When even your own radio station is making fun of your show, it’s time to call it a tardy box.
Also, blaming the fanbase for your inadequacies is a recipe for failure.
Videos produced by other people and posted on the blog because I feel that they’re worth watching. A volatile category due to videos sometimes going offline for various external reasons.

The newest trailer for the third season of Strange New Worlds hit and… yeah, most of it looks promising… until the thing with Patton Oswald shows up at the end. So close… and yet, so very far away.
More thoughts after the break, but long story short, my optimism is purely cautious at the moment.
The first teaser for the upcoming Doctor Who spin-off miniseries, which features UNIT and friends going up against the Sea Devils and possibly the Silurians. Naturally, going by the somewhat darker tone, there have been comparisons to ancient Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood, which lasted a couple series and one mini.
I don’t know. There’s not enough here for me to be interested in giving this a watch. That, along with the last two series of Doctor Who proper having soured me on this current regime, gives me no expectations in this turning out to be anything less than average fare… actually, no. I take it back; average fare in this regime’s case would be a best case scenario. I expect this to be really bad… but who knows? Maybe this will be a surprise.
I leave it to you folks to see the show for yourself. Chances are you’ll get more out of this than I would.
Finally, Steam players who struggled to get the ancient Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection compilation to work on modern hardware can retire that shit because here comes Digital Eclipse to give us a bunch of vintage Mortal Kombat arcade games and their various ports… I don’t see any DOS ports, which are the only worthwhile ports… and where’s Mortal Kombat Trilogy? And Special Forces? You assholes had no problem bringing back Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties, but… eh, I really don’t care.
Still, looking forward to this one. Digital Eclipse have done banger jobs with these comps, so I expect… more of the same.
So Braun Strowman was recently released by WWE and no doubt is currently waiting his 90-day no-compete period. However, he will be featured in a new program on USA Network this fall, in which he ventures across America and consume copious amounts of food.
I’m not sure how much culinary experience Braun Strowman actually possesses. The most I got was this Bon Appetit video where he’s making a lobster roll and he’s competent enough to cook that, at least. So him having a show about eating food at different restaurants… hey, look, good on him. He’s got a good gig. I’d wish him success on this venture and hopefully, it turns into a nice side hustle for him… but they just recently released him and now I’m wondering if maybe this isn’t better off as a tax write-off… unless you plan on giving the guy a nostalgia deal or something.
Anyway, it airs on USA this fall. Probably not airing around my neck of the woods, but if it did… maybe I’d give it a shot if it popped up on my TV… anyway, all the best to Braun Strowman in whatever he does going forward.
And it only took us TWO DECADES!
Also… good dog.
Looking forward to this one.
The teaser for the upcoming Naked Gun movie… starring Liam Neeson.
I’ve been dreading this somewhat, but after watching this, I can safely say that I’m cautiously optimistic. Rather than a full blown remake, everyone is just playing their kids. I’m still on the fence on this, but I’m not exactly dreading this, either.
Hard to imagine that it’s been twenty years since Doctor Who made a return to television. A far different take on what had come before, but still very much part of that long-lasting lore. I adored Christopher Eccleston’s take on the Doctor, I thought Billie Piper’s Rose Tyler was a perfect companion for this new, brooding Doctor fellow. I liked that stories were resolved in one or two episodes rather than four or five like in the old show. I liked that the video quality was actually consistent as opposed to the old show where the outside scenes looked grainer than the inside scenes.
This was my entry point into this now six-decade plus old franchise that had, up to that point, largely eluded me. I knew of Doctor Who, I heard of it, but my exposure to the franchise had been fairly minimal. Even now, I’m still playing catch up with the older stuff while ignoring the newer stuff due to its current choice of streaming home. Whatever happens, here’s to another six decades of zany Doctors and stuff.

For anyone who still watches the show, the next season/series/whatever of Doctor Who will begin on April 12th, despite rumors that the series was set to air later this year. Included in this post is the recently released trailer, so you can decide for yourself if it’s something to look forward to.
If there is a physical release of the previous season that I can pick up for dirt cheap, I’ll probably go for that in an effort to catch up. As it is right now, I have no desire to sign up to Disney+ because I have no interest in subscribing to more than one streaming service at a time. Right now, I’m sticking with Netflix because of the WWE deal and that might last up until Wrestlemania comes and goes. After that, though… we’ll see… but it won’t be Disney+ or anything like that.

Yeah, we’re not being subtle here…
And no, we’re not talking about the last Bond film starring Daniel Craig…
Nor are we talking about some fanfiction that somehow got published and turned into a novel.
We’re talking about the latest and perhaps most permanent of death of James Bond… one that will stick for good.
By now, most of you folks are aware of the news that Amazon MGM has taken over complete creative control from the Brocollis, who have been custodians of the Bond film brand since its inception. This leaves the door open for Amazon to cast a new 007 film and run every bad idea through their checklist in an effort to fast-track a potential cinematic universe or content factory. You folks rolling your eyes over that One In A Million game show hosted by Remington Steel? Wait until you get that Moneypenny spin-off, or thar Q spin-off, or that ten other spin-offs that will all blend together and be completely forgettable.
The James Bond film series has had its ups and downs. There was some great films and there were some bad ones as well… but I’d never consider any one of them to be truly horrific films. Yes, even Die Another Day has its rare moments that makes up for the rubbish. Most of all, whenever there was a new James Bond film on the horizon, it felt like a big deal. It’s the same feeling that I once had for whenever there was a new Star Wars or Star Trek film. It was an event that was going to be hyped up and get us all excited.
Those days look to be long gone.
I have no faith in Amazon when it comes to steering this 007 ship in the right direction. I’ve seen their takes on other properties and my feelings on those can be best summed up as “the less said, the better.” I want to believe that James Bond wouldn’t be another one to toss into that category… but given who has creative control over the property, my hopes are so low, they’re practically non-existent. Isn’t it bad enough that we’re rewriting the Fleming novels to be more suitable for modern tastes? Can’t we just leave what was well enough alone?
Rest in peace, Mr. Bond. You’ve had a good running, but your time has come and gone.
