Taking A Week Off

Hey, folks. Just let you all know that I’m going to be taking the next week off of life and that means no videos during that time. It wouldn’t be a silent week as I’ve prepped several written posts that will be up during the week, including another PPV Musings and a fun little story that I’ve whipped up on a whim.

Today’s scheduled Power Blade 2 review will be pushed back to next Friday and the week after, all the TMNT-related reviews planned for the month will dumped out the week after a five-day marathon of sorts. And then hopefully after that, we’ll end July and kickstart August with the PC Engine Star Soldier games that have been lingering on the bucket list since the dawn of time. I’ll get around to updating the list on the State Of The Blog page when I have a good idea on where things are going video-wise, but that’ll be the plan for the moment.

This is time I needed to take for a while and although I’m not thrilled at dropping the video aspect of things for the time being, at the very least, the blog will see regular updates here and there. Trust me; this’ll be a good thing in the long run.

And yes… I still miss the old girl.

No Videos This Week – Next Week We Do Mega Man

Hello, folks.

Earlier today, I made a quick post regarding a postpone of today’s scheduled video upload to tomorrow due to an emergency at home. I won’t go into heavy detail here – I plan on doing a video update to inform the Tube crowd, but to make a long story short, I’ll have to postpone any video uploads until next week. For the record, no one is hurt. Everyone is fine. It’s just that I might be indisposed for a couple days and the next scheduled batch of videos – covering the Star Soldier games on PC Engine – need some final tweaks that I’m not going to have time to make. So sadly, the streak of uninterrupted video uploads continues to not surpass a month.

With that in mind, the last week of June is supposed to revisit the Mega Man games on Game Boy – with their being made available on NSO earlier this month – and that’s going to be the case, still. So next week, we’ll do the GB Mega Man games and then the week after will hopefully see those Star Soldier reviews up and running… at which point, please enjoy July’s worth of low-definition 480p reviews for the world to enjoy.

In the meantime, there’s some fun text stuff that I pulled up for your  reading pleasure. Stuff scheduled for later down the road, but considering the circumstances… no better time like the present. And this weekend will see another Sunday Gimmick Table uploaded, since that one’s been in the can for months.

Sorry about this, folks. Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon… whatever that actually may entail.

Later.

Quick Reshuffles And A Brief Break

So videos are once again going to be reshuffled this week.

Unfortunately, a family emergency came up (all is well, thankfully) and needed some attention. Not only that, but I had specific games intended for review that ended up… not working out, so I needed to come up with something else. Therefore, expect a video or two this weekend. And then there’ll be a brief pause of uploads until April 5th so I can catch up on some stuff. Though if I can bang out a couple quick Sacha home movies in the interim, I’ll probably get that out there. (I need to do more of these anyway.)

There’s actually more in the works than I’m letting and I might leak a few of those ideas on this weekend’s DTM-Cast – which is the Q&A episode – but needless to say that I’m working on more than getting some current content onto this space.

Things are a bit of a mess around here – try and act surprised – but hopefully, things will be up and about soon.

Going Forward… And Failing Miserably

First off, I want to say thank you for all the kind words on Tuesday’s post on the Youtube channel’s community post as well as some of the e-mail messages that I’ve received. They’re all greatly appreciated and for what it’s worth, I’ve read each and every one of them to Sacha before she had gone. Poor thing could barely see, but she heard every word said. And she went out knowing that people cared about her. Not just the immediate family and friends, but complete strangers who only knew her from the first five seconds that open almost every video I’ve posted in the past decade or so.
Every day is a struggle for the rest of us. Every day that passes without her is a burden… but knowing she’s in a better place – probably pissing on the pearly gates or humping a couple clouds along the way – brings a slight smile on my face… before it dissolves into tears once more. Every passing thought of the times we shared together brightens my day… before every passing moment under the realization that those days are long gone… and so is she.
I miss her very much… in ways that can never be properly put to words.
So what happens now? Well, obviously, I’m going to be laying low for a little bit… I’m not exactly in the mood to be doing much of anything at the moment. I have been gathering up whatever videos and photos that I’ve collected on Sacha over the years and am planning on putting together a little tribute video of sorts to celebrate her life. Folks who frequent this blog or the Youtube channel know her as sort of a mascot for my little corner of the web and she will continue to have a presence around these parts. But I want to share with folks the kind of friend that Sacha truly is and what she really means to those who loved and cared for her.
Sacha might have gone elsewhere, but she will always be around.

The Current Situation

A bit of a quick update and some full disclosure regarding reviews…

June 19th will see one review uploaded. The rest of the reviews between now and August is up in the air… but there’s a technical reason behind this.

So my old Omen that I bought back in 2017 recently decided that it was going to blow the fans really loud. The system still works, I can still play stuff on it, but it’s so loud that I can’t dub and quite frankly, having that thing blow for hours on end is a bit of a headache. I’m looking into getting the thing fixed; if it’s something like replacing the case fan or something minor, it’d be no problem. But if it’s a CPU thing, then I’ll need to take this to a shop and have it checked out by somebody who knows what the fuck they’re doing.

Naturally, this is going to impede my ability to make videos. At the moment, only one video is available for upload this Monday, but the rest are either still in various states of development or non-existent. So the scheduling is going to be slightly out of wack. Fortunately, things isn’t a total lost cause because I recently bought a mini-PC gaming that is supposedly designed with gaming in mind. It runs well enough that I can capture some decent footage with OBS and I have enough portable DVD readers to hook up and rip footage. So I can get some stuff going on.

It’s not the ideal set-up and for all intents and purposes, I do want to get my old tower up and running because it is a nice machine and I’d hate to see it go to waste. But for now, this is where we’re at with technology and stuff.

Will keep you all updated down the road.

Later.

Reshuffling Due To Family Issues

First off, I want to apologize for the lack of scheduled videos this week. Unfortunately, I’ve had my plate full as of late, dealing with some family issues that I don’t want to get into other than it relates to health concerns regarding a member of the family. As a result, I haven’t been in the right mindset to do dubs or edit any video stuff this week and a lot of the text blurbs that were posted recently were written a while ago with the intent to be published later down the road.

For what it’s worth, I recently sat down and finished the final touches on the Indy review and assuming nothing else pops up, I’m hoping to have the video up tomorrow. Above all else, the goal is to try and put together a bunch of smaller reviews so that I can clear the video plate to work on the last stretch of reviews before the big quadruple digits. This is the plan, though it is subject to change should the situation change.

Again, I’m sorry for the lack of video content, but things on the family front as well as my own sanity needs attention at the moment. Hopefully, things will return to some semblance of normalcy around these parts, but I’m expecting the worse. If anything else comes up, I will let you folks know.

Cody Pulled A Luger (Wallpaper And House Show Announcement)

So we’re gonna do a thing in a couple weeks. I don’t know what we’re gonna do, but we’re gonna do it. Have an AI Paint generated wallpaper to get you excited for the big day and then bitch about how that guy looks nothing like Cody, but he has the neck tattoo so it’s gotta be him!

I have not watched one bit of wrestling since Wrestlemania. Nor have I followed the news. The moratorium continues…

Reviews Resuming This Friday

For anyone wondering, I’ve been out of action recently and this is the first time that I actually got to sit on my proper PC where I usually do all this stuff. If all goes well, reviews should resume this coming Friday and follow a Monday-Wednesday-Friday upload cycle until the end of the year at least, with one or two weeks dedicated to “special five-day” deals.
Also, yes, this exact post was posted last week, but everything was pushed back a week due to some stuff. Sorry.
The reviews in question:
#897 – Metagal (Switch) – Sept. 2nd
#898 – Classic NES Series: Metroid (GBA) – Sept. 5th
#899 – Metroid: Other M (Wii) – Sept. 7th
#900 – Metroid Dread (Switch) – Sept. 9th
I might post up a special “House Show” deal sometime prior to make up for lost time.
Gotta run. Later.

Feeling Better… Let's Have A "Feeling Better Week" Week

So I’m feeling a bit better and am ready to get back into the swing of things. As such, next week is the “Feeling Better Week” Week. Monday to Friday will see two posts; one being a written post that’ll be published 12:30 A.M. and a video review will soon publish at 12:30 P.M. This will give you five written posts and five video reviews that week. Next Saturday (June 30th) will feature a new Wily Challenge video for the Archive Channel and the following Sunday (July 31st) will feature a new Sunday Gimmick Table featuring a long overdue product for the masses.

That’s the plan. It’s going well. We’ll see afterwards.

No Review Today, Pausing On Dynamites

I’m currently in the dumps… as in I’m writing this blog post on my laptop while in the john and it’s been tremendous fun waiting for the drizzle to stop. It’s that time of year where I’m currently having to put up with some timely bowel pains. Nothing that a few choice medicines can’t fix, but it has taken a toll on the fun stuff that I usually post on this here blog. So today’s regularly scheduled review has been pushed back to Monday and we’ll just continue from there.

As far as Dynamite musings are concerned… yeah, I’m going to pause on those. To be honest with you, I missed the last episode this week, only managing to catch Wardlow’s TNT title win as well as the Christian Cage/Matt Hardy interactions. From all accounts, it was a nothing happening episode of Dynamite with some good wrestling, but nothing important happened. They’re apparently building towards the next ROH PPV, which probably means a bunch of stuff to try and convince people to buy this show. I’m wondering if this is AEW’s way of getting more PPVs on the cycle without actually booking more AEW PPVs on the cycle.
Personally, I’m not all that interested in ROH and quite frankly, if that’s where the focus is going to be, then I might as well give the show a rest for a little while. The fact is that I want to watch AEW for the AEW stuff. The stuff with New Japan and ROH does nothing for me. I don’t care if those shows are going to have good wrestling. I can get good wrestling anyway. It’s not something that’s in short supply at the moment.
When AEW is ready to start building towards their All Out PPV and when we’re done having Mox defend the Interim “I’m Just Keeping The Belt Warm Until Punk Comes Back” title against midcard guys, then I’ll jump back on board, but until then, I’m giving this show a rest. I’ll follow second-hand reports, but that’s about as far as I’ll go. I’ve got stuff to do in the coming weeks and I’d rather focus on stuff that I can get into. Don’t worry about me as far as the wrestling goes; I’ve got that covered.
