Vintage 2013 Photos Of Target Store In Montreal

These were taken in late-2013 shortly before the opening of the Target store in Les Galeries D’Anjou shopping center. I can remember there being a bit of excitement over the big American chain making their mark here and serving up service that would’ve been comparable to what the old retain chain Zellers would’ve offered.

A year later, the brand would limp out of Canada as an unmitigated failure and fall into bankruptcy. When you get in the stores, it’s hard to see why. Always a lack of stock, always higher prices than usual, and always a lack of reason to go there. I’ve never been to a Target store in the US, but I have to think they were offering more there than they did here.

And then they wonder why they’re going bankrupt.

Jackass Nerd Wallpaper

For those interested, the “Jackass Nerd” wallpaper from the TMNT review. The image was done up in Vegas, which explains the blatant cut-and-paste nature of Nerd’s face. The sides of the image was flipped to cover the black bars of the original shot. If I spent more time on it, I would’ve added a mound of bullshit underneath, but then that would be pushing it. People sometimes take this shit a little too seriously after all.
