Compressed Video Schedule

Hello… normally, there’d be a video upload being published here, but due to prior family commitments and other important real life stuff… I don’t have anything ready. So we’re pushing everything towards the end of the week starting Wednesday, continuing Thursday, and ending Friday. Business as usual should resume next week… whatever that actually entails.

In any event, enjoy your St. Paddy’s day however you usually enjoy it. I tend to enjoy it by doing what I usually do every day; I watch Ken Shamrock matches.

Change Of Plans And Also AEW’s Australian “Grand” Slam (Feb 15th, 2025)

(Yeah, I couldn’t fix up a proper banner for this show, so you’re stuck with the Bots banner.)

Quick change of plans regarding video reviews, which are somewhat lagging due to a variety of factors… not the least of which is that we got hit with a couple hefty snowstorms and I’ve spent most of my days clearing out nature’s own white stuff that people snort whenever they’re on the wheel. That, and I’m going to be busy with stuff… so we’re reducing things down to a 2-vids-a-week schedule (Tuesdays and Fridays) for the next c ouple weeks at most.

I also got a chance to sample the recent AEW Grand Slam show from Australia that took place this past weekend, thanks to a timely DVR recording that I wasn’t aware that I made, but it was there. Long story short; if you were an Aussie wrestler challenging for a championship and your name isn’t Toni Storm, you weren’t winning the match. That’s the case with both Buddy Matthews and Harley Cameron, hometown kids who challenged for titles and lost while the “real” star of the show, Timeless Toni, got both her win and her title back from Mariah May.

I’m somewhat dismayed by this show, which is the usual great wrestling hampered by poor booking or creative choices. You have a Mox/Cope title match and your big idea to push this thing is to have Mox choke Cope out during a six-man brawl. You have Harley Cameron, who is literally one of the most entertaining character on the shows in recent weeks and someone who put in the work to improve her stuff, catch on with the crowd who generally seem to like here… and you have her lose in a nothing match against the walking drywall that is Mercedes. I felt like that could’ve been a match where you pulled a swerve and give Harley the shock title win… you know, something to keep the crowd happy after all the rigmarole with the promotion and arena switches.

And then there’s Kenny Omega, who challenged that Takeshita guy for his International World All-Atlantic American Western States Heritage Championship belt at the PPV… but first, we need to have a tournament to crown a contender to challenge Takeshita for the title at some random TV taping before facing off against Kenny at the next PPV… why?

And so, once again, we’ve got an AEW show that’s high on the quality wrestling matches, but the booking leaves VERY MUCH to be desired. This isn’t exactly enticing me to fork over money for the next PPV and while I’m sure it’ll feature the usual fantastic wrestling, I feel compelled to re-iterate that we’re in a day and age where you can get great wrestling pretty much anywhere and everywhere these days. You need more – MUCH MORE – than great wrestling to stand out. And that’s where AEW is struggling right now.

Anywhoo, this week, TNA will hold a live edition of Impact at Full Sail, which is where NXT used to reside. The show will open with a concert played by that one fellow there…

Alright, who said his name? I want answers, dammit.

No New Videos This Week

Hey, folks. This is to let you know that there are no new videos this week.

Sadly, I’ve had a case of what’s been called the “food poisoning” and have been a bit nauseous, to say the least. I promise you it has nothing to do with those chocolate bars I ate for Sunday’s video; those went down fine save for the five dollars plus tax that I spent on them that could have went to coffee and a donut instead.

Sorry about the hiccup. Assuming I’m feeling up to it, I’ll see about tossing something up for Friday, but otherwise business as usual continues next week. In the meantime, please enjoy the random blog stuff that’ll pop up this week and hopefully fill the void.

Review Delay…

Just a heads-up that today’s scheduled review has been postponed to tomorrow. I’ve been a little under the weather lately and haven’t been able to put the finishing touches on the review. To give you an idea on what’s next, here’s a hint. It’s a fatal fighter on NSO that’s for good boys and girls of all ages.

Actually, thinking about it, the next two reviews will be pushed back by a day. So tomorrow and Thursday will see reviews rather than Monday and Wednesday. The Friday review should be up as scheduled. Fuck knows what happens next week.

Listen, I haven’t been feeling all that great and I’m not exactly in the best of moods, either. Will try to do better next time, but right now, I’m just not in the proper mindset. Thanks,2025.

Sorry, folks. Will do better next time.

Three Grand…

Apparently, unless there’s been a significant drop out as of late, the channel finally broke the 3,000 subscriber mark. That means 3,000 people subscribed to this channel and promptly forgot about it. I know the feeling; there’s a bunch of channels that I subbed to and forgot about. And then when they put up a video and it appears on my feed, my first reaction is not “new video” but rather “who the fuck is this?”

So if you’re one of those people, thanks.

But if you’re one of those people who subscribed to the channel and actually watch (and even – god forbid – enjoy) this low-rent video stuff that I do… thanks to you as well.

I should plan something special for the occasion… but I’m probably just going to go to bed.

In other actual news, reviews will be resuming tomorrow. A make-up stream is being planned, but I’m not so sure on a set date yet. Will give you a heads-up in the community posts or teaser video.

Last Content Of 2024 And A Brief Break Afterwards

Hello there.

I put Joe Hendry on top because I still believe in Joe Hendry and this is not a meme that will die out in 2024. We wish him luck in his latest attempt to overcome bad TNA booking and get the TNA gold that he should have gotten this past October. Think of the pop you’ll get at the Rumble when he shows up… if he shows up.

As we near the end of 2024 this week and hope that 2025 will be even better than before – we’re not off to a great start, sadly – the thought occurred to do one final update post before the year is up. Although there’s not much left to look forward to this year. New review is going up tomorrow, final episode of the DTM-Cast will go up on Tuesday, and we open up the new year with the written version of The Winners And Losers of 2024, which will also be featured in the aforementioned final episode, with additional commentary to boot.

The reviews will be taking a backseat for a week or so. PPV Musings will be on hiatus for a time until the end of January. It won’t be complete radio silence, however. There is a live stream coming up if I’m well enough after New Year’s Day festivities, there’s a video that I was hoping to get done that’s being pushed back a week (and you’ll see why the timing for this thing is borked), and there might be another thing or two popping up along the way.

So… yeah… ending the year on a whimper rather than a bang… but hey, at least we’ve got Krypto.

That’s a cute-looking Super-Pup.

Maya would be all over this guy.

Later.

Another Delay Due To Cold… Also Fully A Bore

Struck with a cold and haven’t gotten much done, so video has been delayed yet again. I swear this next review is cursed for many reasons and I blame Ernie Hudson’s kids.

In other news, the new Joker is out and people don’t like it. It apparently bombed at the box office and garnering rather negative reactions. I actually liked Joker for what it was and felt that it didn’t need a sequel. So when they announced a sequel, I was like… “why?”

But then word gets out that it’s not only a sequel nobody wanted, but it’s also going to be a musical. Well, that’s already two strikes against this thing in my book because I don’t care for musicals. Not my thing. So right there, whatever minor bits of curiosity may have lingered beforehand is all but extinguished and I’ve resolved not to see this film. Don’t care if it’s the greatest thing ever. I don’t care for musicals and a musical Joker… well, that makes no sense to me.

And then the reviews come in… apparently, people hated the movie because it does everything within its power to undo everything that was done in the first movie. Whatever you liked about the first movie… well, they did the opposite here. There’s a narrative they want you to follow that is contradicted by the existence of that first movie, which said everything that needed to be said and this exists for no reason other than… something or other?

That’s about it for me. I’m going to bed.

Quick Youtube Note

I posted this on the YouTube page, but I figured that it bares mentioning here.

New review will be published later today. Next week will see a pause in the review output before the eventual October marathon that doesn’t actually start in October, but fuck it, that’s what we’re going with. The marathon is going to be a random selection of stuff with no real theme behind it, but you’ll get your 5-reviews -a-week offering. The back end of 2024 reviews for November and December are pretty much locked in place, so this is really the place where odds and ends are featured… though since this is October, after all, there will be some spooky stuff to be spookily featured or something.

In other, less exciting news, the secondary “DTM Archives” channel has been renamed into the less-pretentious-but-equally-nondescript “DTM’s Extra Bits.” While I made a somewhat lighthearted jab on the channel just being a place where I dump a bunch of Mega Man Maker stuff on there these days, I do want to try and add some other stuff that maybe wouldn’t fit the main channel… which is funny because when I first conceived the Youtube thing in the first place, the idea was to have EVERYTHING on there. Now the extra bits is for the extra bits that the “hardcores” can check out while the less than hardcores can watch the main stuff, decide they don’t like it, and go back to [INSERT POPULAR YOUTUBE TREND HERE].

Whatever comes of this… eh, it’ll be business as usual ’round these parts. But please… look forward to… something ’round these parts. It’ll be fun. Promise.
