Finally Made The Jump To Windows 10

So I left the computer on overnight so that it can make the long awaited jump from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10… free of charge, which is so unlike Microsoft to make people NOT pay money for a significant boost. Though I’ve obviously not used it much thus far – I only woke up roughly 30 minutes ago – it already feels faster than the previous version. Also, all of my apps (that I’ve tested thus far and seem relevant to my causes) seem to be in proper working order, which means the checker on the pre-install thing wasn’t lying when it didn’t find any incompatibilities.

Of course, there’s always the possibility of something potentially fucking up as things progress – it is an early and free release, after all – but so far, Windows 10 has left a favorable first impression.

From 1996, one of many commercials for McDonald’s failed Arch Deluxe burger, which was often advertised as the “burger with the grown-up taste.” Honestly, out of all the commercials they had for this things (including one where kids made funny, grossed-out faces for a product that wasn’t announced), this was one of my favorites and perhaps the most telling. Showing kids grossed out by this new product is perhaps not the best way to promote it.

And then they wondered why it failed… which is a shame because, even some eighteen years later, I can recall having one of these things and actually enjoyed it. After all, the taste is only grown up, not grown old.

As a bonus, here’s a breakdown of the burger that I had laying on the hard drive for some reason.

A twit from Jason Douchebag Frank regarding the Rick Medina thing (see earlier post);

Someone has died… for real… not fantasy, not tv… someone has lost their life… and all you can think about is the franchise… what a classless act from a grade-a douchbag.

And then, in a pitiful attempt at damage control, you post the following on your Facebook;

ATTN: To all the people who are saying ” Bad for the Brand” has NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY!!! I said bad for the brand meaning KIDS….. One ranger Falls we all do.. Ive worked to hard to be a ranger and be a Positive role model!! Its NOT bout me it about being a super Hero.. Im sorry Self defense?? If I had to protect myself it would of been a fist NOT a sword.. Unless the guy had a Gun or a weapon.. I can’t say what happen but I will say this… GROW up and get off my page… Just not gonna sit back and waste my time with Keyboard warriors!!!

If this is not about you, then why are you MAKING IT ABOUT YOU, YOU WORTHLESS SACK OF SHIT? There are other Ranger actors who have chimed in – either taking either a neutral stance or showing their support – but never making it about them? Because it isn’t about THEM. It isn’t about the BRAND. And it sure as hell isn’t about YOU.

Grow up? You’re telling the mature folks out there to grow up? You? You, who like to issue worthless challenges to people who wouldn’t give two shits about your overblown and overexaggerated Z-grade cult status? You, who once had a role in a MTV program about college kids having sex in their dorm room… and that was before you got brought back for Dino Thunder. You want to talk about being a role model? If that’s your idea of a role model, then Skylar Deleon was a former Power Ranger.

Unlike the mindless braindead followers that shower you with endless praise on your equally worthless Facebook page and elsewhere, I’m not drinking the JDF Kool-Aid. I can separate the man from the character he used to play; something you seem to have great difficulty in doing. Your attitudes and your words bring shame to the franchise you claim to represent. You are a cancer to that brand. I believed this last year… maybe a little further than that… but after this, whatever sliver of respect that I might have had for what you’ve done in the franchise – and believe me, that much is a stretch – you’ve pretty much killed that.

You are not a role model, Mr. Frank. You, sir, are a douchebag and an outright fraud.

Pathetic.

On A Somewhat Happier Note…

Montreal will only be getting 2 to 4 centimeters of snow, thus avoiding the brunt of Winter Storm Juno that will hit the American Northeast. It’s a happier note to me because it means no need to pull out the shovel… and also a little snow might pad out the parking lot full of ice.

Folks, be mindful of your surroundings and watch your step. Drive carefully, avoid taking unnecessary risks, and just be careful. It’s either to make light of Americans taking precautions of snow, but even us Northern folks have a tendency to act like crack addicts whenever a snowstorm hits.

Target Pulling Out Of Canada, Closing All Its Canadian Stores

Well, that didn’t last long. I’m contemplating doing a vlog on this to perhaps further discussion, but I doubt that I could add much to it. I’ll say this much for sure; clearing off the shelves shouldn’t be much of a problem since they were barely filled to begin with.

I suppose the lesson of the day should be; if you’re going to buy out a long-tenured Canadian discount store chain and replace it with your own, you’d better be able to deliver the same kind of quality service and products or else you will fail.

A shame.

Because People Bug Me Over This…

I’m rooting for the Germans to win the World Cup, if only because I want to see if he of the celery will ended up producing a song for his Argentinian team… but honestly, Germany has been pretty strong throughout, especially with the pasting that they gave Brazil a couple days ago. So if they end up winning, it’ll be no surprise.

There. I’ve said my piece. Let me know when all of you are ready to jump off the bandwagon and let the core fans enjoy their sport.

Note To Ralphie

Explain to me how a team manages to lose a 4-1 lead in the second period. Explain that to me. Good thing they managed another comeback, but for fuck’s sake, how do you lose wind of that far off a lead? And while we’re on the subject, where’s my coffee?

Random Thoughts On… That Morphin Life Thing

You know, for a show about morphin, there sure isn’t a lot of it.

For some reason, I felt “compelled” (or rather, had nothing better to do) to check out JDF’s YouTube series that has him skydiving, doing the con thing, and the drama over his wife’s Muay Thai adventure… and I’m just “meh.” I suppose it’s nice to know there’s a tender side to JDF when he isn’t being a public douchebag and a cancer to Power Rangers and I suppose the show is good enough to appease both his supporters and the drones drinking the JDF Kool-Aid, but I got bored with this one pretty quickly. Nothing interesting, nothing worthwhile, nothing that can’t get out of some other reality-based documentary series with more appealing subject matter.

JDF fans might take a liking to it, but I’m gotta give the thumbs down on this one.
