Yes, we’re using a picture of dearly-departed Sacha for the banner of this post because we’re opening with some sad news on the personal front before diving into other stuff.
Bit of a somber day today, as news broke that we lost a member of the family last night; one of my aunts on my father’s side. She had been in poor health for quite some time and had been in hospital care overseas. I got the news this morning and felt a bit of grief before heading on with the day. On any other day, it would be another mundane day of work, but on this day, I found it quite easy to lose myself and focus on the tasks at hand. Perhaps more than willing to set aside the grief for a moment and not have to worry about the emotional side of things.
It’s rather warm out… almost prime summertime temperatures you’d get from a typical July afternoon ’round these parts. Had some time to take a nice quiet walk in the park to reflect on things. Bask in some memories of my departed aunt. Her husband had passed a couple years back, so now they’re reunited in the afterlife. They will be missed.
Anyway, working on the finishing touches for Friday’s review before prepping for the October output, which is likely to be a marathon month of reviews. As such, there will be no video reviews until September 30th, which will kick off said marathon. The plan going forward is to hopefully bang out another 50 reviews before the year is up. Half of that number, naturally, will occur in October, which leaves the remaining 25 throughout the months of November and December. The good news is that the back end of reviews for those last two months are mostly in the can, since most of those were in the can for quite some time and held off for one reason or another. There’ll be some eventual new stuff along the way, but that’s then. We still have the now to get out of the way.
As for other video fodder… I’m making it a habit of making proclamations of said video fodder being a thing, only for it to not be a thing. Therefore, I will hold off further announcement until I’ve got something actually ready to go… one of these days. I do have a couple Sunday Gimmick Tables on the verge of being assembled or edited together. There’s also a couple Mega Man Maker levels that I’ve been toying around with, though I’m debating whether to post them now or wait until the 1.9 update eventually hits. I’ll get back to you on this later.
Next DTM-Cast will be up on October 6th and is mostly a canned edition of the show covering a past event and other general topics that are not time specific affairs. I can tell you that it’s mostly an hour of wrestling talk followed by roughly ten minutes of video game talk… and not even anything relevant to the here and now. Completionists who don’t care for wrestling will struggle through this one, but otherwise, you can wait until the one afterwards.
