Three Grand…

Apparently, unless there’s been a significant drop out as of late, the channel finally broke the 3,000 subscriber mark. That means 3,000 people subscribed to this channel and promptly forgot about it. I know the feeling; there’s a bunch of channels that I subbed to and forgot about. And then when they put up a video and it appears on my feed, my first reaction is not “new video” but rather “who the fuck is this?”

So if you’re one of those people, thanks.

But if you’re one of those people who subscribed to the channel and actually watch (and even – god forbid – enjoy) this low-rent video stuff that I do… thanks to you as well.

I should plan something special for the occasion… but I’m probably just going to go to bed.

In other actual news, reviews will be resuming tomorrow. A make-up stream is being planned, but I’m not so sure on a set date yet. Will give you a heads-up in the community posts or teaser video.

Last Content Of 2024 And A Brief Break Afterwards

Hello there.

I put Joe Hendry on top because I still believe in Joe Hendry and this is not a meme that will die out in 2024. We wish him luck in his latest attempt to overcome bad TNA booking and get the TNA gold that he should have gotten this past October. Think of the pop you’ll get at the Rumble when he shows up… if he shows up.

As we near the end of 2024 this week and hope that 2025 will be even better than before – we’re not off to a great start, sadly – the thought occurred to do one final update post before the year is up. Although there’s not much left to look forward to this year. New review is going up tomorrow, final episode of the DTM-Cast will go up on Tuesday, and we open up the new year with the written version of The Winners And Losers of 2024, which will also be featured in the aforementioned final episode, with additional commentary to boot.

The reviews will be taking a backseat for a week or so. PPV Musings will be on hiatus for a time until the end of January. It won’t be complete radio silence, however. There is a live stream coming up if I’m well enough after New Year’s Day festivities, there’s a video that I was hoping to get done that’s being pushed back a week (and you’ll see why the timing for this thing is borked), and there might be another thing or two popping up along the way.

So… yeah… ending the year on a whimper rather than a bang… but hey, at least we’ve got Krypto.

That’s a cute-looking Super-Pup.

Maya would be all over this guy.

Another Delay Due To Cold… Also Fully A Bore

Struck with a cold and haven’t gotten much done, so video has been delayed yet again. I swear this next review is cursed for many reasons and I blame Ernie Hudson’s kids.

In other news, the new Joker is out and people don’t like it. It apparently bombed at the box office and garnering rather negative reactions. I actually liked Joker for what it was and felt that it didn’t need a sequel. So when they announced a sequel, I was like… “why?”

But then word gets out that it’s not only a sequel nobody wanted, but it’s also going to be a musical. Well, that’s already two strikes against this thing in my book because I don’t care for musicals. Not my thing. So right there, whatever minor bits of curiosity may have lingered beforehand is all but extinguished and I’ve resolved not to see this film. Don’t care if it’s the greatest thing ever. I don’t care for musicals and a musical Joker… well, that makes no sense to me.

And then the reviews come in… apparently, people hated the movie because it does everything within its power to undo everything that was done in the first movie. Whatever you liked about the first movie… well, they did the opposite here. There’s a narrative they want you to follow that is contradicted by the existence of that first movie, which said everything that needed to be said and this exists for no reason other than… something or other?

That’s about it for me. I’m going to bed.

Quick Youtube Note

I posted this on the YouTube page, but I figured that it bares mentioning here.

New review will be published later today. Next week will see a pause in the review output before the eventual October marathon that doesn’t actually start in October, but fuck it, that’s what we’re going with. The marathon is going to be a random selection of stuff with no real theme behind it, but you’ll get your 5-reviews -a-week offering. The back end of 2024 reviews for November and December are pretty much locked in place, so this is really the place where odds and ends are featured… though since this is October, after all, there will be some spooky stuff to be spookily featured or something.

In other, less exciting news, the secondary “DTM Archives” channel has been renamed into the less-pretentious-but-equally-nondescript “DTM’s Extra Bits.” While I made a somewhat lighthearted jab on the channel just being a place where I dump a bunch of Mega Man Maker stuff on there these days, I do want to try and add some other stuff that maybe wouldn’t fit the main channel… which is funny because when I first conceived the Youtube thing in the first place, the idea was to have EVERYTHING on there. Now the extra bits is for the extra bits that the “hardcores” can check out while the less than hardcores can watch the main stuff, decide they don’t like it, and go back to [INSERT POPULAR YOUTUBE TREND HERE].

Whatever comes of this… eh, it’ll be business as usual ’round these parts. But please… look forward to… something ’round these parts. It’ll be fun. Promise.

I Am Not Watching All In

For the three people wondering if I will be watching All In… the answer is no. Besides the fact that I’m just not feeling the build up to this point as well as not having any desire to watch a sequel show that isn’t as packed as last year’s show, I’m actually busy with some other stuff at the moment and won’t have time to give the show a proper watch.

Not sold on the replay, but I’ll tell you what… if they can somehow manage to get this man to appear on the show…

Then I will buy the replay and do the appropriate musings… hell, I’ll even buy All Out.

I think my wallet is safe in that regard. Don’t worry; we’ve got plenty of other fun stuff to do PPV Musings on next month.

As for the rest of you who don’t care for this otherwise insignificant piece of business… regular operations (such as it is) will resume in September.

Radio Silence…

I’ll be off for a couple weeks in terms of video content, which should resume on Labor Day weekend, coincidentally that’s when the next episode of the DTM-Cast will be up.

As far as regular postings go… PPV Musings will resume because those are in the can, but anything else that pops up… will actually pop up.

Enjoy the rest of summer… or something.

House Repair = Further Delay

Hey, kids. Hope all is well.

Here… eh, not so much.

Long story short… the home base is undergoing repair due to some water damage that occurred. Unfortunately, this affects my “base of operations” where I normally do all the video stuff. Good news is nothing has been lost save for some boxes and stuff, but there are drywalls needing to be replaced. So while I can do some blogging and record some video, when it comes to audio dubbing… yeah, that’s out of the question at the moment.

Needless to say, videos are going to be stalled for the foreseeable future. The only video close to being ready to go is Power Blade 2 and that still needs a bit of work before it’s ready to go. Fortunately, I’m going on a road trip this week where I should have a nice quiet place to set up shop for a couple days and do some quick audio. Who knows? We might make it into an adventure of sorts for the channel. Perhaps a audio program for the future?

Anyway, there’s other stuff coming up on the blog side of things, but the video stuff… we’ll see about getting that up to speed soon. It all depends on how repairs go around here.

Sorry about all this folks. I wish I had better news on this wonderful summer period. Hopefully, things will get better soon… maybe.

Taking A Week Off

Hey, folks. Just let you all know that I’m going to be taking the next week off of life and that means no videos during that time. It wouldn’t be a silent week as I’ve prepped several written posts that will be up during the week, including another PPV Musings and a fun little story that I’ve whipped up on a whim.

Today’s scheduled Power Blade 2 review will be pushed back to next Friday and the week after, all the TMNT-related reviews planned for the month will dumped out the week after a five-day marathon of sorts. And then hopefully after that, we’ll end July and kickstart August with the PC Engine Star Soldier games that have been lingering on the bucket list since the dawn of time. I’ll get around to updating the list on the State Of The Blog page when I have a good idea on where things are going video-wise, but that’ll be the plan for the moment.

This is time I needed to take for a while and although I’m not thrilled at dropping the video aspect of things for the time being, at the very least, the blog will see regular updates here and there. Trust me; this’ll be a good thing in the long run.

And yes… I still miss the old girl.

No Videos This Week – Next Week We Do Mega Man

Hello, folks.

Earlier today, I made a quick post regarding a postpone of today’s scheduled video upload to tomorrow due to an emergency at home. I won’t go into heavy detail here – I plan on doing a video update to inform the Tube crowd, but to make a long story short, I’ll have to postpone any video uploads until next week. For the record, no one is hurt. Everyone is fine. It’s just that I might be indisposed for a couple days and the next scheduled batch of videos – covering the Star Soldier games on PC Engine – need some final tweaks that I’m not going to have time to make. So sadly, the streak of uninterrupted video uploads continues to not surpass a month.

With that in mind, the last week of June is supposed to revisit the Mega Man games on Game Boy – with their being made available on NSO earlier this month – and that’s going to be the case, still. So next week, we’ll do the GB Mega Man games and then the week after will hopefully see those Star Soldier reviews up and running… at which point, please enjoy July’s worth of low-definition 480p reviews for the world to enjoy.

In the meantime, there’s some fun text stuff that I pulled up for your  reading pleasure. Stuff scheduled for later down the road, but considering the circumstances… no better time like the present. And this weekend will see another Sunday Gimmick Table uploaded, since that one’s been in the can for months.

Sorry about this, folks. Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon… whatever that actually may entail.
