From Kurt Angle’s Twitter…
“I Whipped Robbie E in 40 Seconds. I’m The Best In Wrestling today. Not Orton or Cena or CM Punk. I Am the Best. And I’m TNA! I’m the Best Ever.”
So this guy claims to be the best ever because he beat Robbie E in 40 seconds. A shit stain could beat Robbie E in 40 seconds. Come on, Kurt. You can do better than that.
Besides, I’m sure Daniel Bryan Danielson can beat Robbie E in 20 seconds. He could sick AJ Lee after him even.
You know, I noticed something strange on RAW when I was watching Sid’s return (seen below if nobody took down the video). Sid looks noticeably… smaller than last we saw him. And watching his WWE.com interview, Sid sounded noticeably… coherent. What happened to Sid that made him sane?
Maybe Goldberg should crush another car… just in case.
They produced an episode of Impact Wrestling that was actually entertaining, with good storylines, good wrestling, and actually piqued my interest for next week’s show. Not only that, but it was a substantially better show than RAW was… not say much considering RAW was one of those putrid three-hour shows… but still, this is a stark improvement over the past year’s rubbish and if they keep putting out programming like this, I might be more inclined to follow them and give it a go.
(2020 Update: A pity that the show was so good, I couldn’t be bothered to provide any details on why it was a good show. I may have consumed something that altered my thought patterns, but then again, stranger things have happened.)
While TNA is holding their Slammiversary PPV, it should be noted that TNA’s first PPV (the weekly variety) took place June 19, 2002. So rather than watch what should be an interesting show (if only because it’s going to feature reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion Christian Cage), I think I’ll check if I still have that first show laying around… maybe do a quick musings out of it.

At the moment, it looks unfinished and could very well be more like a side plate than anything… but whatever the case, anything has to look better than the Spinner belt. By default.
If the image is a preview of the main plate… I don’t think it looks bad for a belt buckle, but as a top championship title belt, it looks pretty plain and not much else. But then again, it’s not exactly final and given what we were stuck with for the past few years, plain and not much else is a nice change of pace.
We’ll see in the long run, no?

A frivolous lawsuit from TNA aimed at WWE? Oh boy! I wonder if Uncle Eric had a hand in that!
The first of many, I suppose… but whatever.
(2024 Update: Funny how 12 years after this frivolous lawsuit that went nowhere and was completely forgotten about, TNA would have some semblance of a working relationship with WWE. “Only in wrestling” as some would say.)
According to TNA, as of last night, reigning champion Bobby Roode is currently the longest-reigning TNA World Champion in the company’s history after his taped title defense against AJ Styles in what was a phenomenal match-up… of course, since the show was taped, it goes without saying that it would be a shoe-in for Roode’s reign being the longest.
I was able to nab a few moments of Impact last night, but I have to admit that the show was a hell of a lot better than the last time I saw it… and that was ages ago, seemingly. Even with Hulk Hogan’s mugging, Garret Bischoff’s suckage, and the re-debut of Sting to the surprise of fuck all, I thought it was a pretty solid showing of Impact Wrestling. Perhaps it’s due to the Open Fight Night thing they had going on last night and I do hope they stick with that for a good while, because the concept is sound and it has potential.
By far, TNA has managed a much better product than RAW did this week and had enough of a showing to live up to its “Wrestling Matters” tagline. If anything, this makes me hopeful that the live showings will turn out well.
Nice work, Dixie. You win this round… this time.
Woke up this morning and found this “gem” from WWE.com posted through third-parties.
Chris Jericho as been suspended indefinitely due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24. WWE has apologized to the citizens and the government of Brazil for this incident.
For those who are unaware, Chris Jericho apparently kicked a Brazilian flag during a match with CM Punk and thus was forced to apologize for the incident or risk going to jail… because apparently flag kicking is a crime in Brazil. You would think that Chris Jericho or even WWE would know about stuff like this before venturing into new territory. Oh well, at least Jericho got to keep his job. Committing a national crime is apparently still a lesser violation that choking a ring announcer with a tie or spitting on the franchise player.
So Bradshaw does a mock Nazi salute and goosestep… he gets a WWE Title run…
Jericho kicks a flag… he gets a suspension…
Yeah, that sounds fair.
