates regardless.
– Some work has been done on the menu, but it’s still a long way from being finalized. I did provide links to some “popular” or noteworthy segments, such as the various commentaries and audio programs, but the plan is eventually to give these things proper pages to link to and you can navigate from there. The general plan in regards to site maintenance and integration is that the bulk of the work is done by the end of the year, at which point I can be work on video restoration, which has been delayed due to a variety of factors – most of them technical.
– I’ve recorded enough episodes (for lack of a better term) of the DTM Mailbag to last the rest of the year, which should basically boil down to thirteen. Should there be more to come in the future, we’ll probably pick this up in February, which is when the “new season” of sorts will begin on the blog.
That’s about the gist of it. The general plan for these last couple months are going to be whatever is ready to go video-wise is what goes up while I work up a plan of sorts for next year’s output, while also making sure that all the rebuilding and restructuring of the previous content of past blogs is restored to a semi-functional state. The end game for 2025 is to get the important bits up and running so that I can focus on pure material for 2026, which I’ve already started on. We’ll see about proper material when the time comes, but for now, we’ll just move along home.
