WCW Monday Nitro (Oct. 30th, 1995) – Post Mortem

It’s the Halloween Havoc post-show… we apparently have a new WCW World Champion in the Giant… Jimmy Hart has turned on Hulk Hogan… Lex Luger has turned on Macho Man… Ric Flair has turned on Sting… that must have been a very exciting show, I wonder if I had seen it.

Oh…

Anyway, on with Nitro.

There’s only a couple points worth noting here and then I’ll fuck off for the day.

First off, we have the partial reformation of the Horsemen after Ric Flair turned on Sting during a tag match against Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman at Halloween Havoc. Naturally, Arn and Flair cut their usual great promos, but none of which explain why we needed to do this whole thing other than to make Sting look like an idiot… you’d think he would know better by now.

The other piece of business is Jimmy Hart explaining his reasoning for turning on Hulk Hogan at the PPV, explaining that he was the evil in Hogan’s heart or something. Lex Luger, who was mostly an outlier, is now full-blow Dungeon Of Doom member – which I’m not sure is better or worse than being paired up with the British Bulldog in a nothing tag team, but whatever. And then Kevin Sullivan ends the interview by telling us that everyone hates Hogan. That bookerman spoke the truth.

Other than that, it was a ho-hum show. They didn’t explain Giant carrying the title, so I guess we’re saving that for next week. As for the matches, there’s a fun match between Sabu and Disco Inferno… yes, Sabu was in WCW for a spell. Luger and Meng teamed up in the main event, but other than that, this was a show that happened.

Oh well, there’s always next week, I suppose.
