EGOTISM – The Old Credo

2020 Update: The Old Credo was posted a couple years on the DTM Webstation as an “unknown” page. To this day, nobody knows what the point of the Credo was… in fact, nobody even knew it was a credo. It was originally titled “DTM666 Wisdom” despite the fact that no wisdom was found therein. In any case, here’s the Old Credo as it was originally written in 2003. If your head isn’t spinning by the end, be sure to check out the New Credo.

PPV Predictions – WWE Bad Blood 2003

Fun Fact: This show is sometimes called WWE Bad Bl**d in regards to merchandising. The original 1997 event was called Badd Blood and also featured the first ever Hell In A Cell match between Shawn Michaels and Undertaker. So it seemed almost appropriate that this new Bad Blood PPV – the first PPV to exclusively feature RAW talent – would host a Hell In A Cell main event for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Unfortunately, the match featured Triple H defending the title against Kevin Nash… with Mick Foley as the referee for some reason. It’s been a while, folks. I don’t recall this as much as I would have liked… or as little as I would care to. For this reason more than anything, any reflective thoughts featured here will be brief.

PPV Predictions – WWE No Way Out 2003

Posting old PPV Picks for the 2003 No Way Out PPV that took place in Montreal, where we got Rock-Hogan II. Funny how that works; Icon Vs. Icon had two big-time main events and they took place in Canada rather than America… given that Bret vs. Vince would take place in Arizona some years later, I think we got gipped in the long run… Oh well.

No More Wrestling Rants

“When’s the next Wrestling Rant, Dave?”

There is none.

If you want to read my thoughts on wrestling, just read the Bite. I don’t have the energy to keep up with two features at once, especially if the other feature is talking about this awful wrestling that’s on TV.

That McSon-In-Law versus Steiner match nearly broke me.

That was so bad.

I’m amazed how much damage a single Panda did to the direction of this company… but then again, whether they got the F out or not wouldn’t have made much of a difference because they were headed for shit, either.

I’d go for TNA… but do I really wanna pay ten bucks a week for more Vince Russo on my TV?

I’ll bare the WWE product because it’s better than the other one… but not by much.

Dave’s Wrestling Rant #4 – Dec. 16, 2002

(2020 Update: This was the last edition of Dave’s Wrestling Rant, as I ended up talking about wrestling stuff in the Bite commentaries.)

Another rant from me… DAVE! If you enjoyed my brief TV reviews, thanks. Sorry I couldn’t put up the same thing last week, but I only watched RAW last week and figured it was not worth an entire rant, so I’ll leave last week’s comments here first…

Note: The whole commentary was written on Friday, but was never posted. Therefore, some items will be outdated. Just a head’s up.

PPV Predictions – WWE Armageddon 2002

For some reason, the original HTML file was labelled Survivor Series. I don’t recall if I ever did a Survivor Series picks, but this ain’t it. Therefore, it’s Armageddon 2002. In any case, I don’t remember this show aside from the World Title match between HBK and HHH, which I recall hating at the time, but somehow eased up on it at a later viewing. Don’t expect modern reflections for every match because I ain’t got any.

Dave’s Wrestling Rant #2 – Nov. 24, 2002

Welcome to the second edition of Dave’s Wrestling Rant.

RAW 11-18-2002
The good news is that the show was actually watchable and featured some good matches to say the least and skits that didn’t bore the living crap out of me. The 11-25-2002 show will feature a match between RVD and HBK… but of course, something tells me that it won’t happen.

SMACKDOWN 11-21-2002
Another quality show from the Smackdown show, including a nice scene with Brock Lesnar throwing Matt Hardy through a table…

NWA-TNA PPV 11-20-2002
Vince Russo is Mr. Wrestling III? Some people were quite shocked by this and I don’t understand why. Because he’s a booker and not a wrestler? Because of the fallout rumors on the Internet? Who cares, as long as the shock booking worked… then again, maybe people are shocked that Russo has a job after he helped kill WCW.

Oh yeah, Jeff Jarrett is YOUR new NWA World champion… and that’s not much of a shock, man. Still, very good show.

That’s all I can think of. The rant will probably be updated every Sunday night or so.

Dave’s Wrestling Rant #1 – Nov. 11, 2002

Welcome to the first edition of Dave’s Wrestling Rant.

RAW 11-4-2002
The good news is that the necrophilia angle has been ditched. Vince McMahon has finally realized that these stupid angles are stripping RAW of the viewership and fan base it is desperately trying to keep. Admittingly, it was a slight improvement over the week before, but it was still too boring and uninteresting. Tonight’s RAW has two matches that have potential: Triple H vs. Booker T and RVD/Kane vs. Christian/Chris Jericho for the tag straps.

SMACKDOWN 11-7-2002
The tag-team match between Rey Misterio/Edge and Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit was the whole F’n show! It more than made up for the stupid proposal angle earlier during the show (the less said the better.) Compared to this, Billy & Chuck’s gay wedding angle seemed like a good thing.

NWA-TNA PPV 11-6-2002
I didn’t catch the show, but I plan on catching the next one. From what I heard, this product is getting a little better.

WWE Confidential 11-9-2002
I didn’t get to see Confidential, but from what I read from 411wrestling.com, I didn’t miss much. I also discovered that the proposed Scott Steiner interview that was supposed to happen didn’t happen. Man, what a crock. I was one of the few people who was actually anxious to watch this show and see what it had to offer.

WWE Heat & Velocity
Who gives a rat’s ass about Heat & Velocity?
That’s all I can think of. The rant will probably be updated every Friday or so.

PPV Predictions – WWE No Mercy 2002

2012 Update: One of the problems with these old PPV predictions, especially the 2002-2003 ones, is the lack of a consistent format. So I’m left having to redo all the formatting so that it somewhat matches up with the current stock.

This is going to be posted as is with little input from me today. Quite frankly, I barely recall the show and I don’t have a copy available to watch. Frankly, if I had, I’d probably redo this whole form from scratch… but since I don’t, you get to enjoy this horrible text. So other than minor format tweaks and minor edits, this is all from 2002. Enjoy.
