TNA Impact (Sept. 26th, 2024) – Kaz Is Good, But Not As Good As Joe Hendry

Yes, we’re posting some quick Impact thoughts the night after… because I’ve got nothing else at the moment. Also, yes, this was quickly written at five in the morning because reasons…

Well, try to act surprised, but Joe Hendry is back in title contention for the TNA World title, as he beat Frankie Kazarian in last night’s main event to secure a title shot against Nic Nemeth at Bound For Glory… and for anyone who suggested that he should have won the title at a six-man elimination match at Slammiversary, trust me. This will mean more.

It was a pretty good match, too. Nowhere near the caliber of Hendry’s match with Josh Alexander at Victory Road (which I did see and largely enjoyed – imagine that), but still a pretty fun match. Kaz had the match won with the help of some brass knux, but Nemeth cried foul and told the ref about it, who then restarted the match. Is this Nemeth believing in a fair fight or does he fear Kazarian? Does he believe in Joe Hendry? I would hope not if he intends to retain his title at BOG.

In other news, the former Xia Li – now known under the tongue twisting name of Lei Ling Lee… and I’m pretty sure I messed the spelling too, but whatever – made her debut and won a match. If you’ve seen Xia Li in action before, then you’d know what to expect. The crowd, however, just wanted their tables. They didn’t get the tables. They were sour. Fuck them. They suck.

Really, nothing else of note off the top of my head. They booked another Monsters Ball match for Bound For Glory between Matt Cardona and PCO for PCO’s Digital Media and International championships. Cardona seemed pissed at this for some reason even he’s done this sort of thing before. Jordynne Grace teamed with some NXT girl (don’t know her name since I don’t watch NXT) to defeat Rosemary and the sleeping girl from NXT who’s apparently a demon now.  Mike Santana got into a backstage fight with the System that we didn’t see. There wasn’t anything bad on the show as far as I recall, but nothing particularly special. It was a more than watchable little wrestling show that had a satisfying main event and some build towards the big PPV. I’d say that makes it worth the watch.
